Hey girl! Actually I did not decide until my pre-op visit which was the Friday before my Monday Surgery. My Dr. basically made the decision for me. I had read up on both bands and was prepared to go with the New AP or the Realize. Well, I think my Dr. has just recently decide to do mainly realize. He did say that it was a shorter procedure and that meant less time for me on the table and under anesthesia which decreased the chance of clots and complications. The only down side is that it is installed without fill and so you are on your own until six weeks after surgery. I lost 11 lbs one week out so that's not too bad.
