Your boyfriend thinks YOUR surgery is an inconvenience to HIM? the first weight you need to lose is him and can't be bothered to care for his child either? you deserve better don't take that crap from him he needs a serious attitude adjustment and reality check and a change of address card!!! Good luck to you I hope you do well and have a smooth recovery after which u can kick his ass to the curb

Still Deciding: Need Opinions!
shellyd88 replied to Amber Johnson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't wait do it now if u can while your young u can't really stretch your stomach I can't believe that u get full fast with a smaller stomach u can eat things just in smaller portions I'm a bit over three months post op if u are very heavy that's a hard job to have and why give your time to allow ppl to criticize you instead of living your life what if u wait and things change in health care as they are constantly doing they make us pay tons of money for insurance plans that cover less and less u may never get it why wait to have health problems go for it now -
@@majorsmama it's very possible and and most likely they will ask for cardiac clearance and further testing I had an abnormal EKG as well due to undiagnosed Afib had to get an echocardiogram and a stress test and blood work
-
@@Yrkybarry your not doing anything wrong most likely take small bites and chew very well I too had trouble with meats or anything dense it takes times I'm three months post op it will get better it's a very slow process at times

Hello everyone!
shellyd88 replied to Sleevefornellie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi and welcome some ppl feel the need to point out things about others to feel superior it's a cowardly childish way to behave I think so ppl don't figure out what their shortcomings are perhaps next time reply... Yes Nancy I see we are in the same club we should chat I'll tell u what I'm considering doing to change that it would surely benefit you as well that should shut her up -
@@AvaFern amen... applause couldn't agree more laughing at little boy bs so true screw that

@@cute1 oh my yes lol this happened to me too a few days after I came home it started the dr office said its normal shock of surgery anesthesia only having liquids etc had it on and off for a couple weeks
-
Hey hi it may be that he is just scared perhaps it will pass if it doesn't well it's going to have yo be his problem not yours if u need to do the surgery then u do as u said its not his or anyone else decision it's yours it's normal to feel guilty about eating in front people who can't that's temporary tho u will eat just not as much I've told my husband and friends eat what u want this is my issue not yours I have to be in control of what and how much this is a tool that helps it's doesn't fix anything no one has the right to expect u to ask their permission or approval to have a healthier happier longer and better quality of life that's not love it's more like control and that belongs in your hands best of luck to you

Hi yes this happened to me as well I had lizard skin lol so dry was gross I think it was from lack of nutrients and fluids once I was able to drink enough fluids it went back to normal after awhile

Did you have to cut ALL starches?
shellyd88 replied to LiberalInAZ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@LiberalInAZ I was honest once too with the nut and got verbally beaten up when I admitted to eating a sliver of pumpkin pie and a few bites of thanksgiving dinner after months of no junk food soda starch carbs etc I felt like a criminal when it was over then I was pissed after so I never said a thing after that kept losing weight never gained any back it seems they want and expect that we are to never eat carbs etc again which is just so unrealistic just have to try and eat healthy and when u do have the occasional carb or starch a small amount etc no need to feel like your committing a crime -

shellyd88 replied to nic_89's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It won't be as bad as u think incisions are small didn't hurt much gas pain was much worse first three days was uncomfortable mostly felt like pulled muscles in back and abdominal areas was tolerable still hurt a bit getting up or down or bending over but over all not horrible at all as far as pain goes was more nauseas than anything ask for meds they will give them first three days were worst with gas then got better -
Pre-op diet is a b***h
shellyd88 replied to SlimJill's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ I'm sorry to tell u this lol but the food addict won't go away u must control what u eat unfortunately after the first few weeks cravings will come back and like before surgery u have to decide what u will eat and what u won't be careful follow instructions so u don't hurt yourself while u heal I'm a bit over two months post op and because food is everywhere it's hard it smells good it looks good etc it helps to always have things u are supposed to eat at the ready so u don't give in to temptation good luck to you and remember this surgery really doesn't fix wanting or cravings in the long term it's still mostly up to us -
Birth control during surgery?
shellyd88 replied to SimplySharon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@SimplySharon it's not a problem if your surgeon is fine with it don't worry if it's not estrogen or anything it won't cause blood clots surgeons that do these procedures are usually nuts about this stuff and will insist u stop pills etc if he isn't freaking over it and demanding a change I wouldn't worry and cause yourself more expense or inconvience for no reason best of luck to you -
Pre Op Hospital Visit
shellyd88 replied to cheektowagasleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was blood and urine tests X-rays weigh in blood pressure lots of paperwork and questions and answers etc not a big deal they are making sure u are basically healthy and no drugs not pregnant no fevers going over all meds etc asking if u have a medical directive emergency contact my surgeon also tested for nicotine they also give u printed instructions for those last days leading up to surgery reminding u to do whatever take meds or not depending on what that sort of thing best of luck to you -

2 wks Post-Hard to eat! Feeling weak & shaky
shellyd88 replied to LeeRN's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes I felt this way my dr office was rude and unhelpful I was told before hand I could water down juices for a while so I used to trop 50 orange juice and baby apple juice And v8 also did unflavored protein powder in soups yogurt Unsweetened applesauce etc also after a while I was told I could have mashed carrots and beets which I also added the unflavored protein powder to it took me a while to be able to tolerate sugar free drinks again I ended up getting true lemon it's by the crystal light it's got stevia in it tho not artificial sweeteners I couldn't tolerate it after surgery anything with artificial sweetener made me extremely sick even tho I used it before surgery I also used whipped cottage cheese the texture is very small it has a decent amount of protein in it too and u can add the unflavored powder to that also lower sugar/ fat p nut butter mix in the unflavored powder and u get lots of protein and drink drink drink warm drinks went down better for me in the beginning u can add the protein powders to those too put powder in mug add a few drops of water to wet it then add hot water etc or else it clumps up it does kinda make clear or light color drinks look muddy tho lol I used darker teas and soups u couldn't see it that way hope this helps -
I have felt same as u I will tell u tho those foods even in small bites fill u up fast and make u very uncomfortable so don't be in a hurry to get back to it u will eat normal food again I promise just pls don't rush and hurt yourself and umm getting back on reg food will be an adjustment to digestion so prepare yourself it smells really good however it doesn't always taste as good as u remember so u really will want to make the protein and Vegs a priority so u don't become weak I also have trouble with meat when they say chew chew chew trust me ..... Do it lol and I have fallen into my work day habit of not eating with being so busy and trying to do everything before I leave and then being so hungry that u eat fast .... I don't advise this trust me not a good feeling it hurts so I force myself to stop and eat no matter what hope u get to feeling better about it all

prednisone (steroids) and the sleeve
shellyd88 replied to boosh10's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband takes prednisone for a chronic lung disease I know what it does re the hunger I've seen my husband eat enough for five ppl lol fortunately he doesn't gain a lot of weight however due to my surgery we have removed bad for us foods from our house I figure if it's not here I can't eat it try some sugar free jello and puddings it will help fill u up without lots of calories also flavored teas help me if u have hobbies do them it will take your mind off eating I love to read do crosswords etc it passes time and helps to not think of snacking so much -
I too felt horrendous for several weeks it does get better eat what's allowed drink fluids take your vitamins rest when u can I work as a housekeeper so I was so weak tired etc I found that I had to force myself to do things even if just for a few mins to start working up to longer it seemed I started to feel better its sounds awful but the more I laid around the worse I felt and when u must run a 13,000 square foot estate home for a living there's no resting lol so I felt I had to do my best to get back to it as soon as I could I also found out my potassium was very low and I was told to take a supplement its a prescription not over the counter my surgery was February 24 th I didn't feel normal again until a couple weeks ago I'm still exhausted after but I can get thru the day best of luck
