    Social Life

I miss beer! I was never a wine or hard liquor drinker, they bring out my evil side. I could always handle beer much better. I don't go out that often but when I do(once a month at most), I'd really like to have beer. Will this really stretch out my pouch????

    What's on your Playlist?

oooohhh!!! I think of Billy Madison every time I hear I'll tumble 4 ya too!!! It makes me so happy. I love all of the songs Aveamora listed. Anyone who likes Sabotage and Mambo Italiano in the same playlist is okay on my list. Very eclectic, you must have a very well rounded personality. Rock on, sista!

    Coloing Hair Post-Op?

I have no idea why that is, unless you color it yourself and they think you will strain yourself holding your arms up around your head. But 6 months??? That's extreme. I had my hair colored 3 weeks post-op with no problems at all, but I didn't do it myself.
  9. Banded 12/11/07. I've only lost 19 pounds but that includes the 6 pounds I lost on the two week pre-op liquid diet. I get my first fill on Monday 1/21/08. I just started exercising last week. I was afraid if I started too soon I'd injure something in my abdomen, like I did in week 2 post-op. Doc says I ripped a stitch through the muscle. Ouch!

    Am I becoming obsessive?

Whats a cardio cinema? Does it mean you get to watch a movie while working out?
  11. I was just banded on 12/11/07. I have not yet had a fill. I find my upper stomach fills up quickly, but my lower half is still hungry and growling. Does this go away after the fills begin? I've noticed it has improved a little this week, and maybe I'm getting used to the smaller portions. It's probably all in my head. I know a lot of my hunger is mental vs. physical. Anyone else have this problem? :hungry:

    Exercise and Port Pain

I had surgery on 12/11. Felt so good by 12/17 that I overdid and ended up in the ER on 12/19. Rested like the surgeon told me too after that and now I feel awesome! I was so worried the pain would never subside, but it has. I love my band. I am worried that now the swelling has gone down, I 'm starting to have an appetite for more food. It's going to seem like forever unitl my first fill on Jan 22.
  13. I JUST HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS AmyKayRN! I was feeling better and better until Monday (12/17) afternoon. I must have lifted or pulled or bent down the wrong way. My left side started to ache. Then the aching worsened and it hurt to take a deep breath. By the next day I felt more sore than i did the first day after surgery. I finally went to the ER on Wed 12/19. I thought for sure I had a hernia on the left side by my port. CT scan came back perfect. The surgeon said i must have tore the muscle or possibly ripped a stitch. I couldn't believe that could cause so much pain! He told me to rest and the pain should be better by today. IT IS!! I obviously overdid it on Monday. Learn from my mistakes and rest up for at least 2 weeks post op.
  14. I am two days post-op. When I first came out of surgery I guess I was crying and moaning, "What did I just do to myself??". I felt much better six hours later (I guess the pain meds finally kicked in). The liquid vicodin really took the edge off and helped me sleep. I'm home now and today's battle was left shoulder pain. I was told its trapped air (the surgeon blasts a lot of air in you while doing the procedure). I took my liq Vicodin (tastes horrid), placed the heating pad on my shoulder and rested. I feel soooo much better now.
  15. I'm not due for my surgery until 12/11/07 but my surgeon is suturing my band, and after reading all of these posts I'm glad he is.
