  2. If you have bad enough erosion bacteria will travel down the tubing and cause an infection at your port site.

  4. With my 4 recent trips to the ER from 2/2/12 to 3/29/12, I would have to say it is VERY important that you go to a hospital that has a Bariatric Surgeon that they can consult with and see you if need be. If they don't know what to look for than you could get misdiagnosed and end up with something more serious.
  5. Uhh you go to the ER preferably a hospital that has a bariatric surgeon. They will be you later. You can make payments and if they have a charity program you can apply for help through that.
  6. There's a failed Lap-band page on facebook that is very active.. Maybe someone there has a suggestion on what you can do or who you can see? Sorry
  7. My band dr had unfilled me prior to going to the ER because I wasn't tolerating food. I had an upper GI, 2 ultrasounds, hidascan, endoscopy, CT scan, and esophagus scan. They found in the endoscopy very severe gastritis. It would not get better, it was getting worse so I had my band removed. I'm also self pay.
  8. If you go to the ER their not just going to take it out. They will do some tests to make sure it's slipped. Believe me I went to the ER 4 times before I had my band removed.
  9. It seems like every day I'm seeing more and more people posting on various sites they are having their bands removed or revising to another wls. I had my band removed 4/10/12. One of the best decisions I ever made. There is a good Facebook page... Failed lap-band page. It's really resourceful and active. Check it out
  10. I had my band removed on the 10th. They try to go through your original incisions so the recover isn't too bad. It was worse for me when it was placed. I had my band 4+ years and developed a very severe case of gastritis in my pouch. I couldn't eat for 3 months, ended up in the ER 4 times, and was put through so many tests.... Why will that surgeon only do revisions and not just removals? That's so weird
  11. Yeah it's normal. I had mine removed 2 1/2 weeks ago and just recently things are mellowing out. A lot happened during surgery... It's just inflammation.
  12. You just got your band. Aside from the swelling you won't have any restriction until you start getting fills. Take it easy it'll happen
  13. I just had my band removed on the 10th. It's normal for scar tissue to develope where the band was. That is what you are feeling. My dr said the scar tissue may stretch a little but if you know anything about scar tissue it is really strong.
  14. I had my band removed on the 10th. I was told that with any unnatural thing in your body it will create scar tissue. That is probably what you are feeling. My dr said it might stretch a little but if you know anything about scar tissue it is really strong. That is what wr are left with after our bands are removed. Bands are removable but not reversible.
  15. good for you! You can do it!
  16. Its good that you have an appointment with your Dr. Gastritis is a complication to WSL and a possibility to what may be going on. Gastritis is treatable with medication and bland foods. However, I came down with a pretty severe case 3 months ago and nothing was working... I had my band removed last week because I couldn't live like that... The gastritis was in my pouch and so swollen, it was as if my band was filled to the max. I didn't have any slippage or erosion, just way too tight. My surgeon actually had to cut it into 3 pieces just to remove it. I don't want to scare you...its very possible none of this will happen to you. Just don't ever ignore any symptoms when it comes to your stomach. Good Luck
