  1. I know what you are going through! Luckily, my insurance only requires a 3 month diet, or I would be a nutcase by now. It has been very difficult to stay at the exact same weight. They told me that even on the day of surgery, if you weigh one pound over original weight or one pound below the 40 BMI that they will cancel the surgery. Talk about stress!!! They use a completely different scale at the hospital and I have no idea how it weighs! I have my psych eval on the 14th and paperwork gets submitted to insurance the next day. I can't wait until this is behind me and I am on my way to worrying about REAL stuff instead of these ridiculous hoops that we have to jump through!!! If only they had to walk a mile in our shoes. I wish you luck! I truly understand what you are going through! Try to stay sane during this crazy period, sweetie.

    Any November sleevers out there

Hi! I have my psych eval on Oct. 14th and that is the last of the hurdles. I am hoping to submit paperwork to insurance by the 16th and hope to hear of approval shortly after. If all goes well, I will be able to join you all as a November sleever. Sure hope it happens that quickly.

    First time posting!

Hi! This is my very first post and the beginning of a new chapter. I have jumped through most of the insurance hoops and am almost ready to make the appointment with the surgeon. My psych eval is October 14th, after that, all of the paperwork gets turned in to insurance for approval. I did have to do the three month medically supervised diet. I am so nervous/excited/anxious for this part of the journey to be over. I have no idea what the next steps are, but I believe that it is possible to have a surgery date by the end of November. Am I being too optimistic? You have all been so inspiring and helpful to this newbie. I know this is the right thing for me and no matter what the naysayers tell me, I would never be successful without this opportunity. Thanks for listening!!!

    First time posting!

Thank you! I am about ready to jump right out of my skin, I am so excited. Good luck on your upcoming surgery. I look forward to following you soon after and sharing the experience. This forum has been so helpful to me. I ready all the posts and soak up the information like a sponge. Even the setbacks and complications are learning experiences. It appears that just about everyone is thrilled with their sleeve and has no regrets. I am looking forward to being "one of the group". I am 55 years old and feel like this is really my "last chance". I am a bit apprehensive but know that I just cannot do it on my own. I truly believe that this is my saving grace....not the "EASY way out" but the "ONLY way out". I wish you all continued great success and happiness. It is time to bring our own personal joy back into our lives.
  5. My psych eval is the 14 and I cannot wait. This could happen by the end of November! Good luck, Shelby!
