73 lbs less in 4 months! Half way to goal!
Angel720 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It is the most incredible feeling, to be back in control of my life and where it is going. Twice I have woken up and am so sleepy I do not actually remember I have lost all this weight and am surprised when I see myself in my bathroom mirror! it takes me a split second to remember how it happened! It just makes me laugh! I am enjoying the process very much I have to say. The few obstacles I have encountered are nothing , nothing compared to the new lease on life I now have! This is great time to express my gratitude to all the community here who has helped me without realizing it. Thanks guys! -
Do you notice how much others eat?
Angel720 replied to *Lexie*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, and I also notice other things like how much they drink and what poor choices they make. I do not say anything but now that I not busy eating the whole time I have time to really see others. -
Clear fluid ideas?
Angel720 replied to QueenBeatrix's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
chicken broth, homemade or from unjury, Isopure zero carb I just liked the grape flavor, the raspberry from Unjury is also a clear drink because you mix it with Water. Crystal Lite. Vegetable broth. -
Possible eating disorder
Angel720 replied to jtickle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Overall sounds a lot like what I eat daily in quantity. That you are afraid to eat may be the problem, the emotional reasons behind your eating but I would not see this as uncommon, I am terrified of regaining and I am sure it keeps me on track with the food choices I make. I would like know what the psych. says I am seriously considering starting therapy myself. -

Caffeine withdrawal headaches. Shoot me now
Angel720 replied to altraoiche's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How about half a cup morning, half a cup mid day and 1/2 cup afternoon for a few days and see how that goes? My dr said to gradually come off it, but better now than after surgery. -

Truly don't know what to do
Angel720 replied to Jennifer Rogers's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you taking anything for the acid? I was told by my dr that the excess acid changes your taste buds so even if you do not feel reflux excess acid might the the problem. I did not read through all the responses sorry if this is a repeat. Good luck! -
2 Months Post-Op & told I've lost more than normal.....
Angel720 replied to S(he) be(lie)ve(d)'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did lose more than 15 lbs in a month, I would not change a thing if you are feeling good and losing weight. Just make sure are hitting your Protein goals, Water goal and have a reasonable number of calories a day. Congratulations on your awesome progress. -
2 months post op/ feeling malnutrition
Angel720 replied to Account deleted's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With the small amounts of food we are having right now I also think that just one Multivitamin is not enough. It is normal not to feel hungry but eat anyway. If your doctor asked you to do 3 meals a day make sure you have all 3 even if you are not hungry. Are you having enough Protein everyday? -
Plenty of Water is important for me to have energy, I have learned this. Might work for you too.

How to deal with fat friends
Angel720 replied to built2livenotexist's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When only one person changes in a close relationship it is always hard. What bonded you doesn't and what you shared you do not. I am going through something similar and have come to the conclusion that I am changing for the better and IF they change great if not there is nothing I can do. Do it with compassion and love, there will be hurt feelings and you might need to move on. Good luck! -
Thanks for the article explaining I am one of the new ones that really needs to read this information.

If you went to mexico for your gastric sleeve surgery, who was your doctor and how much did it cost?
Angel720 replied to BackToBeautiful's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had surgery with Dr. Wilhelmy in Mexicali and paid around 8500 dlls. I wanted a real hospital, certified, experienced surgeon and basically I had already been there with my mom a year before when she got her sleeve and saw the level of care she got. I had never had medical care remotely similar to what I had at Almater Hospital. I knew tI could save money elsewhere but I wanted the best and feel I got more than I actually paid for. -
I take Omeprazole daily since surgery too, prescribed by my dr since the day of surgery. I think this is standard for all sleeve patients. If you cannot get an answer from your doc's office fast you might want to buy something over the counter and try it.

500 calories at 3 weeks out sounds about right. Stalls are common at around 3-4 weeks. Hang in there, follow the plan and you should start losing very soon again.
-
Yes! Vitamins I started slowly 10 days after surgery but meds I started immediately after surgery, while at the hospital. Dissolving them in Water was awful so I crushed them into smaller pieces and took them that way for 3 weeks, a pain for sure. The smaller ones I started taking them whole when I started on soft foods and the larger ones I started taking whole once I was eating solid foods.

Lack of Energy Or Just Lazy?
Angel720 replied to HalloweenBaby24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Personally when I do not have enough Water I feel sluggish and my mood is not great . If your Protein and calories on target look into daily water it might be a contributing factor. -
Please chime in post op

Only 2 months out so no way I could eat a subway any time soon. I hardly eat any bread, I do not even try really , just nibbles of toast here and there. I make my own smoothies at home and can make them thicker or runnier as needed. If I am having them as food then they are thicker if I am having them as a drink I add more Water. You can aso control the calories and sugar. Check the nutritional information you will be surprised at the calories on some smoothies/ juices, not worth is for me.
