I have been on a PPI since the sleeve and tried to go off of it several times, but always got heartburn. But that was nothing like it is now. It's so bad now I feel like my chest is on fire. I eat very bland foods and do not drink any carbonation. They tried to do a PH test on me, but I couldn't swallow the tube. Now I have to have a sensor attached to my esophagus to test the acid. I'm having bad side effects to the high doses of PPI, so they say if the PH is too high then my only choice is to suffer of get the Roux-en-y. I'm not looking forward to either.

I am a little over 3 years post op from Gastric Sleeve. Around the 3 year mark, I started getting severe heartburn, and nothing is helping. I was on 80 mg of Nexium a day and it barely made a dent in the heartburn, but I had sever side effects. I'm now being told by a Gastroenterologist it's because of the sleeve and my only option is to get a Roux-en-y. Has anyone else heard of this?

Veronica, don't worry about the stall. I had mine for a week and today got on the scale and was down 2 lbs. Everyone seems to be stalling, so don't worry about it. You will get past this. Keep your chin up!

Weigh in today I'm under 200
Gendy replied to Sexy Granni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weighed in today and saw 198! I haven't been in the 100's in years. I'm so excited. This came after a week long stall at 200. I'm hoping my stall is over and I can start losing again. -

Went to the Doctor today and I'm down 20.5 lbs. I'm so excited. My surgery date was 1/7/15. I get to start pureed foods today. Still not getting in all my protein but am getting in my liquids.

I had to be on liquids 2 weeks before surgery, Clear Liquids while in the hospital, regular liquids for 2 weeks, pureed for 2 weeks, soft food for 2 weeks then finally regular food. I am so sick of protein shakes, even trying to mask the taste. But tomorrow I start pureed foods, I can't wait. I'm down 20 lbs since before my pre-op diet. I think I may be at a stand still, but I haven't started exercising yet. I hope to next week. So hopefully I will be able to get back on the losing track. Does anyone feel a tightness in the chest if they drink too fast? I do and want to know if that is normal. Is that the restriction everyone talks about?

I order my bariatric chewable vitamins from Celebratevitamins.com. Their chewable multi tastes pretty good. I get the 90 day bottle. It has enough Vitamin B12 so I don't have to take an extra pill. I also take their calcium + 500 in cherry tart. That is not the best tasting and may switch to orange the next time I order. These vitamins were recommended by my doctor. Hope that helps.

My doctor said not to worry about not going #2 since I was on a liquid diet 2 weeks before the surgery and the few days after the surgery I didn't drink or eat much. She did say that it was okay to get a stool softener but not a laxative. Good luck to you.

I had kidney stones last summer when I still had my lap band in. They told me mine were from too much calcium. I now have the gastric sleeve and hope I don't get stones again.

I had my surgery on Wednesday 1/7/15 and am feeling pretty good today. Really haven't had much gas pain. My problem is that I'm not hungry or thirsty. I don't want to get dehydrated but have to desire to eat or drink anything. Doctor wants me to get in 60-80 grams of protein a day. Not happening. Anyone else not hungry yet?

My surgery is on Wednesday at 7:15 in the morning. I'm getting nervous yet excited. One more day of the pre-op diet, although I know I'll be continuing the liquid diet after surgery. At least I won't have to use the special shakes they made me have before hand.

Your thoughts on my success to have sleeve earlier than 12 weeks post removal of Band
Gendy replied to petaloshea's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have to wait 6 weeks before my sleeve after having my band removed. It goes fairly quick. I did gain 5 pounds before going on my liquid diet, but I really tried to watch what I ate so I would gain a bunch of weight. My surgery is 1/7/15. My doctor said they do have a better success rate with waiting between band removal and getting the sleeve, less chance for leeks. Good Luck to you.
