My Success! I feel amazing!
DizzyLib replied to Queen P's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
WOW!!!!!! You look amazing, congratulations!!! -
Hopefully it was just gas but everyone be careful because these symptoms can also be from a complication from surgery being a partially or collapsed lung...so always get checked asap!

...And as for the more personal relationships in your life that have, over the years, nagged you, belittled you, or in anyway made you feel "less" worthy than them because of your weight - they deserve an explanation least of all. Don't give them the satisfaction." Love that part The Candidate how true!!!

Lose Half a pound a day??? R u kidding thats ridiculous dont let your surgeon ruin your efforts! See your Nut and discuss your concerns with your nutrition balance, you deserve more support

I started around 3 months, getting worse now nearing 4 mths. Get my vitamins, protein & water in. Just think the op is a shock to the body plus we cannot get the nutrients required for a while so the effects of that kick in. Hair follicles go through different hair growth cycles, not all growing at same time, so it will come back and thicken eventually...i hope hehe

Drinking and eating at same time- Do you wait 30 minutes?
DizzyLib replied to ab123.'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do 30 mins before & after, so that i have room to eat and that food doesn't get flushed out of my tummy too soon...seems to work well, more seems overkill -
WOW thats amazing, well done!!!

7 months out and experiencing shivers
DizzyLib replied to AngelaE's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Shivering usually means fever...have you taken your temp? I'd get checked by Doc for infection asap -
I can't believe it's been so long since I've blogged!!! Life has been busy with my new routine, eating, sipping, sipping, eating, exercising, sipping...who would have thought but I don't mind, all the changes I've had to adapt to, as I have lost 25.9kg (57 pounds) in 13 weeks (including 2wk pre-op diet). People are now taking notice of my weightloss but I just tell them "Yes, I've been working hard". Today I went shopping and bought a size 16 top!! I was size 22/24 before surgery! I am so happy I had my sleeve. I am 56 and to think I will never have to waste my money on another diet or diet book or gimmick again! I am putting all my spare cash into future travel when I will be able to walk around all the tourist sites I've dreamed about without hobbling or having to sit down! I still have a way to go but it's amazing. I just follow the rules and every week I am lighter than the week before. Continued Success To Everyone!

WOW look at you! amazing result!!!

Yes, get another opinion Lisa. They often do surgery for people under BMI 35 if they have co-morbidities and the family history that you appear to have. Have some blood tests done to check on diabetes or to back up your reasons. His excuse about not sticking to previous diets and not losing weight is ridiculous. None of us have!!!! Don't give up! https://www.nationalbariatriclink.org/comorbidities-insurancequalification.html list for co-morbidities examples

Are you following a Paleo Diet?
DizzyLib replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
While i understand many aspects of Paleo Diet are healthy i dont follow it completely. Our Paleo ancestors only lived to about 35 yrs of age so cant see how that diet is "all that"!!! I am trying "clean eating" instead, like you eating everything as close to natural as possible but not deleting complex grains, legumes or dairy. -

Choosing Fat over Sugar?
DizzyLib replied to DizzyLib's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone for your input. Guess its a bit of a process, trying new choices and seeing if it works. Just so badly want to get all those unhelpful old "dieting" rules out of my mind and daily life. -
Hi, I'm really wanting to get rid of "diet" foods, after decades using them. I've been "food label" comparing lately and there is definately more Sugar in diet or low-fat foods eg. Cottage/ ricotta cheese, yoghurt, sauces, etc. I now feel only using lowfat dairy foods eg. Cheese/milk and forgetting about the rest. What has worked for you?

Chest Pain/Hurts when I breathe in deep
DizzyLib replied to Luvjaky513's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank goodness! I had a partially collapsed lung after surgery, a very long time ago, your post brought it back. Make sure you do deep breathing exercises and use one of those plastic "incentive spirometre" with the ping ping balls to increase your lung power! As it can take some time to resolve -
Chest Pain/Hurts when I breathe in deep
DizzyLib replied to Luvjaky513's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could be your lungs, please get checked -
Baby Food is only for emergencies! There is not enough protein in it for an adult. Protein enriched soups, casseroles blended are a much better choice.
