YAY Lellow! Glad to hear you are through and I hope the pain doesn't last too long!! -
Good luck tomorrow Cached...You only have about 10 hours to go before you have to be at the hospital I gather so you might not get this before then but we'll see you on the flip side!!
-
Hope you had a nice break Cutie!! I've been busy busy busy this weekend. I'm trying to get things done before surgery because I won't be able to do much for a while after. Dad and I made a fence (concreted in the posts then put horizontal deck boards across to make the fence) it isn't too long (2.4M but it was fiddly) Then today we dug out a heap of soil and put in the roadbase ready for the concrete! That will be next weekend I think. Then I want to put the Water tank in with enough time to hopefully catch some rain before summer! (Melbourne is on permanent water restrictions due to our drought.) So I am now sitting on the couch achy but pleased at the productive weekend I had.

Glad to hear you are ok Fee except of course for the pain. Sleeping all day  That is the best thing when you are in pain is to sleep it away but I hear walking does help ease the pain too
-
Great to hear you're ok Claudine. I heard that Gas eze stuff helps with the gas. The reason also I have heard your port area is sorer is because that is where they do most of the work out of so that is why it is sorer!

I got my operation date today...August 27th with Mr Chris HENSMAN ...still have to confirm with work but I am sure there will be no problem with that. It was the first time I've allowed myself to get excited that this is actually going to happen. My dad and I are going in the same day so we will be recovering and learning at the same time. It will be good to have someone to do this with! And luckily my birthday is next week and won't be on Optifast for it! And I have a few months to get on track before I have to cook Christmas lunch for about 15-20 people

Who's Getting Banded in August???
Roheryn replied to Tracyde730's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ACK!@! It is hard because they recommend you stop a lot of medications prior to surgery...I suggest you try and get some rest....vitamin C.....steam with Vicks vaporub...Mostly you have to wait a cold out it being a Virus and all and the stuff you can take will only make you feel better anyway. The good thing is at least it is the weekend so I would suggest you spend it in bed resting@! Take care -
Who's Getting Banded in August???

This is my preop diet!! I will be living off the chocolate shake and berry bar from the Optifast range. (I'm in Australia) Brekkie...Optifast Choc shake or Berry bar Mid morn Apple (or other permitted fruit (there are specific amounts you can have (not banana's)) lunch Optifast choc shake Mid afternoon.....1 cup vegetables (from the list of ok veggies, IE Low card and green vegies) or a shake or berry bar dinner Optifast shake and 1 cup vegetables from the list of ok veggies or have both cups of vegies in a Soup (made with stock)... I can have as much diet Jello as I like (but I think I would stop the red before surgery due to reasons mentioned elsewhere) I should drink 2L of Water and/or calorie free liquid and take a multi Vitamin No carrots, legumes, potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, tomato sauce (Ketchup), mayonnaise, tartar sauce, fruit juice, alcohol or vegetable juice... I could drink tea or coffee but I don't like it!! can have diet soft drink, diet cordial, atrificial sweeteners lollies or gum and all spices and herbs can be used also can have lemon juice, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, soy sauce (in moderation) chilli, mustard, tomato paste My dietician said if I eat the foods on the don't eat list then it knocks the system out of whack and will make you feel hungrier! Just need to get through those first 3-4 days -

Good luck for tomorrow Lellow and all the other August 1ster's -
I'm going on Optifast too but will pretty much follow what is on the information I was given which is.... Brekkie...Optifast Choc shake or berry bar (I think starting the day with the Soup is bad because that soup tastes like crap ) Mid morn Apple (or other permitted fruit (not banana's) lunch Optifast choc shake Mid afternoon.....1 cup vegetables (from the list of ok veggies, IE Low card and green vegies) or a shake or berry bar dinner Optifast shake and 1 cup vegetables for the list of ok veggies or have both cups of vegies in a soup (made with stock)... I can have as much diet Jello as I like (but I think I would stop the red before surgery for reasons previously mentioned) I should drink 2L of Water and/or calorie free liquid and take a multi Vitamin No carrots, legumes, potato, pumpkin, sweet potato, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, tartar sauce, fruit juice, alcohol or vegetable juice... The first 3 days on this diet are generally the worst and then your hunger starts to abate and the headaches and general crappy feeling is supposed to go...

Another thing I was thinking of trying is to use a little spoon to eat for a while so I don't take too much into my mouth and hence into my belly!

I just go and watch Last of the Mohicans when i need a reminder Congratulations Melolo..I hope this all works out for you!! Greenerpastures...I have planned out a LOT of gardening to get done before my dad and I get our surgery....there's fence building, lots of digging and hopefully concreting ...in 28 days we may be pushing it :crying: Then we'll be resting a while...lucky for me it is winter here so the garden is kind of dormant at the moment! Welcome Gary!!! It is great hearing about ya'll!
