I'm still learning what I can eat and not eat..... or shall I say what I can tolerate. A lot of things make me very nauseous. It's a learning process. Surgery weight was 273 I'm down to 229..... this weight was achieved without exercise. I keep saying I'm going to start lol.... but I really need to soon.

Pre op diet I lost 8 pounds.... which put me back at 273. My last supervised diet visit was Dec 8th. My pre-op diet began January 13th. In-between that time I had gained 8 pounds but lost it again during pre op diet. The diet that I was given was 2 protein shakes and then a regular meal for dinner for 2 weeks. .... I have read about others having to do 2 weeks on a liquid diet.

The first 2 days were manageable as long as I kept up on my meds. Days 3-5 I went from taking meds every 6 hours to every 10-12. Day six I no longer needed the pain meds. The first 3 days I also had the gas pain.. which was extremely annoying.

Omg!!!!! This is too freaky lmao. Your user name is my friends name and his year of birth lmao. That means I need to call him.... anyways mine is ppo. I believe if your bmi is 35 with Co morbidities like the ones you have you won't have any problems with getting approved. I will say do not gain any weight during tour supervised diet. Me, for example, I was able to do the 3 month supervised diet with the dietician, which was located I my surgeon's office.... In October my weight was 292. At my next appointment(November) I could not weigh more than 292... I didn't I weighed 280. Same went for Dec. I could not weigh more than 280 and I weighed in at 273. I had to be careful with my weight loss because my bmi was 43 and from all the posts that I have been reading if your bmi falls below their requirements you will not get approved. So when I was on the supervised diet I didn't make drastic changes. The first month I cut out pop which gave me the 12 pound loss. The next month I ate the same foods but small portions. The third month I cut back on snacks. I was approved within a week..... I hope I covered everything lol... feel free to ask more questions and let me know if I left something out.

I am scheduled for January 27th ???? 10 a.m. The excitement is real lol. I was concerned about getting my money together for my co-pay. My training coordinator told me that she paid 1600. I was beating myself up cause I set that date cause I was excited and that was the date she said so I went with it.... After I got off the phone I was like "fu*k"...... Today I came up with a bright idea and thought I would call my secondary insurance (caresource) and see if they would cover the expenses that my primary (Aetna) wouldn't cover.... Thank god for giving me that bright idea. They will cover the remaining expenses!!!!! So relieved. I was going to use part of my tax money to pay the co-pay.... Now I can put that money towards a car. God is good! I'm so excited. I had my pre-op appointment today. While I was there, I doubled checked with the insurance coordinator and she said since I had caresource as a secondary they won't have to collect anything from me???? I had my "before photo" taken today. Pre admission testing is on the 13th. That includes: lab work, chest x-ray, EKG, upper GI, Pulmonary and cardiac testing, and meeting with my dietician.

So I had the option to choose a 6 month supervised diet with my pcp or 3 months with a dietician.......... obviously I chose the dietician lol. I began on October 10th and my last appointment was on December 8th. I called on the 16th to see if my surgeon's office submitted the paperwork over like they said they would that day and it was submitted and she informed me that I was approved:-) Yesterday the surgeon's office called (I missed the call) and wants me to call between 11-5 today! I'm excited!

Hmmm.... I'm just starting my process. I didn't get charged twice. I was charged my regular copay. I had my my first visit with the surgeon a couple of weeks ago. I seen the dietician in the same visit. When I go back, I will just pay the same copay. I decided to go with the 3 monthly visits with the dietician over the 6 monthly visits with the physician to save money......
