Frustrated... But trying to hang in. I am 6 weeks post op.. Lost 20 lbs in the first two weeks.. Now NOTHING for a month... I am a busy radiology RN and walk all day long.. Getting 80 grams of protein, usually enough water, and am eating 800-900 cal a day... I trying to be patient and just ignore the stall... Urgggggg painful it seems slow...

    Protein Drinks

I am 5 weeks out and also have a shake in the morning... Just easier to get at least 20 grams in with no problem.. I like designer whey protein.. Comes i vanilla, choc and strawberry...i like it because it isnt to sweet (a big issue with me) favorite combos for me are vanilla protein with half a banana and a tablespoon of PB2 powder or vanilla protein and frozen mango chunks ( trader joes ) Yummy!

    Just got home

I was sleeved aug. 20th, and i wont lie, the first two days sucked! I had trouble getting water down and it was very painful, on day 3 it loosened up and i was able to take a normal size drink, i dont have any pain now, bit my incisions are itching like crazy... I too get pretty pooped by 3 pm. Congrats on your decision, it is a mental game for me, but i try to keep my eye on the prize, i am down 16 lbs since surgery... I think about that when i feel a little hungry, but thank goodness it passes quickly

Had my Sleeve Aug 20, 2014

Hi Ban... I too was sleeved aug. 20th, so far pretty happy, i spent last night mourning food as well. I think this is normal, and i think we have to wrap our head around the permanence of our decision... Im down 14 lbs since surgery and trying not to think about food (still on liquids) i am focusing on the prize of this journey.. To be healthy and happy.... I keep repeating a phrase that i learned the 9 times i joined weight watchers over the years... " nothing tastes as good as thin feels" good luck to you and stay strong!

    Liquid Pre-Op on Wed

What sort of prepacked meal is it? How many days pre-op are you? My surgeon only required me to be on liquid the day before surgery.. I had lost 20 lbs over the 5 months when i started me journey...if you cant tolerate the pre-packed food... Ask if you can make your own with similar nutritional value... That may help. I ate a lot of blackened tilapia during my wait lose... Yummy and low fat with lots of protein and flavor... Good luck! I was sleeved 8/20... Feeling good, minimal pain... Still drinking protein shakes, down 36 lbs overall. Good luck to you ????
  12. I meant i know have.... Darn auto correct! Lol
  13. I am 5 days post op and actually feeling great.. I was also told not to use a straw, but a good friend of mine that had gastric bypass( i was sleeved) said using a straw helped a lot to get the fluids down. I tried not to use one the first day i got home, but it was so difficult getting the fluid down that i tried a straw the next day and it made all the sifference for me.. I was careful not to swallow air at the same time. I know how no trouble with fluids at all...
  14. I would report that surgeon to the hospital medical board and tell the exactly what he said!
