I had my surgery done robotically on July 28 & my only issue in the hospital was the anesthesia. I got up the next morning & walked my laps around the floor. I sipped my water & that night they added crystal lite, was good. Next morning I had a protein shake, drank it in about an hour & went home @ 11 that morning. I took a Tylenol 2 days later, other than that I took no pain meds. I'm on stage 4 now, mashing up my food isn't so bad. It's just amazing how full you get so fast on so little. I made the mistake tonight of eating a bite too much of my egg salad......feel uncomfortable now. I really didn't know what to expect & it surely is not taking the easy way out, but I'm glad I did it. I do no regret it & I think I had it easy. I hope others had/have the same experience.

Did you bug your insurance company?

I called them on day 2 & every day after! I had anthem 1st & my husbands work changed insurance & didn't tell us, they had a 48 hour turnaround. They were great & friendly. They told me I could call as often as I wish, so I did. Then with the new insurance, Cigna, yuk, they had a 5-10 day wait, but they also told me to call as often as I wish, once again I did! CALL !!! -
Did you bug your insurance company?

I called my insurance 3-4x a day! One night @ 6pm, it went to a recording instead of a person & have me approval #. I danced around the house. -
I had RNY on July 28 & never had any pain or complications at all. My only issue was the anesthesia, which I knew would happen. I was walking the next morning, sipping my water, had crystal light that night & had a protein shake the next morning & left @ 11am I went home. I walked a mile per day since the day I went home. I'm up to 3 today, just not as fast as before surgery yet. Went back to work 2 days ago, tough getting back into that routine, but I don't regret it, and I hope this helps & that you have a good experience like me.

I had an at home sleep study test. I picked it up at the doctor's office & they explained how to use it. I brought it in the next morning & they took all the info off of machine. I have/had moderate sleep apnea. My BMI was 37.6 and I went to bariatric doctor in April - my sleep study was last June / anyhow, my cholesterol was high also. I did not go see pulmonary doctor, my doctor just wanted copy of sleep study. I weighed 201 on May 1 and on July 28, day of surgery I was 187. Today I am 170 & still a long way to go. My husband tells me I am not snoring & he's not waking me up all night to tell me to stop snoring. Good luck!!!
