    Any Long Islanders?

Hi, Did anyone have any issues with switching from liquids to soft foods where they gained weight. I started soft foods on wednesday and since then have gained 2 pds. I know I am not drinking my 64 oz. could that be the problem, but I am not eating alot either. HELP, because I am getting discouraged.

    Any Long Islanders?

Hi Deb, I am having the same issues with pain and eating, but I am having a hard time drinking also. I am just not hungary. I came back to work on monday, but am taking it so and not moving too much. Rest is the best thing we can do. Has anyone heard from Sue? How is she doing? I am so happy, I was not alone to go through this hospital experience and went through it with both of you. P.S. anyone know where I can get a signature line that shows my weight loss. Good luck to everyone this week. Nicolle

    Any Long Islanders?

HI All, I am so excited I am book for my Lapband with Dr. geiss on 11/13. I can't wait. I think this was the longest week waiting this call. Loz was so nice and helpful she answered all of my questions and was so patuent with me. SusanCarole, thanks for the suggestion but she said I need to stay with dr. geiss since I started with him. It all workout though my mom cancelled her plans and told my family I was having hernia surgery so that they won't wonder why I don't eat at the holidays. LCubed did they tell you when to start the pre-op diet? Nicolle

Find Doctor in LI Suffolk in Network

st. charles and mather is usually done by dr. ahmed, but I don't think he takes any insurance as an in network. I have interview app. 3 surgeons and am going with dr. geiss, it is a hike from the mather/St. Charles area but he is extrememly experienced and worth the drive. Good Luck on your journey.

    Any Long Islanders?

I am so excited. After interviewing several surgeons, i have decided to go forward with dr. geiss's office. they are so nice. I turned in everything I have completed and they just want me to have a upper gi which i scheduled for saturday and meet with the pulmonary dr on thrusday where we will discuss if having the sleep apnea test is needed. I spoke with I believe her name was Karen and she said if I can get them the disk for the upper gi on monday I could have insurance approval and a date as early as next week. They are currently scheduling for the 3rd week of october. I am so excited I just want to yell quietly. I hope the pulmonary doctor will work with me considering I just had general anesthesia on friday for my last operation with no problems. Dr. geiss is far from middle island, but i think he is worth the drive after meeting all the different surgeons he is the one that really seems to care and take the time to address any issues. To me, that is what is important.
  9. Hi, My name is Nicolle I am in eastern long island and am just finishing up all the pre-op tests. I am 36 and have twin 3 yr olds. I am hoping to have my surgery with Dr. Cussatti. I would appreciate a mentor that could help me through the next phases of this journey. I need to do this right so my children will have great memories with their mom. Thanks, Nicolle

    Any Long Islanders?

can anyone tell me if they had to have a sleep apnea test for this. I have all my testing done I called the surgercial consult for good sam and they asked if i had one. I didn't but i also didn't think it was mandatory and now i am starting to get frustrated because i do not sleep well in strange places and feel i have been through and done well on all other tests. i don't have any signs of sleep apnea, can someone tell me why this is necessary and if it wasn't what surgeon you used. thank you for any help. nicolle

    Any Long Islanders?

thank you amanda. Can you tell what your post op was like. Honestly my big concern is my children and what I will be able to do. They are very active and I love my husband but he is not mommy to them. Any information will be helpful. BTW looks like you are doing great with the band.

    Any Long Islanders?

Hi, I am new here, I have just begun my appt jouney in hopes of being banded by Dr. Cussatti. Has anyone gone through the process with him? What was your experience like? I am excited but this may sound bad but I am afraid to tell anyone I am dooing it out of fear that i will be judged and then the what if it does not work, there will be even more questions. Am I overthinking all of this? What can I expect as far as post op? Did everyone have to stay overnight in the hospital? I have 3 yr old twins at home will it be hard to manage post op? I'm so sorry to ramble. Any info would help. Thanks, Nicolle
