Poll - Democrat or Republican?
aprilapple replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
where is a moderator when you need one? Look grown ups we all knew that when we subscribed to this thread that it was controversial. If a poster says something that you don't like, respond and move on. Period. Stumpy arms or not Muslim or not, move on! Now much love to all of my banded people. Now with that said, does you know who actually believe that obama is a church going Muslim? That post was both confusing and amusing at the same time! -

lol I actually thought about how the virtual models would look with saggy skin! There is another website that uses your actual photo. I need to take a full body pic so that I can do that one. It's www.weightview.com -
Now anne, you do realize that you just created a new thread for people to argue and attack! :biggrin:Sorry girl but I couldn't resist. I hope that people take it for what it is. A place to rant off topic and receive wls support.

Oh Jack, you could make the end of the world sound like Thoreau. I love it! I should call you Jack Frost as in Robert Frost. So Jack where I'm from we would say "Chile, you gon' get fat!" he he

OMG! It is so different being on this side of the band. I keep touching my port kinda like a pregnant woman touches her belly-incredulous! Hmm.. What everyone said about gas was very true for me. Have all meds. on hand as well as food for liquids and other stages of eating. I cleaned (think nesting). Especially my kitchen. I organized cabinets and even created a special place for Protein, drink mixes etc. I have the realize band. It is installed without fill but you are suppose to have restriction simply because of placement. So I am learning my band. My doc. will not do the first fill until 6 weeks out! I lost 11lbs from day of surgery to 8 days post op. However, it took 1 1/2 more weeks to lose 2 lbs. I think it is because I have started eating more protein in meat form like grilled fish, chicken salad and moist roasted chicken-that really surprised me. I thought that since I did not have any fill that I would start gaining after I started eating food. I hope this helps.

Poll - Democrat or Republican?

Yes but she can see Russia from her house... or as one CNN contributor put it "I can see the moon from my backyard but that doesn't make me an astrophysicist." -
Now I am big on attack the issue and not the person. In this case I don't think she was being disrespectful. I think she was just having fun with the rant. I hope no one felt personally attacked. It just didn't come off that way to me. I hope I'm right.

Funny yet makes the point so well!

I agree with that sentiment.

I repeat: What about McCain's behavior (re: last night's debate)? How is it that a Rep. has not posted their disappointment with that? That behavior was shameful. It demonstrated that Bush is not the only high functioning moron in the Rep. Party.

If I wanted to play the race card, I could deal the whole deck. I am just simply calling a "spade a spade" lol! I am not saying that all Republicans feel this way. However, there are some that do. If Republicans scare that easily, then that shows they lack confidence and competence. It's amazing to me that in everything that was said in the op the racial issue is the only thing that received a comment. What about McCain's behavior? How is it that a Rep. has not posted their disappointment with that? That behavior was shameful. It demonstrated that Bush is not the only high functioning moron in the Rep. Party.

Thanks for sharing! That article reassures me that there are Republicans that are willing to admit the obvious.

When you find that people are not supportive follow this rule: "stop having That conversation with THAT person." Best wishes. -
Mission accomplished! I got to rant and extend an olive branch to you s-n-t. Common ground is a heck of a thing that unites people. Palin is the scariest of all! To say to a major news anchor in a major media outlet "I am sure there is a list, I'll get back to ya" or something like that is outrageous. Also, to add insult to injury the Rep. defended her. She should have been exiled to the maritime border that her state shares with Russia so that when Putin rears his head she could see the world laughing at her. Did I go too far? Wonk Wonk...

Poll - Democrat or Republican?

Exactly, LB. I forgot to mention how angry McCain seems. He is bitter. Warmonger is a great way to describe the old man. -
I posted the following in another thread but I though t that it would be appropriate here as well. I am sorry to be repetitive but it is something that I needed to get off of my chest: There are Republicans that have expressed through various forums and media outlets that they are disappointed with their party BUT can't bring themselves to vote for Obama because he is "scary". Was there a memo sent that officially adopted using this adjective to describe Obama? There are also Republicans that will not vote for Obama because of his skin color (there may be some Dem. that have crossed over because of this as well), they have also tried to plant lies claiming that he is a Muslim and when they type his name they will put HUSSEIN in all caps to drive home their point. This is the USA and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would respect the Rep. more if they admitted that their main issue with Obama is skin color and his name. Not the cliche' of inexperience (they support Palin for crying out loud and will defend her stupidity -yes I said it - on the issues). Ahhh, but they fool themselves and try to fool America by saying that his skin color or name does not matter. Bull shiggity! But to their defense, they are simply following the tone and demeanor of their leader McCain. Last night, this was validated through his actions. He looked away when shaking Obama's hand. He would not even look at him even after the moderator, Jim Leher instructed the candidates to do so (and no, the fact that he has an adopted daughter from Bangladesh will not be accepted as evidence to the contrary, nor will the I have a black friend rule be allowed) McCain was undignified, condescending, and insulting. He looked very familiar to a southern girl like myself. I was waiting for him to say that he would "stand in the white house doors"-re: Gov. George Wallace- before he would see Obama as president. Those of us that have experienced intolerance and discrimination witnessed an all too familiar scene. Think about it: For those that have struggled with discrimination or intolerance because of your weight. You KNOW when someone is treating you "differently" regardless of how subtle the gesture. Then, they would feign innocence or use the "I have a fat friend" cop out. No I am not "paranoid" or a "conspiracy theorist." The same was said of civil rights workers (strange fruit was a figment of their imagination I guess). It is what it is. I applaud Obama for remaining dignified and focused as he was name called in a public forum . I wonder how he learned that life skill? Experience, perhaps? I throw down the gauntlet to anyone that begs to differ. As we say where I am from ,"Republicans there's no future in your frontin'!" You are the ones that are truly scary.
