Hi, now 4.5 months since the surgery. 95KG. I had tremendous pain on Thursday 2am and next day was rushed to the emergency ward. Had 2 Kidney stones 4mm and 6mm, never had them before. I googled kidney stones and omega loop. It seems common after 6 months post surgery to get Kidney Stones. I am pretty sure I was not warned about this, and they are extremely painful. A stent was inserted on Thursday night, in 2 weeks a camera and laser are inserted into me to blast them away. Ouch!!!! I will ask the surgeon if there is likelihood these will re-occur. -

Hi, Its now 3 weeks since the operation, I am down from 105Kg to ~98Kg, not doing any exercise yet except 45 minutes a day walking to the train station and back. Feeling good, no issues at all except maybe a little tired. No wound pain or anything really, very good fast recovery. Let me know if anyone has any specific questions, I am really keen to see if I can get below 90Kg by Xmas.... -

Hi, sorry for the delay, just been busy with a new job.... Had Surgery 4PM Monday 29 June Norwest Private Hospital Sydney (Dr Roy and Tony Brancatisano) Finished surgery about 3 hrs later. Stayed in Hospital Mon-Wed Night, discharged 6pm Thursday. After day 1 was able to walk around the ward, had fluids via a drip and self maintained pain control Tuesday - Wednesday am, very little pain, was very happy with the recovery. Was able to have clear fluids on Thursday, once home has liquid Protein shakes for a few days, then soft mushy food. After two weeks weight has dropped from 105Kg to 98Kg. It's too early to confirm 100%, but it does seem like my appetite has finally diminished. When I had the Omega Loop they re-shape my sleeve, and the Doc said it had not enlarged much at all, but re-shaped it a tad anyhow. Wounds were minimal, Doc used the old scars from prior band and Sleeve, and they healed 100% within 10 days, bandages came off by themselves after 5-7 days. This afternoon I see the doctor for the first two weekly check up. I'll try and update more regularly -

HI, I have had the gastric Band, Sleeve and now the Omega Loop is scheduled for June 29 2015. I was 165KG, got down as low as about 90 and currently about 104. Hopefully after the Omega Loop I can settle at around 88-90Kg, if so I will be very happy indeed. -

HI, I had a gastric Sleeve in July 2005 lost about 60KG over 2+ years, in 2012 had bad reflux, band removed and 3 months later after putting on about 15Kg, had a sleeve. 2.5 years later on 1 June 2015 I am having a Mini Gastric Bypass (Omega Loop) I am now 105Kg and goal is about 85, I still lost 60Kg from before I was banded. Teh reason I am having teh Omega Loop is because I am constantly hungry, and I am told teh Loop will be the best solution for me. I'll let you know how I go. I have an Pandescopy to see what my stomach is like on May 21, then Omega Loop on 1 June 2015. Wish me luck..... -

Lap Band Out After 7 Years.. Sleeve To Go In Soon....
nigel replied to nigel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I find the sleeve so much better than the band, no more throwing up, and can tolerate any food, just in a small quantity. I do think my starving sensation was due to the stomach acid mimicking hunger, will see if I continue to lose weight and i'll update the post in a few weeks. -

Lap Band Out After 7 Years.. Sleeve To Go In Soon....

I tried TUMS for the acid, it offered very short term relief. 40Mg Nexium made instant results, I take 1 x 40Mg tablet a day. -
Lap Band Out After 7 Years.. Sleeve To Go In Soon....
nigel replied to nigel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi all. OK had my surgery to have sleeve late December 2012, was 102Kg when band was removed, in 2 months ballooned to 113Kg, 2-3 weeks after the sleeve I dropped to 99kg..... Had reflux for about 3-4 months and weight increased to 103Kg, saw the doctor in November 2013 because I was not losing weight and was constantly feeling hungry? Forums seemed too indicate hunger due to reflux... Doc put me on 40Mg Nexium for reflux, has been 1 week lost 1kg and not feeling anywhere as hungry as before, Nexium site says effects take 2-3 weeks maximum to fix reflux issues, so I am hoping I am now back on track. For anyone starving after having band removed and sleeve installed, consult your doctor, and maybe try Nexium or something to stop the acid which seems to make you feel hungry constantly and hr or two after a meal. -

I had reflux, even after having most of the fluid removed and taking a tablet each night to combat it, weight went up from about 95KG to 102Kg. -
Lap Band Out After 7 Years.. Sleeve To Go In Soon....

HI, I had my band removed yesterday afternoon Monday 22 October 2012. I had my band installed 7 years ago, went from 163KG down to 89, had some reflux related issues and went back to 102Kg. I'm typing this from my hospital bed. Band removal was straightforward ad I'll be released in a few hrs, so only had to stay overnight. In Australia the surgeon won't re-sleeve me till Mid December, after today's visit he will see if there was not much scar tissue removed from around the band, if minimal he will do the Gastric Sleeve Dec 14 otherwise Mid January, I am terrified to keep purring on weight now the band is out. I'll let you know of my progress. -
