I had my surgery May 12 2015. So far I have lost 72lbs. I told no one at work. I put in for 2 weeks vacation Which was enough time for me to have surgery and relax. It was the best decision for me. It was really no one business and like you. I wanted no negative comments. People always say how good I look and how much weight I lost. All I say is diet and exercise. You have to do what's best for you. Good luck

Hi my name is Melissa live in Ny Sleeve Surgery on May 12th. Recently hit 3 months Lost 52lbs so far. Feeling great I eat a lot of baked chicken and baked fish For breakfast I love my omelettes with cheese eggs and a little ham or bacon. (This covers my protein) I met a girl in the hospital who was having the same surgery turns out we don't live far from each other and had the Same surgeon. We have become good friends and each other support person thru this. We talk regularly about different Foods and the ups and downs. I'm super grateful for that -
I eat a lot of watermelon. It's 90% water. So it helps me when I'm not getting all my water in I so get tired of just drinking water all the time

I was out for two weeks and felt good going back. I was still a bit tired but it got better

Light headed and tired
mallen1895 replied to mzdonez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Believe me the tiredness will go away. For at least a month. I could no walk a few steps without stopping to rest. I live in NYC where you have to walk fast or get knocked over lol. It was tough for me. My doctor said keep drinking water and keep drinking the protein shakes and it really helped. I'm now 3 months postop and feel great -
What food do you miss after your weight loss surgery?
mallen1895 replied to raec81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally miss fried chicken. There is a Popeyes chicken two blocks from me. I smell the chicken all the time. All I think of is all the grease and it turns me off. I miss donuts and pancakes and a cold Pepsi. Although I had one waffle for breakfast the other day light butter and very little lite surgery. It was good and I had no problems. Basically the thing is portion size. None of us is perfect. We will all eat food that we shouldn't occasionally and that's ok. -
Marijuana Vaporization / Edibles Post-Op? ATTN: WEED SMOKERS
mallen1895 replied to jake__x's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Jake I am a recreation smoker as well. I had stopped smoking 2 months prior to surgery as advised by my doctor. My doctor told me to wait at least three months after surgery before I start back. My surgery was on May 12 2015. I have lost 52lbs so far. My three month period ended last week August 12th. I smoked for the first time this weekend. I had no problems at all it was great I did have the munchies feeling after I just made sure I had some fruit with me ate that and I was fine. Life does not end after you have the surgery like people think. I enjoyed my life just as I did before surgery. I pretty much eat the same food I did before minus soda and fried food. Just a lot less. I still have 40lbs to go before I reach my goal weight. I know I will make it. And will continue getting my little buzz along the way. Good luck -
Gang in there it will get better. My fist month after surgery I was so tired every day I could hardly walk a few steps without having to stop and rest. It was so hard. I'm now 3 months out and have no problems at all. It will get better in time

Just posing a question, not looking for an argument
mallen1895 replied to laguerr13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I first considered weight loss surgery. I had made up my mind about getting the band. After speaking with my primary doctor and my surgeon they both agreed the sleeve was the way to go. I had my sleeve surgery 3 months ago. I have since lost 52 pounds. This was the best decision I made. I had no complications at all. My only regret is Not doing this sooner. -
Wow you have all done well. Congrats too all of us. This is not easy but we are doing our thing
-
I'm at 3 months also. I'm down 52lbs. I'm going thru a stall right now also that's because I'm eating more. It seems that my stomach has heeled it takes more to get me full now. We just have to keep bat it. I just started at the gym this week
