I figure I will keep following the rules and keep diabetes away. Size is not as important to me as good health. I am 5 foot 10 so am tall. I am not even sure what size I am now. I just know that clothes are looser which is nice.

Finally on the right road
susan55063 replied to Angelyaya5's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I commend you Jodi. We are never to old to live a healthier life style. No matter what our age. I noticed how different people treat me now. My weight is coming off pretty rapidly. Makes me wonder. I am still the same person. Why would size make a difference? I am still adjusting to the comments. That is kind of one of the strange things you would think I would jump with joy. Instead I feel a little on display and I am not overly fond of that. I prefer to be in the background. You will do awesome. -
I am post Surgery. Date of surgery 8/11/2014. I never have been a real patient person but talk about Moody. All over the map. small things aggravate me. I hope this phase is short. Has anyone else experienced this? I know for me I am post menopausal so must have a different cause. Just curious if it was common.

Oh I have such a hard time with the protein powders. Last 2 days I have been vomiting them up. I am looking at the chicken one from the Unjury and some unflavored. I am finding some of the powders sickly sweet. . I am hoping the change may help. I recognize I "have" to try to get them in. I am hoping this change will make it easier. Is kind of weird I used to like sweet now . YUCK.

Where do you find comfort?
susan55063 replied to superbariatricbabe's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had my surgery August 11th. A word of advice is be patient with yourself in the time after surgery. I know I personally have gone through many changes. I have to say though I do not feel hungry. I still prepare meals for my husband like I always have and it seriously does not bother me. I do read a lot and get bariatric recipes and research healthier choices. I enjoy cooking so that has helped me. I have found though I am moody. Could be all the chemical changes. Just remember rome was not built in a day. Retraining the mind is a big part of this journey In my opinion. I have lost 32 pounds in less than a month. Good luck on your Journey and remember if there are cravings they do past. I have been one of the lucky ones and I really do not at least at this point have a lot of desire for food. -
Not sure if this will help or not but there is a Book called Emotional First Aide Kit that addresses so many of the issues surrounding Bariatric Surgery. I know before I started this journey I knew several people who had done this and had gained every bit of their weight back. I did this for health reasons of course will be nice losing the weight. However I want to be as armed as possible. I did not go through all this to gain it back. Also I have had people say: "don't you remember so and so who did that and look at them now. One thing is what is going on with "them" is their journey not mine. I hate it when people cast stereotypes. I do see how important it is to stick with my resolve, Address issues right away and not wait, See the surgeon on scheduled visits. Make Health and fitness a high priority. Because I live in a rural community there is not a lot for support groups locally. Thank goodness for technology. I hope to use this site as much as I can. Is a way to get and give support with people in or close to the same place.

Mood Swings after Roux en Y

That sounds about right. LOL I was cooking for my husband last night (which not being hungry at all does not bother me) however me and the mixer had words last night. Needless to say I now need a new mixer. -

RNY 7/31- Feeling extremely regretful
susan55063 replied to jgarcia323's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I had my surgery last Monday August 11th. Tonight I had my first experience with dumping. Was rather unpleasant. Since the surgery I am moody. Not used to that. I hope I feel like myself soon.
