Thanks all for the great input...first my scale is somewhat inaccurate because I will get on I am this number then I get back on a minute later and it's a different number. Maybe I should put in a new battery and see if it make a difference. I do put it on a hard floor so that is not a problem. One of you said that money does not always make the value better so we shall see. I love the graphing idea and chart every time I get on the scale. Thank you James I wanted info on other scales. I will most definitely look into Bed and Bath Beyond for the one you mentioned. I just want accuracy. I am under 330 just will just work! Lisa

Let's talk about scales. I hate my scale cause it's not honest with me. Every time I go to the doctor's or get the weigh in it's a different number. Of course I weigh less at home! I have Health meter Digital scale(nothing fancy)...which eventually is going into the trash! Anyone have a good scale they can rely on? Btw, I brought this thing in Walmart.

bellabill replied to 64chris's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow Chris....it sounds like you are deserving a happy life after what you and your husband have gone through. I am going to be fifty in Nov. and it's looking like the same for me as I need to be around a long time for my kids and family. My date surgery hadn't been set in stone but it's coming soon. God bless you and your family. There's a bright future ahead of you! -

Oh ok I hope this resolves the problem...it was getting annoying. -
I have done this in the past...I wanted to do the surgery but I backed out and went on the behavior track(we have behavior and surgical track). Look I am back and definitely going to do this now. I think you have to be mentally ready and want to change your ways. I should have done this long time ago cause now I have real problems with my knees and back. It all caught up with me and eventually it will catch up with you. After my surgery and heal I have to go for another surgery after all this to replace my knee before going back to work next year. I am ready to be healthier and lighter! Good luck making your decision and it's all up to you no one else.

My coworkers have been excited for me and have been supportive...knock on wood. If someone puts me down for it I will totally ignore them anyway...Who needs to listen to junk? -

I am turning 50 in Nov. and I am going through the same thing as you are. I wished I had done this sooner cause I want a healthier lifestyle and to feel better about my self. As you navigate through the site you will find lots answers you are looking for. Welcome aboard !! -
Hello, I am back...I was longing to get on here to write and read people's comments. My appts. went well and feel better knowing that I am going forward. The appt. with Lauretti went well, she cleared me for surgery. I don't have to go back to her. Anna however knows I have to do better trying to lose some weight so I will be going to the life skills classes in Oct. 6 and the 30th...on the 30th after class I will see Anna one more time. I need to work on my will power! Then I get to see the surgeion So How are you feeling? I have you gone onto the shakes and thicker foods? I bet it gets better with time! Are you cooking for your family if so how is that? I think that will be challenging but I already told my daughter that she and her father are going to have to cook for themselves until I can eat real food...Well I was thinking of you and hoping you are on the mend. Hang in there! Lisa

I go somewhere else... At least that's what I would have done. On the other hand you might lose more time. I understand your frustration.

Hi I stopped working April 22 2014 because of my knee. I could not walk on it that day so now I am on extended short term disability. I have been having problems with my knees more than 10 years ago, it just got worse over the years. My ortho doc told me that I have to lose weight before surgery to replace my knee. May comes along I am thinking I need to do the weight loss surgery so I make an appt....did not get the first appt. till July 7th, then a few appts made for later July and August. The one appt. that kind of struck to me was my psch. eval was not till Sept. 12 (tomorrow). That is the first one! Plus I will see my NUT tomorrow as well. It's Sept. I feel I am not getting ahead...I am at this point thinking about going someplace else. Also keep in mind that I participated the behavior track before cause I was not sure about surgery before. This was 3 years ago. I will try to get more info tomorrow and we shall see. The thing is I want to have this surgery soon that way I can recover and get ready for my knee replacement so I can go back to work next April. Do you think I am being impatient or is this downright ridiculous?

Hi I am from central MA also. You just had your surgery... I am jealous I wish I could have it soon! I hope all is well with you and a speedy recovery!

Hi it's good to hear you are doing great and 12 lbs is impressive! After reading other people's comments the first couple of weeks is the hardest. Each day always gets better. Hang in there! I am meeting with Anna the Nut( hehe) and Dr. Lauretti. I made my first initial appt was July7. I have seen Janet Huels twice, Anna tomorrow will the second time and Lauretti the first. When do you think surgery will happen with this time frame? I need to squeeze in my knee replacement before next Spring. I have been on extended short term from work and then going on long term. So I am pressed for time and anxious to know when this thing is going to happen. I have Harvard Pilgrim and there is no 6 month requirement. Ok I am still learning how to navigate this huge forum. It's really informative to see everyone's concerns and fun to read ????

I often like to use the phone to look at the forums but I can't log into it (only to lurk at other comments)..."wrong password" but it works on the website. It automatically stays on so I don't log off so I don't lose my contact. There is no customer help phone number or even live chat help?
