Pre op depression
Teresah18 replied to Wisdom2KnowTheDifference's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is normal guys. The pre-op diet is for several reasons... To help shrink your liver before surgery, to show your commitment to your new diet and lifestyle and to help you lose weight. Things will get better once you have your surgery and start seeing your weight loss progress. I'm 3 months out and feeling great! It's amazing the things I can do after losing 35 pounds that I couldn't do before! Good luck and keep up the good work!! -
flavorless protein powders?
Teresah18 replied to veeleexb's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Syntrax makes a flavorless Nectar.. One scoop is 10G protein. I mix it in my yogurt and get 33 grams. Add in some granola and that's another 10grams for breakfast -
I wish I could give you answers but I haven't had this happen. When I had my fluid taken out, I still was feeling some restrictions. After my fill, I don't feel as restricted but I just keep watching what I eat so I won't gain weight. Try really chewing your food, limiting portions and walking away after 20 minutes even if you have food left. It takes at least 20 for the brain to signal that you are full. Hope this helps you some

2nd Procedure-Waiting for Insurance Approval
Teresah18 replied to GypsyLady's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The waiting before and after meals is extremely important! Keeps you from over eating. I use Matrix protein powder and Bariatric Advantage chewable multi vitamin. I also take biotin for hair loss. Was banded May 22,2014. Lost 35 pounds so far! -
Congrats to you all!
Teresah18 replied to Bandster1019's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations! I agree with every one else. Follow the diet exactly as instructed by your Dr and you will be fine. I didn't have soft food until week 3. But I started my Protein Shakes back once I started my full liquids again. Good luck and check with your Dr! -
Oh wow! Sorry to hear that. The only time mine ever hurt was when I had to go to emergency room to have fluid removed after food got stuck. ER Dr couldn't find port so they called my surgeon. He got it first stick. On my fill, I didn't even know when he stuck me.

Started at 304...298 at surgery in May. I've now lost a total of 35 pounds which puts me at 269.2 and I'm 3 months out. No regrets having surgery!

Read this if you're in pain after surgery

Dayana4100... hunger is normal after banding. Are you still on liquids? If so you need to drink something every 2 hours to help with the hunger and get your protein in. Trust me you made the right choice!! ???? Banded 5-22-14 lost 35lbs so far!! -
It may not seem like much but I eat 6 small meals a day. My surgery was 3 months ago and so far I've lost 35 pounds!

Liquid in band at time of surgery
Teresah18 replied to blacktxbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 2cc in my band when it was placed. It was removed when I had food get stuck. It was replaced on my first fill in June. I'm waiting for my second fill 8-29-14. -
I'm not sure what kind of surgery you had to really comment. My nutritionist told me to eat 60-80 grams of protein a day, less than 15 grams of carbs per meal and less than 5 grams of fat per meal. I'm not to worry about calories although I never take in more than 900 a day. I had lap band surgery.
