I joined BariatricPal in 2014. Thats when i was seriously considering the sleeve surgery. Took me 7 years to finally make up my mind and to be honest, so far, I don't regret it. Wasn't easy the first few days post-op when I had to let go of an old friend of mine. (Food). Even though it hasn't been long since surgery, I am in awe of how the mind adapts and survives. I feared cross-addiction but this procedure really brings out the good in me and I feel much stronger and more clarity as the days pass by. As the weight melts off day by day, new positive discoveries about myself that either I've long forgotten or just never knew existed, reveal themselves. What a ride! What a deep deep ride.
What I hope I gain out of this new life, better health and ultimately this aesthetic change?
New long lasting and deep relationships with people to begin with. Though ive always considered myself an affable man, I know I've let beautiful souls slip away from my life. I hope BariatricPal will help me find more of these soul-connections as I read more and more posts of like-minded folks who share whats obvious to be one of a few life-altering experiences.
God speed one and all !
