May Sleevers...where are you?
mallen1895 replied to bvenegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Deb. Good luck on your surgery next week I will pray for you. I used to live in MD for 15 years now I'm back in NY. I had my surgery last Tuesday May 12th. So I'm now 4 days postop. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was very nervous and scared the day of my surgery. My surgery was Tuesday and I was back home on Wednesday. I had some soreness the first three days and was taking the pain meds they gave me. Today I woke up feeling a lot better. I have no problems drinking. You have to keep hydrated so I'm sipping water all day. I was lucky because I could keep food down so my doctor put me on soft foods when I left the hospital. My mom also took me and I went home with her I too live alone. Today I'm going back home I'm starting to feel better and need to get back to my routine. I still have one more week off from work to recover. You will be fine. Keep in mind why you doing this. Good luck. Keep in touch with how things are going. -

Conditional Approval? United Healthcare Oxford
mallen1895 replied to lauren8486's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They approve you pretty fast once everything is in. I have the same insurance. Once they submitted my paperwork. I got my approval within 5 business days. I had my surgery on May 12th. The only thing is they told me I had $500 deductible. The hospital is billing me for that and told me I can send in payments on that. Good luck to you -
My surgery was May 13th. I'm going back after the Memorial Day holiday which is May 26th

I had my surgery yesterday. I did not experience any gas. The worst part was drinking that nasty liquid for leak test. But they gave us a little cranberry juice after which made it better I left the hospital today and had some pain. But once I took the pain meds I felt better. I do not have a appetite at all. I'm looking forward to losing this weight. Summer is almost here. The best of luck to us all on this journey.

Hello all NYC here i have not posted in awhile. I have been going thru testing and my six month weigh in requirement. Im finally coming to an end of it next month. It's been a long road. My papers should be submitted to insurance this month. I'm hoping for my surgery in May I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I just have a question for my AA sisters. Loose Skin. I'm totally afraid of it. I have full boobs and butt. I would hate to lose that. Is there anyway around that after surgery. For the people that had their surgery how did the skin issue work for you .
