Yes I have found that I need the three protein shakes a day. I am trying to drink plenty of water but having difficulty getting it all in. I get about 20 oz of water plus 3 protein shakes that's only 44 oz. I need 20 more at least. Any suggestions?

    Aug 18 had surgery

Just remember to: "Eat Slow and Win". Don't ingest more than 2 oz. Every 15 mins. You will definitely know you will start to cramp if you do to much. I just started my full liquids yesterday also, my surgery was 8/21. Good luck! Be mindful!

    My Personal Journey

So about 14 years ago some pretty major things happened in my life to cause infection and need for steriods. This all occurring my freshman year in college. I then stopped exercise and began eating poorly and was on steroids. My boyfriend now husband has always been supportive of me and my endless diet efforts and physician assisted weight loss programs over the years. Unable to conceive Bc of infertility I started thinking about weight loss surgery. After 8 years trying to find out more about the subject and failed attempts to loose weight I finally have a job who's insurance covers the procedure. I immediately prayed about the process contacted the doctor, dr. William Johnson with Atlanta bariatrics. I went through 5 months of tests and approvals. Here I am 1 week post op feeling amazing. I weighed Tuesday and have lost 15 lbs so far. I'm just now battling with craving for food. I have never been be fan of shakes. Hey it is worth It! Good luck to all of you! Hope my story helps!

    How did you tell people?

I actually told my very closest friends first. I knew my parents weren't going to be accepting at first so I waited until the surgery was approved and the date was set to tell them. Mainly my support system knows. I found myself explaining it to the waitress last night when all I had was water...While my husband and mother in law and child are dining like royalty in front of me... ok sorry side track. Lol. You know your people and who they are. Don't worry about them. Have you decided to do this for yourself? My husband told my dad when he was saying negative things "would you rather her stay unhealthy and unable to loose the weight or have an opportunity to succeed with weight loss and be happy?" That is pretty much it!

I can't stand the texture and flavors of the protein shakes to rely strictly on that.

Hey, I just turned 32 and my preop weight was 270 and I had GB 1 week ago today. I am down 15 lbs. I would also like to have some ladies to connect with on our journey.

Thank you! I think what is getting me is my husband can still eat the old way. I'm not jealous of it and I keep remind ing myself I don't want it. But the smell is all consuming. I told him when I get to soft and full textured foods things were going to change. He agreed. Also folks from church are bringing delicious meals since my hubby is having to take care of our daughter instead of cook. But I got some soups from the store today and I think that is going to help a lot. I think the constant protein shake, water and sugar free jello are old. Lol.

    1 week post op

Hi all! I just joined this site. I am one week post op for GB (ru-n-y). I'm still doing a full liquid diet. But am seeking to get a greater understanding of what I am going to experience in the next 5 weeks. Working through this head hunger. I know I need to journal my foods, I have always struggled with doing that kind of thing. Any suggestions?
