Good lord I just realsied that you are having surgery tomorrow!! You should join us on our list for Feb surgeries and we will cheer you through the recovery! Best of luck hon, hope that you get the perfect puppies! Nina x

Oh crumbs I am not the person to ask!! I feel lost with anything less than a DD/E!! I would say that nowadays there is more of an emphasis on the puppies and if you are used to them you might miss them so go for a D. What does DH think? Nina xx

I must admit that I can see how they would become addictive, I picked the basic design for it off the net but then we adapted it. I forget sometimes that I have got it! I noticed the one that you have on your lower back in another picture, verrrrry nice! Why were you beating yourself up on the other thread chick? I was about to reply then I had to do tea for the kids. Mt DH is an annoying little git who decided to go running the other day having done bugger all exercise in the last 3 years and ran 3 soddin miles!! I didnt know whether to hug him or kill him! LOL You have acheived amazing things hon, but noone can give 110% ALL the time it just wears you out, you put more into this than anyone I know, and if that means that you cant do the mini marathon that you wanted to do ( which if you think is only 10 weeks after your TT how will you train?) you can do the next one when you have built yourself up more. The important thing here is that you had the balls to set that as a goal, and I have every faith that by the end of this year you will be running those marathons chick! More power to you hon, I cant even run for the flamin bus! Tami - Boy can I tell that you work it babes, power to you ! I am determined to find something that I enjoy, I have to find a flipping gym first though!! Very very rural where we live! Take care all my surgery buddies! -
Ok this is a moan, but I am sick of having the same conversation with my surgeons dietician. When I went for the op I had done what I thought was fairly extensive research, I looked at the bypass and the band, and I had decided that apart from the fact that the bypass scared the living crap out of me, the band was better suited to my eating habits. Although I do like treats my problem was always portion control and the lack thereof. I had a long discussion with the dieticians explained that with such a large family I cook loads of one pot meals ( think coq au vin, spag bol, pot roast etc) I just eat too much and get hungry 1 hour afterwards. During this discussion she mentioned trying crackers/raw veg etc if that happens as it will stay in the band longer. Since I had the band I have cut out nearly all the Snacks, I allow myself one low cal bag of chips a day and that is it, BUT I dont eat my food dry. I follow all the rules, take 20 minutes to eat, dont drink with meals or for an hour after, and I exercise. My weight has stayed pretty static in the last 4/6 weeks even with the fill, and I eat way more than I should be able to. My clinic are telling me that is because of the pot roasts and tomato sauces (apparently it just slides through the band???) and that if I want it to work I have to eat grilled/steamed meats and plain veg. WTF??????? If I ate that without the band I would lose weight!!!! The whole point of the band for me was the fact that I could still cook the things that I enjoy cooking, and the vast majority of what I cook is healthy, and have portion control. She is right, when I do eat the dry food I do get full much quicker, but from what I have read on here I should get full on spag bol just as easily. What gives???? I ended up asking her what I had spent £8,000 on becuase I have already made the healthy choices, started excersing etc, if I have to change the healthy stuff that I eat so radically then to me I just feel like I am on a diet, not that I have changed my attitude to food. She mentioned me getting another fill, but again I am worried, in surgery he had to put in 4cc as the band was so loose, my first fill did nothing and in order to get any restriction on the 2nd fill I had to go to 9cc in a 10cc band, there is only 1cc left FGS!!! That worked for a couple of weeks but now it seems to have loosened off, I can eat pretty much anything (but not white bread), and if there is any sauce on it I can eat loads! Can the band loosen off if you dont lose weight? If I cant eat white bread then surely I have restriction, so why am I condemmed to dry foods only in order for it to work? I feel like I have met the band half way, I have made huge changes and embraced them and it still isnt enough  At the moment the way I am looking at it it is 70% me, 30% the band  I just feel like I was missold. Friends keep saying to me that my diet is no different to their weight watchers only I am not allowed the sauces and that they cant see why I spent all that money, %&)&^(&^%&$!!!!!! I am sooo hacked off..... Nina x

Where did I admit to doing no research? The Roman Catholic church were the ones that changed all the dates and it may have escaped your notice but they werent around in the time of the Israelites, so I dont really see what relevance there is in mentioning ancient middle eastern Pagans. If you are talking about the Aztecs/Inca type of religion then yup they sure did have a pechant for the old ritual sacrifce, but then in the old testament didnt god ask Abraham to sacrifce his firstborn? Before you start I know that he didnt make him do it........ On the subject of the Aztecs and Incas ( as they are the 2 main religions that practised child sacrifice), how would the Roman Catholic Church have had a clue what they were doing, much less tried to tie their religious calender to them? As for the Pagans that were around at the time of the Roman catholic church being set up - which incidently coincided with when they chopped about 100 of the gospels that didnt tell the story quite how they wanted it ( think the gospel of Mary, the gospel of Judas etc etc) out of the good book too - they were primarily concerned with placating the western european pagans, which were to a large degree based on a Druid type of practise, and there has NEVER been any evidence or indication that they carried out the slaughter of children. -

:biggrin:I know!!! I noticed that today!!! I am back in Lyon on Tuesday for my pre-op/final consult and I was thinking that by the time I get back ( I have to travel for 4 days, fly from here on Monday to Manchester, and then from there the day after to Lyon, same in reverse on the way back!!) there will be only 3 weeks before I fly out again and that time for the op!! I wish that DH had that attitude, but his mates are very blokey and just couldnt get their heads around it, he sees it as a weakness to get the band, I see it as a weakness to eat the food! -

LMAO off @ Neal!!! Bet your wife is pretty happy too! I am very impressed that you have put your pictures up. It must be a bit of a nightmare sometimes with us all chattering on about 'girly' things. I was talking to my DH about getting him a band and he said that he is just to worried about all of the blokes that we know ripping him for it. Was that something that you encountered? He mentioned his weight the other day and one of his 'friends' told him to stop eating so much and get his arse off the couch! You are going to look amazing after the op, you are the ideal candidate! I have just been posting on a PS board and people there were fairly negative about me getting the op at this stage, I understand what they are saying but I think that it will make a huge difference ( especially with 7 litres of lipo!) and that it will spur me on to reach goal. I really truly dont think that my skin will sag if I lose more weight after the TT. I have been lucky so far when you consider the sag that I have is a result of having 6 pregnancies I dont think it is too bad ( ehem) well you know what I mean. Sorry to moan it has just negged me out a bit, they were all saying things like 'be realistic about the results that you want', is that polite speak for ' you too fat to even consider doing this '???? -

Heres the picture of my tattoo close up. I am pretty darned pleased with it, I like the way it looks and it means a lot to me - there I am being sentimental again! -
Way to go Brandy!! Congratulations!!! I bet this has given you such a huge spur on now

No way, not now, not ever!! Even if he does finish with this Kimberly girl, pretty soon you will be in her position and he will be giving you the run round while he finds another sideliner. Married one like this when I was very young, and very very stupid. He wasnt even in a relationship when I met him and he still used to play me, he never changed but I grew up and realised I was worth more than that. FYI he was banging one of my 'friends' when we had a toddler and I was pregnant with our second. It is fun, and the drama adds a bit of spice but ultimatly he aint a life partner. If you are willing to look at him as a fling and reconcile in your head that his girlfriend knows nothing about this, but just have a bit of fun with him, thats fine.If you are going to get upset when he doesnt ring and he spends time with her, then you arent cut out for the role of the other woman.

First of all (((((((hug)))))))) Familys can be such a pile of cacka cant they! I think you will know inside you which is the best way to go with this, if keeping a secret from them will cause you more stress than telling them, them make a judgement call on it. It didnt bother me, but then being honest I have always taken a perverse delight in shocking my family, and they are all aware that other than my sis I dont give a rats ass what they think anyway. You are doing this for you, you dont have to explain yourself to anyone, and if when you are slim they do spot the scars just tell them that you had suspected gallstones and they did a laparoscapy(?) to rule it out. Parents find myriad ways to screw up there kids, yours picked your weight, whether you want to open that whole can of worms is up to you. What ever you decide you will have the last laugh when you are slim AND a nice person!!

I just re-read my comment then, I hope that it came across the way that I meant it! Can you imagine what it will be like when you are finally revealed in all your glory? I cant wait to see you afterwards. If I am being honest I booked my PS before the band because I can be a lazy cowbag and I wanted an instant result, you on the other hand have worked your ass off ( quite literally I might add) so I am almost more excited for you than I am for me. (only almost though ) -

You have come so far already, The TT is just going to reveal the REAL you that happens to have got a bit lost in the skin! -
This may be stating the obvious but, is it hearturn? I used to get that all the time and it starts at just below my collar bone and burns all the wya up my throat, the only thing that stopped it is gaviscon. Hope that it doesnt happen again!
-
Respect! Why dont you have a fill though? Whats the point in having the tool if you dont activate it? You have done really well, but I just wanted to break free from the land of south beach diets, I just wanted to have a healthy normal relationship with food. You look flamin' fantastic babes whatever you are doing it is obviously working for you!

Thanks Kristin, I am sorry if you thought I was being stroppy I truly wasnt. That is why I asked the question, I can eat waaay more than 3oz, I wish that my band was working that well! I have cut out almost all the bad carbs, no rice Pasta bread biscuits cake god the list of what I wont eat is endless, but I still find that even following the rules I am hungry a lot of the time I workout 5 days a week and I am getting to the point where I feel that I am doing all the work. I think that the answer is that I need another fill!!!

I feel exactly the same way,if I am the one that has to do the portion control myself what is the band doing? I accept full responsibilty for making the right choices, but when I AM making them I expect the band to provide the portion control!
