aprilapple replied to AngelLove's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Angel- I wish I could get a fill as soon as you . Are you feeling restriction? How can you tell. I am so trying to learn this band. I am trying new foods but I am scared at the same time . I am really liking chicken salad because it is soft. How is it going for you? -
Awesome album! You definitely have a love affair with the camera. I can only describe it as bold, fierce, confident, sassy, vibrant.....Holla!

aprilapple replied to sxevan9's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
alright! Your date will be here before you know it! I know how excited you must feel! Keep us posted! -
You have slipped a little but you haven't fallen. In past diet attempts, if I slipped I would continue to sabotage my diet by not starting over. I am determined that if I slip now I will pick myself Right back up. All is not lost girlfriend, pick up and start again tomorrow. We are all behind you !

Banded and very very sore...
aprilapple replied to Sistergrl25's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
congrats girl keep us updated on your healing and way to go on your weightloss -
Since your band will be with you for a very long time, what will you name her? I think I might go with "Beyonce" I'll just call her "B" for short. So my short conversations would go kinda like this: "Beyonce is working this weight off of me" "B" is trippin' (when I'm pbing)" "Beyonce" won't let me eat that" "This is not in B's diet plan" ROFLMAO! (I got inspiration for this thread from another forum)

Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At
aprilapple replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh honey, I am so sorry to hear that. I have been down that road before so I OVERSTAND your pain but ir does get better. Get healthy and stay positive. -
I am so jealous and I really don't have a jealous bone in my body! I have the realize band (9cc) which is installed empty. I don't get my first fill until Oct.22 which is 6 weeks post op. That's my doc's requirement. It's so weird because I feel like I am flying solo even though there is suppose to be some restriction just because the band is there but I have these eating restrictions. I am still trying to figure it all out.

Congrats debbi! Glad to see that you are recovering well. What kind of band did you get?

September Banders,How long will you take off work?
aprilapple posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi ya'll, how many days r u planning to take off from work after your surgery? My surgery is scheduled for Tues. Sept 9th. I have taken off the 9-12. That gives me 4 work days and 2 weekend days before work the following Monday. So that is a total of 6 days. Is that enough time? I am also off on the Monday before surgery for labor day. I have heard of people taking less time but I think the doc is going to fix a hiatal hernia during the surgery also(is anyone else getting a dual procedure?) so I wanted to be on the safe side. -
Had Surgery 9-10-08 and feelin good
aprilapple replied to AngelLove's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have the realize. It is installed without fluid so I have to wait until 10/22 for a fill. I am suppose to have a little restriction just because the band is there, but I can't really tell. I start mushies tomorrow for two weeks. Since I am doing most of the work on my own until the first fill, I am trying to follow my post op diet. I lost 11 lbs by day 8 after surgery and I am still there. But that's OK I guess. -
Note to self: Get some biotin! I actually have very thick hair but am wearing sew ins to grow it out (for good this time) I just had some saga indian remy taken down(loved it!) Its great for a silky straight look but also does well with rollers. It can't take a lot of heat or heavy greasy products. I currently have VIP yacky remy. I bought the yacky remy because it has a little more texture and I need to be able to flat Iron the style that I am wearing (lovin' it). I still don't use greasy heavy products You have to be careful with remy cause you don't want to look like a wet cat. Besides it costs too much money to mess up! Also, if you use product you are gonna need to shampoo it at least every 1 1/2 weeks. My picks: Aveda all the way! I use the Light Elements Smoothing Fluid ($24) for sheen on the saga remy and I use it to flat iron the yacky remy. It is very light weight, high gloss and yields great results. I also use the Aveda Brilliance Anti-Humectant pomade ($19) for fly aways and shine. I swear by them on my on hair as well. You will never go back to another product! The Shampure is great conditioner and shampoo if you are washing it yourself. If your stylist is not use to working with remy feel free to let her know that it can't take a lot of heat or oil (grease in the dirty dirty) I hope this helps. Let me know how you hair turns out

Dr. Miles or Dr. Schmitt patients

Hey Wendy, I stepped out on faith and tried the unflavored whey again. I mixed: 8 oz soy milk and 1/2 cup ice (blend) add 1 scoop slim fast optima strawberry shake and 1 scoop unflavored whey (blend well until no lumps) add 1 banana and blend yields 1 pitcher of shake and plenty of protein It was delicious I almost chugged it down! OMG! I have been so stressed about not getting enough protein. Now I am ready to experiment with other flavors like the chocolate with peanut butter. -

First of all what the heck is a cabbage roll? I mean I know food but that one has stumped me. Secondly, that lady was just stereotyping you all the way. May be you should have said "no I can't make cabbage rolls, but I am famous for my pancakes. Perhaps you have seen my picture on the box?" I just have to ask. which Walmart were you in? When is your surgery date? I haven't heard from you in a while. How's it going? -
I had surgery on a Tuesday and had planned to go back that next Monday. I did not go back until the next Tuesday. I actually wish I had two weeks off. Not because of pain but because by two weeks you will be ready for soft foods and have adjusted to the idea that you just had surgery.
