Just saw this thread Tricia - CONGRATULATIONS!! That home is a stunner. I love the stained concrete floors and the pool. And the kitchen. And the land. And the... you get the picture! When's the big move?

Hi everyone! I am so sick of this heat! We need a pool. Unfortunately, we live in the woods and it would be impossible to keep one clean. I haven't caved on the ice cream and chocolate, but I made up for it with Sun chips and red wine last night. WTF?! Aren't I just the gourmet? I know that I need another small fill. I had a cinnamelt yesterday at McDonalds (!!!!). Bandsters should NOT be able to eat cinnamon rolls without pain. I'm back on track today. Time to go workout like a good bandster! Talk to you girls later.

:preggers: :preggers: :preggers: What great news! Wishing all of you easy, fun pregnancies! Don't forget to post pics of your band babies.

What are you ladies doing at the July chat? It's August! I'll start a new thread.

Yes, in fact a lot of doctors do all of their fills under fluroscopy. They can watch the needle go right into the port. My surgeon tries first in his office and only uses fluroscopy if he has trouble locating the port, but it varies widely from physician to physician.

New diet I found, and you can loose very quickly!!!!

I think I just spit coffee out of my nose. Thanks for the laugh! -
Paula, I don't have any new advice to offer but wanted to send some (((HUGS))) and support. I'm here for you if you need to talk.

Eilene, that's awesome news!! :biggrin1: This calls for celebratory bananas. :bananapartyhat: :bananapartyhat: :bananapartyhat: :bananapartyhat: :bananapartyhat: :bananapartyhat:

Felt something weird today...did I feel my band slip? Please tell me your experiences
Anwyn replied to Malice X Girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My band slipped but it wasn't during a PB and I didn't feel it. My first symptom was severe reflux at night followed a few days later by constant stomach pain. Check with your doctor to be sure of course, but if you can keep food down fine and have no pain or reflux you are probably fine. It's always a good idea to stick with liquids for a few days after a PB to let your stomach have a break. -
Kat, we must have been writing at the same time! Have a safe trip to Albuquerque. You and your DH will be in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. ((((HUGS))))

Hello Ladies! Well, I may not have been around the last few days but clearly there is some sort of telepathic link between all of us because (I'm not making this up!) 4 days ago I decided to give up chocolate and ice cream too! I am going on vacation 2 weeks from today with my sister and her family and we decided to get our butts in gear and lose some weight beforehand. It was on the exact same day as you all started the chocolate and ice cream challenge, and I haven't had a bite. I even took the kids to Captain Frosty (yummmm) for dessert on Friday and what did I order for myself? Nada! It was unheard of! I also have a new bathing suit on the way from Land's End, so that's been great motivation as well. Think I can drop 50 lbs in 2 weeks? :bananapartyhat: I'm going to attempt to catch up on personals, but please forgive me if I can't remember everything... Cindy, you look so wonderful in your one year "after" pictures! I'm so proud of you. I'm sorry to hear that your DD is having a hard time with her grief from your mother's passing. She's lucky to have such wonderful parents for support. Betty, congrats on DH getting a new job so quickly! :clap2: :clap2: Eilene, I cracked up when I read your post about your DD still loving you if you get fatter. So nice to know that her love is unconditional, LOL! Sherry, don't feel bad about getting rid of those clothes! You'll have so much fun replacing them in a smaller size that I bet you won't miss them a bit. :bananapartyhat: Kat, I'm so glad that you were able to get some support and help from your friend. And it sounds like a great idea to have all of your mother's medications reviewed by a physician. Once there are several physicians involved there is always the possibility that they are unaware of overmedication. Patty, hope you're having a great time in Santa Barbara! Pat, we've missed you! Are you still filling in for the girls in the office? How is that son of yours and his evil ex? Dianne, good for you getting rid of your chocolate. I have M&M's on a shelf over the toilet to try to bribe my DD to go number 2 (currently potty training), but other than that my house is currently chocolate free. Darcy, no chocolate, no ice cream and you're working out every day! You're kicking some serious butt this week! :shade: Well, DH wants us to have a glass of wine and watch Stargate (yes, we're geeks). Wait a minute - this challenge doesn't include giving up red wine does it? :bananapartyhat: Talk to you all soon.

I was told to wait 6 weeks before soaking in the bathtub or swimming. Congrats on your awesome weight loss!
-
Please tell him that we are all pulling for him. My heart goes out to them both.

:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Happy Bandiversary Mandy! You've done an amazing job. WAY TO GO!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Betty, I'm so sorry to hear about DH's job. What horrible news. I think taking a day to recharge is great advice. What kind of work does he do? (((HUGS))) How is your foot feeling today? Darcy, this just stinks. In a perfect world, you'd get your money back if the band doesn't work for you. Have you been able to maintain at all? If it's helping you to maintain, I wouldn't get rid of it. Eilene's right (as usual - she's such a showoff! ) it's better than gaining 10 lbs a year. Patty, you are so wise. Why hasn't some rich, handsome, mickey mouse fanatic picked you up yet? They're missing out. Eilene, I would have loved Polly Pockets when I was a girl. My niece has a bunch, but all she ever seems to do is chuck them all over her house. I took DS to a birthday party this morning and found out that they are adding a toddler program at my son's school (Tues/Thurs mornings). I think it would be really good for my daughter (she has a speech delay), so we're mulling that over. Can't quite imagine having both kids gone. Kind of exciting and sad at the same time... Dianne, Kat, Pat, Cindy, Beanie, Bettina, (((HUGS))) and hello. Time to make dinner - talk to you all later.
-
Hi everyone, Eilene, how did it go today? I've been thinking of your niece all week. Please let us know how everyone is doing. Kat, my goodness! Do NOT feel guilty for not being able to do everything. Your family loves you and they know you'll do what you can. Perhaps a home health worker could help out your mother? You could ask the hospital social worker - there may be free services out there that you don't know about. Betty, good luck with the boot. I hope it helps give you some pain relief! Tell your employer that the cast is not optional. I would think that not letting you wear a doctor prescribed cast would be cause for a lawsuit. Patty, enjoy your weekend and have a great trip to Santa Barbara! Dianne, congrats on making it to Onederland! Donna, welcome home! Glad to hear that your trip went well. How about some pics of the living room furniture? I love houses and decorating. :bananapartyhat: Mary, Beanie & Darcy, hi there! What are you chicks up to this weekend? DH came up north last night to play cards and now we're packing up the cars for the 3 hour drive home. We won $100 playing poker last night, so at least we have gas money! I can't wait to sleep in my own bed. I'm sending hugs and prayers for all of you and yours.

Hi everyone! Stopping in for a quick hello... I'm back up in Cadillac for the week (sister's house). DH and I came up to go to an outdoor performance of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at Interlochen Arts Academy. We got all dressed up and everyone else was in shorts and t-shirts. Oops! DH went home Monday to work and I decided to stay up here with the kids. They're going to vacation bible school at my DS's church this week. I think my hubby needed a break from my post-surgery whining and complaining. Port area feels a little better every day. Can't wait to sleep on my side again! Betty, I hope your appointment with the foot doc goes well today! Mary, happy bandiversary! Sorry that DH's lawyer is being a jerk. No big surprise there I guess. Your patience will win in the end. Eilene, enjoy your time away from the boss-man today! No time for more personals right now - the kiddoes are begging to go outside. Have a great day everyone!

Okay, I've had a few glasses of wine, and I've always wondered this... I know we have lots of LBT members with tattoes. As you lose (or gain) weight, have they shrunk nicely, or do you have a bunch of tattoes that look like something out of a Salvador Dali painting? My sister has a big tiger on her stomach, and I've always wondered if it turned into a big blob after she got pregnant... Just a side note: my mom is so cute... she was just talking the other day about how so and so's daughter had a tattoo and none of her kids would ever get one. Little does she know 3 of her 5 kids have one, lol. (not me - I was too chicken, but maybe when I get down to goal!!)

Hi everyone! Just stopping in to say hello and pass out hugs all around. My friend sent this picture out and I thought you guys could use a chuckle. I beheaded him first for privacy, lol. Have a great weekend everyone!

Eilene honey, (((HUGS))). I will keep your niece in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted. Kat, so glad to hear that your dad's appointment went well! Hi Beanie! I see you're on here too. Love you guys.

Hi Everyone! I'm sorry that I've lost touch. This summer has been so busy, and here I thought it would be nice and relaxing. We've been spending a lot of time up north at my sister's house, and with a combined total of 5 kids under 5 it's a madhouse. I just looked at the calendar, and I think we finally have some peace and quiet on the way. Dianne, I'm so glad that you're okay after your accident! No doubt - that man was an angel. I hope you're not shaken up too badly. (((HUGS))) Betty, how is your foot? I hope the sports med doc can give you some better answers and get that injury healed up for you! Kat, it sounds like you have a house full right now! I'm glad your son and his family are keeping DH occupied before his surgery. The anticipation is often the worst part. Give your grandbaby hugs from us! Darcy, I love that you named your goiter Sybil! I named my belly "Hanging Chad" because it's hanging so low over my thighs I can practically kick it when I walk. Glad to hear that they don't need to try surgery. Good luck with the new meds! Eilene, I have to admit - I buy one pocketbook and carry it around until it's so grungy that I'm embarrassed to be seen with it. Then it joins the pocketbook graveyard at the bottom of my closet. I did buy one about a month ago that is quilted and has a matching wallet. It's brown and turquoise and I just love it. Maybe I'll try getting a Fall purse too. Baby steps... Donna, have a great trip! Give your DS a big hug from all of us. Where will he be stationed after basic? Patty, I was thinking of you and wondering if you were there when I read about the big Pirates of the Caribbean opening at Disneyland! Sounds like you and your sons are having a blast this Summer. Enjoy your trip (I can't remember where you're going... to North Carolina?) and forget about all this lapband crap for a while. Beanie, how is the big backyard project coming along? I have a love/hate relationship with yardwork. Love the flowers, hate the work. Mary, Pat, how are you doing? This morning was my port revision surgery. All things considered, it was a piece of cake. I was mostly nervous about the iv, but the nurse really knew what he was doing and I hardly felt a thing. My belly is of course really sore, but I have a fill again! Yeah!!!! I'm on fluids today, and I'm just convinced that the restriction is back. So, after gaining back an appalling amount of weight I'm feeling very optimistic. In other news... we got a letter from the IRS stating that they are showing a discrepancy in the income that we reported for 2004 and what "outside agencies" are reporting for us to the tune of... get this... $273,000!!! Pahahahahahaha! I told my husband that if he won the lottery and hid away 273K we're leaving the country and never looking back. So we have to straighten that out which will be lots of fun. Time to dive into my patented filing system, which consists of throwing our papers willy nilly into cardboard boxes. Stupid IRS. My DD is staying with my sister this week so that I could have a little down time after the surgery, and I miss her so much! On the plus side, with her gone my DS is enjoying being an only child so we've had some nice quality time together. We finally went to see Cars last night with him. Great movie! I hope I've caught up with everybody. Even when I disappear, I'm always thinking about you guys! (((HUGS))) all around. I almost forgot! Happy belated birthday Darcy!

Hi everyone, I'm just popping on to catch up but I don't have time for personals. Starting today I have 7 kids under the age of 6 staying at my house for the next week. They're all nieces and nephews, plus my 2. I'm pretty sure I'll be completely gray before the week is over. Will try to catch up soon, but wanted to let you all know that I'm thinking of you. Have a great weekend everyone!

I have a 5 year old and we just call it a penis, lol. My nephew calls it a wiener. I've been trying to come up with an alternative for vagina though... it's just so formal. Oprah suggested va-j-j, so we're trying that one out on our daughter who is potty training right now. She thinks it's hilarious.

Anyone wish they could just take a 1 week vacation from the Band?
Anwyn replied to NervousNellie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree with Kat - you made the right decision postponing your surgery. You're wishy washy right now, and that's no way to approach a life altering surgery. The fact is, you're not going to know what foods (if any) will be difficult for you until AFTER the band is in place. You need to make peace with the possible outcomes. Take your time and keep reading - the band will still be there for you if and when you decide to take the leap.
