The good news is that I am feeling a little more restriction with this third fill, but not enough to get me to the green zone, it'll definitely take a little more to get there and that's okay. The mind is a very powerful thing and sometimes that is for the worse. I'm definitely doing most of the work myself at the moment and you know it's funny because I don't think without the band I would've ever found the willpower even though the band is not doing a great deal of the work right now.

Today is 11 weeks post-op for me. I weighed myself this morning to find a 0 loss. I'm not too concerned about it but I am just a little frustrated because it makes for only a 1kg loss in 3 weeks. I am getting my 3rd fill today which should be .5ml which will make 4ml in my band. I do really think that I am very close to the green zone and am hoping that will happen with this fill. I know that should move things along a little. I know I will get there, it's just hard to not get frustrated at times.

@@Keeper you are right, genetics has a lot to do with it. I have been rubbing bio oil on my upper arms and doing excercises with resistance bands and a few bicep curls with small hand weights. It is working a little - I'm hoping it'll work a lot more. I hope you find what's right for you, would be awful to be in the situation where you may lose your art work... PS.. I love a tattoo too...

@@Keeper - thanks so much for that. I know that I'm doing well, just getting a little frustrated at times. I need to remind myself every now and then of the bigger picture. The support I get on here from fellow bandsters is awesome and it's great to just spew out your feelings sometimes. It took me a long time to get as overweight as I was, so it's going to take time to fix it...

Good for you, it's a great feeling when you can actually see your work start to take shape. You've inspired me to share my before and current photos too. I haven't measured myself again since I started the pre-op diet so will get to that at some stage too. -

I can't believe that today marks 10 weeks since my Lap-Band Surgery. The time has just flown by and I am feeling better than ever. This week sees another .5kg loss for me bringing my total weight loss so far to 14.5kg. Again it is another fairly small one but I am okay with it... I have clocked up another year on the calendar of life this week as well (42!!) and although I haven't over-eaten, I haven't counted calories either. I have one more celebration (and my Mum's birthday as well) this weekend and I don't intend to count those calories either. After all, that's what life is all about - we still need to enjoy these times. I also had my first 'stuck' episode last night as well - on chicken - which I had been warned about. It was quite chewy chicken and I know that I didn't chew it properly either. Was a little bit (a lot bit) uncomfortable but I was able to 'remove' it fairly quickly and painlessly and I was able to enjoy the rest of my meal. It is one of those things that was always going to happen at some point but boy did it make me sit up and think and take more notice of the way I eat. I would really like to avoid this happening to me again. Anyway, life's good and I'm feeling great and I look forward to checking in again next week xx

I think sometimes you need to read between the lines as well - sometimes it doesn't work for people because they don't let the band work for them. I've come across this a bit on this site and also in people that I know or have met that have had it done. Usually the over-whelming factor as to why it didn't work is because they really didn't want it to. By that I mean not wanting to change their day to day eating habits from high fat to nutritional substance. It isn't easy, I know that for sure after 20+ years of yoyo dieting - it just has to come at the right time for you personally.

I had my band put in 10 weeks ago and I can definitely eat what I want in smaller portions. As samcat681 stated it is still up to you to put the right things in your body. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

Sorry - messed up on the heading and now I can't fix it!!! - should read - 10 weeks, 14.5kg and a 'stuck' episode..
-
I'm not there yet - still very much in the yellow zone for me. I have no issues with any food whatsoever, have not had any stuck episodes at all. I can still eat a fair portion of food - definitely not just a cup full. Although I am consciously eating less and making better choices. I am quite good with the chewing too and try to make my meal last as long as possible. I do get slight tummy grumblings within about 3-4 hours. I have had 2 fills totaling 3.5ml and I'm not sure what the size of my band is - the surgeon only told me 'small'. It is something I will ask at my next fill. Very envious of those in the green zone as I can not wait to get there - bring on the green!!!!!!

Congratulations and good luck. Everyone is here to support you. -
@sweetgagr100 I hope for your sake you get one as well. My Doc did tell me that he gave me my fill at that point because it was close to the Christmas break. He definitely made a point of scheduling my second about a month after that. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Perhaps when you go for your post-op you can ask if there is a location closer to you to get your regular fills. My surgeon only did the first fill and the others are peformed by nurses in his surgery. Good luck..

Yes, I had mine at 2.5 weeks post-op and I've just had my second fill at 8 weeks post-op. I didn't notice a lot of restriction with the first fill and I only have a slight increase after the second. I am scheduled for a third on 12 Feb.

I had fill no. 2 today of .5ml (first fill was 3ml). That was at 3.00pm this afternoon having had lunch at 12.30pm. It's now 7.20pm and I have no desire at all for dinner... First time I've had this feeling and I like it... Lets hope it lasts...

Congratulations on your surgery and weight loss to date. I find this site so incredibly helpful and I hope you do too. Good luck with your journey

4 weeks post op, gained 2 lbs
Miss Meg replied to tisty21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, absolutely!!! I had a small gain last week. I too find that I am able to put away a fair amount of food but am making mostly wise choices with the food I do eat - and I'm not bringing anything up or getting anything stuck yet either. I am having my 2nd fill done in about 2 hours and am hoping like hell that I feel a little more restriction. Good luck with it, and it is nice to know that other people go through the same thing and that you are completely NORMAL!! -
Thanks for the advice donna450, I am visiting my surgeon tomorrow so will speak with him then. I've been pretty lucky in the pain department, this has really been it apart from the battle wounds at surgery. I also had the thought that I could be drinking (or guzzling) my Water too quickly??

I had my lap-band done on 27 November 2014 and have had one fill and due for another this Friday. Has anyone ever felt that they have a stitch in their side (on the port side)? Is it connected to the Lap-band or just some random thing that I'm feeling at the moment?
