I am beyond thrilled to let you know that I am over that horrid slump of last week and have managed to lose 1.5kg this week - bringing my total weight loss so far to 13.5kg. I really believe that getting back to my usual work routine was a big help. I am heading to the surgeon tomorrow for my 2nd fill which I am so happy about. As mentioned previously, I am able to eat a decent amount of food although I am making pretty wise choices. I've managed to massively reduce the amount of bread that I eat. In my old ways, I could easily polish off 2-4 slices of bread per day without even thinking about it. I really thought that reducing bread would be a difficult thing for me to do, but so far it has been pretty good. I'm eating 1-2 slices per week at the moment and not missing it all that much. I did miss it in my pre-op shake diet phase, but that was very extreme and I had to suddenly give up everything, but since my surgery it has not bothered me anywhere near as much. I hope everyone reading this has had a great week as well and I'll check in again soon. xxx

Kellhale33, I had my first fill on 15 December and am scheduled for another next Friday. Not feeling any restriction so I do need it, my weight has remained pretty steady as a result.. I can't wait to reach the green zone. How are you going since your surgery?

So today is my week 2 weigh in day and my loss for this week is.... 2.7kg!!! I am beyond thrilled as this takes my grand total to 10.1kg. I've done many diets over the years and I have not reached a 10kg total loss for about 20 years so this is a massive achievement for me. Week 2 also marks the beginning of the soft food phase for me. I am currently enjoying scrambled eggs with some cheese and tomato chopped up in it. As it has been 5 weeks since I've eaten anything remotely like this - they are the best scrambled eggs I have ever eaten in my entire life... So Happy Thursday everyone and enjoy!!! livelovelapband.blogspot.com.au

Well the bad news is I didn't see a great deal of movement on my scale this week - in fact the only movement I had went up slightly - 300g, Taking me back to 12kg loss total!!! The good news is that I saw my dietician this morning and have been well assured that this is actually normal. I clearly need to have another fill which is scheduled for next Friday. I was really bummed about my weight gain yesterday and thank goodness for some very close friends of mine that are there for me all the way and supporting me because I really needed it yesterday. Today I have a much clearer mind and totally understand that it's a process!!!!! livelovelapband.blogspot.com.au

Can someone please offer me their expertise.. I have added a ticker to my page but it is showing some of the information incorrectly. It shows that I have lost 70kg (would be lovely to be true but it isn't - YET!!) Does anyone know how to fix this???

What the heck? Gaining?
Miss Meg replied to LeoButterfly25's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
LeoButterfly25 I found the Fluid phase to be the hardest part of all. Consuming everything in a liquid form is the pits!!! I was able to get in a bit of Protein in the way of smoothies - but there really isn't a great deal more you can do than that. -
First time under 300lbs in 13 years!

What the heck? Gaining?
Miss Meg replied to LeoButterfly25's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi there LeoButterfly25, I had my surgery on 27 November. I weigh myself every day but only record it once a week - it jumps around so much in a 24 hour period that it is just ridiculous. I found my biggest issue in my Fluid phase and part way through my soft food phase though to be bowel movements. (I know it isn't very pleasant to talk about, but hey, we all do it!!!!!). Don't despair over what the scale tells you today, because it can change quicker than you can blink... Good luck with everything, and I look forward to seeing your progress, especially as we are on a very similar timeline xxx -
Good morning everyone.. So yesterday marked 6 weeks post-op and I have a loss this week of .5kg. It isn't a lot but it is something. I was a bit miserable to have lost nothing last week over the Christmas and New Years celebrations, but I have now moved passed that and the weight loss has started to come again. I did think it would be a bit more, but I understand that this happens sometimes, and as long as it is heading in the right direction, it will be okay. This brings my total loss now to 12.3kg and I really do feel it - yay for me!!! So have a great week everyone and I'll check in again after my next weigh in next Thursday xx livelovelapband.blogspot.com.au

Happy New Year to everyone!! Just checking in for my week 5 post-op weigh in - This week is a loss of 0.... I had decided to allow myself the week off my blog so that I didn't have to come clean about my 0 loss. I've since realised that that is not the way to be and I need to be completely honest. Admittedly it has been a bit difficult with Christmas and New Year's celebrations, and combined with the fact that I am on holidays from work, eating just tends to be something you do to fill in the time. I definitely do not feel a lot of restriction after my first fill 2 and a half weeks ago, so I am very much looking forward to my 2nd fill on 23 January. I have read a lot about this and it is known as bandster hell... That time between having surgery and hitting the green zone with your Fluid fills - you feel like you can eat as much as you did prior to surgery - looking forward to getting past this phase. I still have another week and a half off work so I need to work on a few things between now and then. Anyway, to have lost 11.8kg in 8 weeks is still pretty good going and will work on shifting that by my weigh in next week. Best wishes to everyone reading this and hope that 2015 brings all good things xxx livelovelapband.blogspot.com.au

Very impressive result, congratulations..

I am on a similar time scale to you. I had my surgery on 27 November and my first fill was on 15 December. I am finding that I have quite little restriction as well. Trying very hard to eat as if I have restriction but at this time of year with all that beautiful festive food around I am struggling. At least here in Australia it is summer and salads are quite enjoyable during the warmer weather. I am due for my 2nd fill on 23 January and really hope that I feel a great deal more restriction. I don't know how much Fluid was put in the band at my fill and the only info I have on the band size is that it is a 'small' band?? Good luck with everything...

Hi Keeper, pre-op I list 5.6kg and then 4.5kg in the 2 weeks of fluids post-op. I am finding that now I'm on the soft foods that I can obviously consume more calories.. I just need to learn to work with it.

So I jumped on the scales this morning for my weekly weigh-in. They did jump around a little to show a loss of either 0 or .6kg (600g). I am taking the .6kg. At first I was a little disappointed with this, but I need to embrace that slowly but surely is the key to success. So I've turned my frown upside down and am ecstatic with my total loss of 10.7kg... That's 23.5lb for those that don't use metric (sounds better too). I am also doing pretty well with my first fill that I had on Monday, I'm still in the soft food phase and have been chewing everything so so slowly. I haven't experienced any stuck episodes yet which I am totally thankful for. Have a great day everyone. livelovelapband.blogspot.com.au

FIRST fill this Wednesday! What should I expect?
Miss Meg replied to MaryRN66's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first fill yesterday and was also very nervous. Truly all I felt was a sting for about 20 seconds and that was it. I was also advised to have Fluid for the remainder of that day and then soft food for the next day or so (I am still in the soft food phase anyway so that was no different to me). I have noticed a difference in the restriction and today I am definitely getting fuller quicker. I hope this helps and good luck to you for Wednesday.
