True confessions of a 9 month out Sleever
Blue Sky replied to HumanMerelyBeing's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not to minimize your confession but reading your journey made me feel optimistic and alleviated some of my own fears! I'm glad you feel normal after 9 months! I'm glad you have a normal appetite and can enjoy foods again. Most of all I'm glad you lost a hundred pounds and your health is better! Think of it like you have already done the hard part. You have a lot less to lose now, and you can do it the " normal" way! You have power over your fears! You demonstrated that.. Just keep going! Simply read your post again, skip your last paragraph and give your God a hand! -
Probably someone from Pugetsound Bariatrics.

Was I emotional or justified? Lost a friend
Blue Sky replied to Jersrose43's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think your last paragraph answers the question of your topic. How can you lose something u never had? I found that In your relationships people will either add to, multiply/or subtract and divide from your life. Seems like she was doing the latter and u made the right decision! -
Thanks Bigdog These folks have their way of trying to discourage you out of it. Right now I'm just going thru the motions... I guess I was naive to think that those who could help. - that I am essentially paying to help - would be fighting against me!
-
Good for u nursejenny! This is a staple in a friend of mine's diet who had wls. Makes sense bc it's a small amount of veggies and protein!
-
Sorry about that Bigdog. Hope the best for u and your wife.. That it's a short turnaround.
-
Just think of it as finishing the process u started 3 weeks ago. You will have a new beginning, a fresh start! It's all a part of your journey to a better you. Sending lifting thoughts your way!

3 weeks post op and eating fine
Blue Sky replied to olsonjb's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations Olsonjb! So glad u had the surgery and are progressing nicely. I would suggest u be honest with your doctor tomorrow like u were here and adhere to his/ her guidance after that. Don't take any chances at this point. You've come too far! I'm trying to get there. -
Anyone else feel like everyone is against you?
Blue Sky replied to LisaLou30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love this response.! Yes, it's a means to an end! It's one way to your desired result. Your choice! Just like having a baby, with pain or not (epideral) sp. Either way the baby is coming out It's your choice how u go about it. -
Dr. David Kim - Dallas, Texas Yall!
Blue Sky replied to SleevedShannonMac's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Shannon, I've not been sleeved yet but heard great testimonials about Dr Kim. A sports personality Ben Rodgers used him with great results among others! Dr Kim's website lists support groups you can join I believe. He is the only other Dr I would consider doing my surgery because of what I found in my own research. bs -
That's great! This is your last hurdle before your surgery. Keep your eye on the prize! Almost there!
-
I was denied today 2. I am going to appeal also. I don't even know what to say. I will just finish the process and see. Wishing the best for u also.

Support from Mom isnt that supportive....
Blue Sky replied to auntiemel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure what happened to my first reply but sounds like your mom wants the best for you but she is talking from her fears. You just stay focused on your own reasons for your decision and u will be fine. As for the alcohol addiction, here's a sidebar: my therapist told me that cross addictions are not uncommon in bariatric patients because they can transfer their food addiction to something else like shopping, alcohol or gambling. In other words, we all need to have stuff worked out before we get the surgery. Wish you the best! Keep your eye on the prize! -
Surgeon's office meltdown ahead of Monday VSG surgery. What to do?
Blue Sky replied to fatflyboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I say go with your gut instincts. If you don't have a peace about it now, then wait. This is too serious of a situation to go into it "hoping"" folks will have it together. I mean it's one thing to doubt based on your own innate fears but another to doubt based on your experience. Surgery is more than the doctor. Can you trust that his team will have your vital statistics right? That he is given the right information? Are they too hurried at this point? The doctor has to be able to trust his team before he performs an operation... And you do, too. Yes, you need to have a discussion with him if only to inform him about the situation. If you don't feel good about it like you did before this, then go to another doctor, or reschedule a later time to be assured nothing is overlooked. -
Bariatricpal scared me shitless
Blue Sky replied to elpasovet's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Lol me too at first! I just had to process it all out and make the best decision for me. It's helpful to talk with patents of the doctor who is doing your procedure , also. -
Yay! Great news this morning.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Blue Sky replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I spent the last ten years obsessing over my weight. This is my way of putting the weight aside, running my race and finishing strong. Can't spend the next decade as before. It's time to live my best life now. -
Thx for sharing... Adds value to the decision or the decision making process.

New Here: Anybody feel like you're just on hold?
Blue Sky posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everybody! I am new to the site but have been reading your posts for a while. I finally got everything submitted to my ins co after over a month and I am now waiting on the outcome. I feel like my life is on hold until I hear the results and can move forward. Hopefully I will shift out of paralysis mode and at least start an exercise regime tomorrow. After a month of reading your posts I think I've got my head around the potential pros and cons and feel good about it all. Now that I have resolved my issues, I am just anxious to move forward. Can anyone relate?
