Cobrien-do what u have to do to live longer. most of us have been up and down in weight for a very long time.. so you may be a few pounds lighter today and then the ins. required weight in a month. Yes, the band is a tool and if you are obese you deserve the opportunity to see if it will help you. I say: Call your ins. co. ask them to send you your guidelines in writing and then go see a surgeon after you are certain that you meet the ins. requirements. Don't allow life to happen to you ,make life happen for you!

I called the ins. co. today ( I have been calling 2x a day lately) and the rep. told me that the letter was being mailed today. I called surgeon's office and I have a band date of Sept.9 , holla! Thank you all for your prayers. FYI: it took approx: 2 1/2 weeks to get approval. (not bad considering they lost some of my info.)

August is already full for schmitt. i don't know why its taking them so long to schedule u. yeah i would call in the am

girl I am a bonafide stalker. nobody can escape me. not bcbs and not naomi! Girl call and say it is an emergency if they put u on hold don't hang up! Now naomi is notorious tor not getting back with u. There is a miles and schmitt thread on LBT. U can read similar complaints there. Now she did say that she is having trouble withbht email. But still.... Call call call. Have u been approved yet?

hey girl! Welcome to the group. Who's doing your surgery if u don't mind me asking? I started this process back in December. I completed by six month diet in may ( actually June 2 or3 but I had to do a second one in June because they wouldn't count it as a may visit) anywhoo my paperwork was sent to Ins. in July (2nd) after having to result some documents that ins lost, I was approved on the 22 of July I have to do a support group meeting, and see the nutritionist in august and then I have a preop visit in sept andy surgery is sept 9

thanks yall for the prayers and well wishes. Sxevan: how much longer do u have. U know I did the six visits. Actually seven because of a scheduling mix up. angel: when do u get banded ? I say do what's on your heart. Most of us have been neglecting ourselves for so long now its our time to shine.

hey travellady, Exactly! I think that we r saying the same thing. U know him better than anyone. Maybe its just his way. I hope u didnt take offense to my previous post. Did I sound too straight forward? I just want to keep you encouraged. God knows u all keep me going and focused. I know that everything is going to turn out just fine.

travelady: rule #1: know your boy u know him better than any of us on this forum so think to yourself why is your dh not being fanatical about this whole process? Maybe it's not his style. Think about your life with him ad how he acts in different situations. Maybe its just his way if coping and dealing. Now throw in the money factor. That brings on another set of reactions. My dh is supportive but from the sidelines. Very much limited to: great! Or happy for you! Now if my ins didnt cover it? Let's just say Houston we have a problem. Its not that he doesn't love me enough its just that I have to remember rule # 1 know your boy. Mine is very practical. So....I guess what I am saying is right now you have got to love big and love hard. Love yourself enough to get healthy and love him enough to be patient while he wraps his head around this whole issue. My good friend gave me this advice: when people r not supportive or understanding, stop holding that conversation with that person. Find common ground and stick to that in the meantime handle your business with your ALS and journey to good health. God bless!

Congratulations! Pretty soon they won't be able to say "she sure can dance for a big girl":biggrin: Don't worry about the rush before surgery, you've made it this far you can do anything.

I am an emo eater also. My episodes are primarily triggered by stress-especially at work. I have been doing some serious thinking about how I am gonna deal with this after I am banded. I believe that I am gonna have to make some serious adjustments in my life to maximize my band. I need to do me. When it comes to work I can't do 200% anymore - its killing me. I can't afford to eat my way through it anymore. I am seriously thinking about leaving administration and going back into the classroom until I get my health together.
