Good luck to the both of you, wishing fast, pain free recovery. Keeping you in my prayers. -
I would be so mad too. I have been staying on top of my insurance and docs office. I think they may approve me just to get me from not calling anymore. I understand your frustrations. I would only be seeing red. Good luck to you. Maybe with the oversite they may get the answer sooner.
-
Please keep us posted. If I get denied I would love to know how you are getting approved. Good luck. I hope you knock em out in round 2

Congratulations!!!!!! Approval fairies are in the air. Best wishes to you. -
I went to see Doc on Sept 1. Now I am waiting for insurance to find out if I am approved or not and the waiting is pure torture. I hate the fact that my life is in the hands of someone else. How do I pass the time? Eeeeks I never thought this would be so tough.
-
I am glad top see that I am not the only one who hates the waiting game. Rene, I think I will call tomorrow, I ran out of time today. I too had the assembly line but I saw doc then insurance. I have surgery scheduled but if insurance denies it will be canceled. I like the way your doc does it approve then see them. Then at least you know for sure.

So since it has been a week I wonder if I could call and see what is going on? Hmmm I never thought of that I was thinking I just have to wait for Dr.s office to call. I just hate the thought of beeing rejected. Sigh

I have my date. It is OCT 12. I am so amazed at how soon that is. She originally gave me Sept 29. I said that is just too soon. Now all I have to do is wait for ins. I am a bit scared. The pessimist (sp) in me says this is way too easy insurance is going to say no. Well anyway, I am really excited about starting my new band life!!!!!

Cathy, I am so sorry to hear that. I hope that maybe you can find some way around this. I am afraid of the same thing happening to me. I have been overweight since I was a teen. But nothing about seening a Dr. consecutivly for 1 yr. Good luck girl I hoping that maybe you can find away around this. Please let us know. Wishing you well, Beth

Hello to all, I have been a lurker for quite awhile and love the bonds that are formed here on this board. I just wanted to come out of lurk mode and say hello. A bit about me,my name is Beth, and I am a mom of 4 kids ranging on age from 14-5 3 grils and one 7 yo boy. I have been battling my weight since puberty (just a few years ago ) I have done the yoyo thing since 7th grade. I am a manicurist/esthetician in Las Vegas NV. I was going to do GB 2 years ago but felt it was too risky. I wanted to do the lap-band at that time but my insurance would not cover. So now ins. does cover and I am ready. I have done everything that I need to, and will be seeing my surgeon for the consult on 9/1. Then all I have to do is hope and pray that insurance will say yes, yes, yes!!!!

This goes back to the question why is soy better than cow. Also remember: Humans are the only animals that consume milk as adults We are the only species to drink another’s milk At one year that calf is supposed to weigh 1100-1500lb and a human baby is supposed to weigh around 20lb give or take. Let’s compare 100-gram portions (3.5 ounces) of soymilk vs. cow’s milk: Cow’s milk has 61 calories. Soymilk has 33 calories. Cow’s milk contains 3.34 grams of fat. Soymilk contains 1.91 grams of fat. Cow’s milk has 14 milligrams of cholesterol and no dietary Fiber. Soymilk contains 1.3 grams of fiber and has zero cholesterol. Cow’s milk contains a full range of amino acids. Soymilk also contains a full range of amino acids. Both contain plenty of Protein. Cow’s milk actually has one- half gram more protein than the 100-gram portion of soymilk. Soymilk contains greater amounts of certain amino acids including arginine, alanine, aspartic acid, and glycine. Arginine slows the growth of cancers by strengthening the immune system. Alanine aids in the metabolism of sugars. Aspartic acid increases stamina and plays a vital role in metabolism, acting as an anti-oxidant. Glycine is necessary for brain and nervous system functioning and muscle/energy metabolism. When milk is pasteurized, Vitamins A, C, and D are destroyed. The same can be said for those vitamins when soymilk is manufactured. Soymilk does contain more than four times the amount of thiamin (Vitamin B-1) and nearly twice the amount of niacin (Vitamin B-3) as does cow's milk. Soymilk also contains more magnesium, copper, and manganese than does cow’s milk. In order to absorb Calcium, one needs magnesium. Copper also aids in bone formation. One early sign of osteoporosis is a deficiency in copper. Soymilk contains twelve times the amount of copper as does cow’s milk. Soymilk also contains 42 times the amount of manganese as does cow’s milk. Manganese is also needed for bone formation. People with anemia rely upon manganese for Iron storage. Trace amounts of manganese are essential for neural transmissions, protein metabolism, and many other body functions. I hope that is not too much for everyone.
