I just wonder though, isn't a fatty liver normal for patients who struggle with obesity? From what I understand, there is no "remedy" for a fatty liver except for time and weight loss. Drastic weight loss, which I am guilty of, can actually escalate the problem. Just curious, has anyone else been told that they had a fatty liver, but their surgeon went ahead with the surgery anyway?

The doctor wants me to see a specialist, so I have no idea what's going to happen from there. I can't be upset that my doctor is hesitant to give clearance. She is doing the absolute right thing and for that I am beyond grateful. I just wish this could have been figured out sooner so that more drastic measures could have been taken to remedy the problem.

When I did Atkins years ago, I would substitute spaghetti squash for spaghetti. But tofu spaghetti?! I can't believe it! I will definitely give it a try once I'm at that stage. I'm sure the tofu has a ton of protein and must be very filling. What stores have you found carry it?

Not as slow as my parents! My youngest brother is 16 years younger than me. I'm really thankful that my parents let one slip past the goalie though. He's such a special little guy and the lessons that I have been taught as far as responsibility and love because of him have been immeasurable.

When you were overweight did you ever think that your body could look so absolutely perfect?! I have been voraciously reading up on PS procedures in order to set realistic goals for myself and I have found your insights to be invaluable. I hope that your recovery time is swift and that your next procedures are equally, if not superiorly, successful! I'll be anxiously awaiting for the next installment!

Thanks for the support, ladies! I don't mean to continually harp on the subject. It really did/does bother me, but it feels good to know that even if you don't fully agree with everything I say, you're still there with your support. I hope that I can offer the same level of support that you've shown me! How did your surgery go Stephanie? Are you up running marathons yet? I should go check the recovery stories thread!

This is my last post regarding this subject because it's time to move on and I am sick of feeling ganged up on. Please read the above post. Go ahead and continue to tell me that I am self-centered and I think everything is about me. Is this not personal?! Would you honestly not take a comment like that personally?! This is why I have taken everything regarding this subject to heart. Even though I am considered a "non-regular" or a newbie if you will, do I not have the right to defend my position and justify my feelings? I think the worst part of this is that I have been told that my feelings are not valid. I think sometimes it's easy to forget that there are people on the receiving end of comments that may not be intended to be harsh, but are.

Since I am not yet banded, I can not speak for myself, but someone at the last support meeting that I attended says that creamy peanut butter has been a life saver for him! He puts some on a teaspoon and sucks on it slowly over a period of a few minutes. He says that it helps satisfy his sweet tooth and helps to curb his hunger.

Thank you for hurting my feelings. I truly appreciate the wonderful experience you are making my journey. With the positive energy you exude, how could anyone not feel supported?

If the name of the group and how the group name is displayed offends, shouldn't those in the wrong know about it in order to make amends?

How am I not supposed to take it as a personal attack? The conversation goes from, WTH is up with "November Nymphs" ??? to I can't stand glitter and images that are too large, all things that applied to my signature. That can't merely be coincidental. I apologize if I am overtly sensitive, but don't I have a right to gripe as well?

For the past few days I have been attacked regarding the name "November Nymphs" and glitter/images in the signature being too large...and being used at all, for that matter. I just thought you guys might want to read it. I'm curious to see what your comments are. I have resized my signature as so many of you have passive-aggressively suggested. All you had to do was tell me, "Your signature is too large." and I would have gladly changed it. I am very aware that this is a "rant and rave" section and that things aren't supposed to be taken personally. That is a little difficult to do when so many people are saying things that are specific only to you. If someone has a problem with me, please call me out on it directly. Please don't insult my intelligence and belittle me with underhanded comments. After reading this, if you decide that you must "ignore" me, all I can say is good luck with your weight loss. I truly wish success for you.

Both definitions are fitting in relation to the band in that we, as "November Nymphs," are beautiful, strong women in the cocoon phase of development. With the aid of this tool, we will be able to develop into the goddess-like creatures that we are on the inside. The sexual connotation is derived from the depiction of mythological nymphs as having complete control over their sexual nature and fornicating with men at their own will. This is contrary to the historical view of women lacking sexual tendencies and urges, and merely being at the disposal of men's carnal needs. In modern times, the idea of "woman as sexual-being" has been further perverted and deemed as negative. Hence the term "nymphomaniac" was coined in order to describe a person, usually female, as hyper-sexual. It plays into the societal stigma of a sexual woman as evil and wrong, and the chaste woman as ideal and virtuous. If people on this board have the misconception that I am some sort of over-sexed slut due to a monthly group name, then so be it. I don't have the power to sway someone's opinion, especially via the Internet. I've already been shunned by society for my physical appearance, so what if a few people who are simply black and white patterns on a computer screen ostracize me as well.
