    Post Something POSTIVE Thread

All I can say is "wow". This is a beautiful thread. Positive: 1. I avoided the scale this weekend because I just knew that I had gained weight as I moved to solid foods. I got on the scale this morning and I actually lost 1lb! 2. I am unsubscribing to rants and political threads that are not contributing to my weight loss journey. I am subscribing to more threads like this one!
  2. My story is like Michee. I told my immediate supervisor that I had hernia surgery. My eating wasn't questioned at all because of that.
  3. 1. hyperbole:extreme exaggeration 2. fatso: inappropriate extreme exaggeration when used to refer to a fellow bandster (IMO) 3. I read your original post before it was edited. Personal attacks again? Go pick a fight somewhere else. I have no interest in engaging with you. sidebar: I bet my lapband that well enough will not be left alone.
  4. Yes. Exactly. I guess I was thinking about so much but typed so little. Have your Dr. orders ready. Perhaps I was thinking that once you cleared it through Human resources, you would not have to reveal certain things to your supervisors or management? Also, whatever you reveal to your employer, he/she must keep it confidential unless you give permission.
  5. Legally, you don't have to give up your medical information to your boss. Just say that you have health issues that you had to resolve and you are still under Dr care.
  6. Attacking public figures (whether we agree with the attack or not ) should be fair game. Attacking fellow bandsters (fatso?) should be off limits. :crying:

  10. Hey girl! Actually I did not decide until my pre-op visit which was the Friday before my Monday Surgery. My Dr. basically made the decision for me. I had read up on both bands and was prepared to go with the New AP or the Realize. Well, I think my Dr. has just recently decide to do mainly realize. He did say that it was a shorter procedure and that meant less time for me on the table and under anesthesia which decreased the chance of clots and complications. The only down side is that it is installed without fill and so you are on your own until six weeks after surgery. I lost 11 lbs one week out so that's not too bad.

  12. Thank you Jack for your post. The bigger picture or point I was trying to make was that this "thread" exists so that we can rant, rave, hoot , or holler. I know that it is the Lounge( minor point). Part B was on target.
  13. I think she is referring to me and she has gone too far. First of all this thread exists so that we can rant or rave about a political candidate, not insult fellow bandsters. I will not engage in that with you. Secondly, you don't know anything about me. You only know what I have posted. How I feel about a candidate and other issues is my choice and as a responsible professional I keep that separate from work. Now, because I posted that I think Palin is a moron politically, you attack me personally? For you my dear, the anonymity of the Internet is a blessing. I tell you what. I will pm you my demographics. On Monday, walk up to someone that fits my demographics and say that to them. I never said that I was a teacher. Do your homework and check your facts (psst...here's a hint-take a look at my profile) Vocabulary????
  14. I am like indigo girl I don't have a full degree in politics either. Actually, I have a degree in history with a minor in political science I also have a masters degree in education and a class a teachers certification with an emphasis in history (which was earned by the age of 24) as well as a class a certification in educational leadership and administration. I could run circles around most people in conversations regarding politics and American political, economic, and social development. However, this is a give your opinion, hoot, holler, rant and rave thread. If I choose to give my opinion without any follow- up well that's called perogative. It does not mean that I am ignorant to the issues or that I can't make my case. I am well qualified to go toe to toe with fact spitting posters. This is validated by my educational background. It is this same background that has led me to determine that palin is a moron. Retarded in her views and attack dog style of politics. By the way, if Obama is elected to the presidency, will those true blue, country first Americans still remain patriotic?
  15. Awesome pics that you posted! Congrats on the weight loss.

WHY are people voting for McCain?

s-n-t you are a hot mess girl! I just posted on the woman vp thread and I am sure I will be assaulted for my statement. Come on over with your solution for crime and help a sista out!
  20. Logically, she is a high functioning moron.
  21. Let's stop the blame game. Palin does a pretty good job at making herself look like a moron.

  23. I can not wait until Palin debates Biden. That is going to be hilarious! It will be even funnier watching republicans try to justify her performance.
