    Generalized mid-upper Back Pain?

I have been wondering about my back pain as well. I am in my 5th week post-surgery and my back hurts almost all the time; lower and upper. Mostly standing, and in bed. I'm wondering if it's associated with my surgery, or my normal back pain. But it's just been different since my surgery.

    Crushing Pills

^ tbahm - I totally understand! I felt the same way, I hated myself for getting the procedure done and felt I had made a grave mistake. I went to the ER three times after my procedure, I just knew something was wrong. I also had anxiety and crying spells. And this was all int the three days after my surgery. I had my sleeve on August 6th. I finally started feeling better towards the end of my second week. My doctor did not prepare me well at all in regards to the difficulties of recovery. But there is hope at the end of the tunnel. Oh, and I didn't take my pain meds either I couldn't handle the crushed pills...yuck! I did take liquid Tylenol when I could stomach it.

    Drinking & Eating

I take the generic of Zoloft and have not noticed any issues with dry mouth due to it. My sleeve was August 6th and I have not tried eating any breads yet, but I do eat small pieces of roasted chicken. When I do eat something that tends to dry, I just chew on it longer and try to work up more saliva. Smaller bites make a difference too, you don't have as much to try and moisten up.
  4. Hi Samantha. I had my sleeve done August 6th and had a really tough time the first two weeks. I know I experienced anxiety due to my experience. I didn't realize at first what my problem was, I would just start crying. But after the fact, and looking back, I can now see what was happening. I definitely believe there is a relatively high risk of experiencing depression and/or anxiety.

How many calories is too few

Oh man I hate it that you are still nauseous, that's the worst feeling ever! I cried the third and fourth day. Have you tried putting cold rags around your neck. One of the nurses in the ER told me that if you can get something cold around your neck, chest, and back area it helps. She said it helps stop the sensors from getting to your brain that tell you that you are nausea.

How many calories is too few

Awesome, thanks Jess! I had my sleeve on Aug 6th and have had a terrible recovery! But I am finally starting to feel more like myself again. I have only lost 15 pounds and have been at the same weight now for about four days. I haven't been watching my calories, just mainly my water, protein, and fiber...for obvious reasons, lol. But at first I hated myself for doing this, and was pretty depressed. I had no idea it was going to be anything like this, my doctor and/or his staff did not prepare me well at all. They made it seem so simple. Like a walk in the park.

How many calories is too few

Wow I am ending my third week and have been eating scrambled eggs mixed with almond milk, cottage cheese, chicken noodle soup, and very small pieces of cut up roasted chicken. Of course I can't get much of any of it in, and I chew until its pretty much mush, lol. But I still get my water in. I chose these items to eat because of the protein count in them. On a different note, can anyone tell me how long these glue bandage things are supposed to stay on for?
