I just went to my 2 week Post-Op visit with the Pulmonary Doctor and she said 4 - 6 weeks before getting on a airplane. The concern is blood clots (Thrombosis)

I should be able to go home today. I need 3 doctors to clear me. My surgeon just cleared me, now I need Pulmonary and internist to sign off. I am looking forward to going home. I do have to go home with the drain tube for 1 week. I also has a Hiatal Hernia repaired with my sleeve surgery.

I am also having surgery tomorrow. Need to be at the Hospital at 10:30 AM. Don't forget to come back and tell us how it went. I had my Lap-Band removed 3 months ago. Now I am revising to the sleeve.

Hi Cubs Win. I am also having Gastric Sleeve with the Kane Center (Dr. Rantis) the day before you 02/27/14. I had Lap-Band in March 2008 and had it removed in November 2013. I am revising to Gastric Sleeve, I had to wait 3 months for my stomach and esophagus to heal from 5 years of Lap-Band. Are you having your surgery in Elk Grove (Alexian Brothers) or Hoffman Estates (St. Alexius) ? I am having mine in Elk Grove. I am doing the Pre-Op Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement shakes right now. I just did my Pre-Op Blood work, EKG and Chest X-Ray today. I had my Lap Band Removed and Hiatal Hernia repaired last month (11/04/13). I got approved for Sleeve surgery next week 12/31/13. I went for my pre-op testing (Chest XRay, Upper GI, Blood work, Pulmonary Testing) and they said I still have a Hiatal Hernia that he is going to repair when they do the sleeve on Tuesday. The doctor's nurse/assistant said it was a Recurring Hernia. I don't understand how this could happen. I didn't lift anything that weighed more than a gallon of milk and I have not thrown up since having the band removed. Has anybody else have this ? I am starting to doubt my surgeons skill set. I am using the same surgeon that placed my lap-band in 2008, removed the band and repaired a hernia last month. I wasn't feeling nervous until I received this phone call today.

I was banded on March 26, 2008. I had my first fill in April (2 cc in my 10 cc band). If I do not carefully chew, food gets stuck. I stay full after a meal for 4 - 5 hours with no problems. I have lost 28 lbs in 3 months. I am scheduled for my 2nd fill today. I don't really feel like I need a fill. I am going to the doctor anyway, since I have only been back 2 times since my surgery. Anyone else feeling restricted with so little in their band ? :thumbup:

1hotmama, where are you in Schaumburg ? I would like a walking partner. I live about 3 miles West of Alexian Brothers Hospital (Dr. Rantis's Office). I have not updated my Ticker yet, but I have lost 28 lbs since surgery. and a total of 56 lbs since December 3, 2007. That is when I started my 90 day weight loss for the insurance company to cover the surgery. I have only had 1 fill of 2 cc's in April. I know it sounds odd, but I feel some restriction with just 1 fill. I am scheduled for my 2nd fill on Thursday, July 3. My band is a 10 cc band. :smile2: Bill'sWife - How are you doing ?
