I am scheduled to have ankle surgery in November and my primary physician said it shouldn't interfere with my weight loss surgery. I will be in a leg cast during this time and out of work for 8 weeks. I would really like to also use the time to recover from weight loss surgery if I can get it into this time frame. has anyone ever put two surgeries like this together?

Gastric Bypass or Sleeve? Why did you choose what you chose?

After my orientation yesterday I was wondering why people chose which surgery? I was originally thinking Bypass but then heard sleeve is the #1 service right now - still thinking bypass but curious A lot of information to process! -

Thanks everyone! The surgeon ended up recommending the sleeve for me. He said I'm young, don't have too many other health issues and my weight is within range for a sleeve. I guess if it were higher and I had other health concerns he would have recommended the rny. I have been doing all my research on the gastric bypass and now I'm reading on the sleeve. Now I'm really torn! The sleeve seems like it has good results but I know the bypass has been done and researched and followed for more than the 5 years the sleeve has. -

Okay, I'm not insurance Savvy. I thought Blue Cross was Blue Cross but the surgeons office said I have Blue Shield of CA. Does anyone know where I can find their requirements? I apologize if this has been asked before. I called and said I was approved but forgot to ask what my requirements would be.

I have my first orientation today! How did this go for everyone? Just thinking about what to expect and I have my surgeon appointment on Thursday!

I was hoping to take a week or less. Maybe I was being hopeful. I'm having ankle surgery and will be out of the office for 8 weeks in a few months. If I could have my surgery in that time frame that would be great.

Hi! I spoke with my insurance and they say they cover my surgery with a pre authorization and psyc as well but do not cover nutrition? I'm not sure if I was speaking the correct lingo but has this happened to anyone before? My scheduler had said to ask them if the require 3 months or 6 months and they said we cover the survey with authorization but not nutrition. Confused? Help please if you know

Ok so yesterday I had my doctors appointment and started the referral process with my doctor! Anyways, today I looked online and it said referral status pending. This afternoon it said referral status: consult and it said no precert required. Anyone know what that means?!? Anxious! But will be patient
