    :w00t: That is great Lellow! My dietician said that you should start mushies about the 3 weeks but if I was getting hungry then I would probably get to start earlier
  2. That's okay!! I suggest if you can get samples of each to try that you should....otherwise...MOST people I know really don't like the Soup so I'd probably avoid it!
  3. Oh and get a pillow to put against your belly when you cough, someone posted on here that it helps make it less painful!

    Started Preop!!

    Started my preop today a few days early. :w00t: Stupid me though decided to also concrete a 5mx2.5mx0.15m area. Dad helped too, but Barrowing 1M of concrete myself and then helping to level it. Then edging it while dad troweled it on not much food wasn't the smartest thing I have done!!:tt2: Looks great though!:thumbup: Didn't think the headaches would start this early and I am really tired (but this could be contributed to by the concreting). I have been cranky too..luckily not too many arguments whilst concreting, well not due to my crabbiness anyway :tt2: I think I'll be sleeping really well in the coming weeks so I can get over the hunger!!:thumbup: 18 days until surgery! The Positive of starting this diet is it brings the surgery closer and makes me feel excited that this is really going to happen!:cool2:

    Gas, Gas and more Gas

    Welcome missinme!! I just started my preop yesterday!! It sucks but you can do it!! You just have to keep telling yourself that it will get better and hey you are now on your road to your new life and a healthier you! I hear things should get better by day 3-4!! My one hint for Protein drinks is mix them with COLD Water as they tend to taste better than using regular tap water. Also drink plenty of water to hydrate yourself as you will get dehydrated!!
  8. And make sure you get plenty of rest, maybe do some inhalations and get plenty of fluids!!

    Pre-Op Diet & Energy Level

    I'm tired and I'm only at day 2...I hope I feel better soon! It might be good going to sleep when you get home because that is when I find I eat more and get hungry so I figure sleeping will help with that!! I've alost gotta get my MultiV that I am supposed to be taking with the preop Hopefully that will help a bit too! And hey you don't have too much longer now Kristen!!!

    Started Preop!!

    I am going to spend today realxing, going grocery shopping to get some jelly and stuff! I thought I'd jump on the scales just to see what day one did and I'd lost 1.6kg (3.5pound)!! I guess that was a LOT of water but OMG!!

    Yes! I'm done!!!

    innotu have you tried drinking prune juice my doc recommends 50mL twice per day AND/OR adding Benefiber (Benefiber) to your drinks...but you must be careful with the fibre you add (my doc only recommends the Benefiber) because you don't want to get ones that form a gel in your gut!! They also recommend staying active and taking short walks which should help both with the bm and the gas!

    Anyone getting banded in AUGUST

    Nights are going to be hard....guess I was still living off food from the day before when I posted this!! Struggling now...going to bed soon so my insides stop eating my outsides! Well done Mumof2!! I'm sure you'll get a whole lot of info from the dietician, I have and I have started planning out meals and a calendar/spreadsheet with when I should start to drink just to make sure I get all my liquids!

    You go girl!!! Hehehe I love a good petulant tantie :thumbup: And the emotional eating I can get that. I guess next time you have that feeling you fight, maybe put off eating til your headspace is able to concentrate!! But then that could be ammo for making the hubby feel guilty :thumbup: Just keep telling yourself that Lellow!! Bring on day three and thanks Lellow!

    3 days Post op

    Glad to hear you're doing ok Cutie! That is so cool you and Surgery4me were in there together!! How're you going without the pain meds?? I am worried about my reaction to them and I will be asking that they avoid morphine, etc because I VOMIT on them!

    Lellow...you could always go on a preop diet........:thumbup::tt2::cool2::tt2: I'm in Day one hell!!! I'm tired, headachy, and want to punch something though I can''t raise my arms (that could be from the concreting though), I thought it would take longer to feel like this :thumbup: Seriously though, I think you can chose more wisely, check portion sizes, practice refusing your hunger head, sleep lots, do some exercise and if you do put on, don't stress too much because it sure as heck will be coming off in the long term!! I hear it can take 5 or so fills before you reach optimal zone so this is bound to happen again during our journeys I guess...

    I can't wait!! having just started my preop, I am thinking about food a lot...in fact even my arm looks tasty!! I tihnk I am going to go to bed early until I don't feel so hungry or tired! :thumbup: On a positive note, I got my concreting done!!
