A VERY strange (possibly offensive) question. ***read at your own risk...***
Chrisann replied to Weas123's topic in The Gals' Room
Yes I was going to say this too...When I have an empty stomach there is no problem swallowing. A few weeks ago I had maybe 5 bites of a piece of toast and about an hour later, couldn't swallow, it fact, was gagging, and up came the toast, boy was that just pleasant. BF was understanding, but you know what, haven't done that since..so maybe it creeped him out. -
I bought them, all 4 pieces came to $75. The "free" pieces still had a shipping cost. But I love them. At first it hurt, but that was because they make you stand up straight, and I guess wasn't used to that. Also, I need the leg shapers to go down close to my knees, because others band you in the middle of the thigh and stuff looks terrible on, and these do fit to my knee. I found that Spanx fit well too, and are better for the summer, but they are not as "durable" as I have found the Kymaro shapers to be.

I went from a 44DDD, to a 42DD and pretty much stuck between that and an occasional 42D. I did pilates my whole first 18 months after I was cleared for exercise and swear that did wonders for my stomach area and boobs.

Well if the mods ever read this. She never paid me for the shipping of the clothes I sent. I didn't want money for the clothes, just the shipping. It was over $40.

Severe Restriction in the AM, No Restriction in the PM
Chrisann posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So is this common? I am super tight in the morning and for most of the day, so my intake of food is small, really small. I am feeling fine, no hunger and not experiencing any PB'ing or Sliming. But by the evening, 7PM or so, I have no restriction feeling at all and eat significantly more and am hungry. Still nowhere near what I used to eat, but still enough that is topping my calories at 1200-1300, fat around 35g, Protein 85g. And I am taking in around 700-800 of those calories etc at night. I had my second fill last week, and now have 5cc's in a 10cc band. -
Hello Out there January 08 Bandsters~~
Chrisann replied to Chrisann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctors have told me that I am 29 pounds from their goal weight for me! Personally, I thought I had 40 pounds to go. But I trust them more at this point. I made it through the holidays! Last year I was on liquid because of complications, and two years ago on liquid because of the impending surgery, so I was finally able to taste the food my family cooks only this time of year. I have no qualms that the last 29 pounds are going to take me at least 6 months, if not longer, so I am not going to let it bother me. LadyRoz hang in there. -
Wow, we all have stopped coming here.....I check in every now and then, and am amazed how were on here everyday before and right after surgery. Now, stop in every few weeks. I have been plateaued again...I fractured my foot, and also tore a ligament in the same spot, have had a cast on my foot for 8 weeks. Haven't lost a pound in over 2 months. Now, have lots of personal things going on, family issues, people close to me losing their jobs, a breakup, massive expensive car repairs, etc. In the old days I would have been binging on food. Now haven't, the only thing of my former eating habits I did was finish a 1.75 quart container of ice cream over 3 days. And I felt guilty about that. Never had I felt guilty about eating something. It was a weird thing. I don't know, posting it here makes me feel better. Its funny, it took 20 months for me to do something this reckless with food, and it bothers me.....Boy, have I changed.

Thats me too!!! We are not small though, I also manage the offices in several other cities, I handle all the same stuff you do, plus Immigration, 401k, Office Supplies, Accounts Payable. We are an IT Recruiting Company. I love my job, the pay could be better though......

I am straight out honest, I am down 95 pounds, so I tell them, either they still want to be with you or not. Better to know up front.

There is a website in NY called HalfOffNY.com - Why pay full price when you can pay half? and its selling 50% off coupons for Glamour Shots, a photography studio in some of the malls.

Ok so its been a few days taking the capsules at night. One thing, I can swallow the capsule and it goes down with no trouble, so no more mixing it with Applesauce. I couldn't swallow the capsule when I was taking it in the morning. So far, still get some reflux, but its 75% less than what I was getting, although tonite I am lying, cause I am burping grease. I ate something earlier that was a little greasier than I thought. So I am not going to lay down yet....

This is scary.....9 days ago I was plateaued, and I didn't do anything different during those 9 days, and lost 5 pounds! Went to my regular doc for my annual physical, and I am down 45 pounds from last years visit to him. I decided what the hell, go into Macy's, there was a sale....Well, I'll be damned, I fit into, so of course bought, a Jones NY suit for work in size 14!!! Yep a 14. The price was right too, so that makes it even a better thing.......

I started with Acid Reflux 15 months after my surgery, which has now gone to an ulcer. I am at about 7.5ccs in a 10cc band. The acid reflux started when I was filled at 7.8cc's or so, so they took some Fluid out, but the damage was done. I am now on medication for both, and after a few adjustments as to when to take the medicine, I think its getting under control. But I never, ever, ever in my life had acid reflux or an ulcer in the past....that is what irritates me now.

Encouragement needed, I think I'm stuck?
Chrisann replied to ~~Beth~~'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes its normal. I look at it this way: You didn't gain all the weight overnight, so aren't going to lose it overnight either. Plateau's are normal during weight loss. Look at it positively, you haven't gained any weight either!!! -
Old habits coming back

I started journaling when I had problems. Carry a steno pad or small spiral book with you and write down every single thing you put in your mouth and the emotional state you were in when you do it. You want to see if your eating has a pattern to it. Then you can be more focused on a solution. You will learn the difference between head hunger and real hunger. It took me nearly a year, with lots of ups and downs, but once you figure that out, its great. -
Sudden restriction?
Chrisann replied to AngelWhisper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I started this process, and went a support group meeting, the band was described as a fickle bitch. You could eat one day and then try the same food the next day and not get it down. So I sum any difficulties with restriction to that. Having restriction and acid reflux are two different things. I am in reflux hell, and when I am feel hungry, I am making sure that I am not eating something that will aggravate it. The surgeon's office gave me a prescription for the reflux but I am going to see my PCP on Friday to run the right tests. -
Starbucks Coffee Anyone?
Chrisann replied to hopeful41411's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get an Iced Trippio with sugar free hazelnut, but absolutely cannot give up the half and half. Believe me, I have tried it with all the other milk options. In fact even told the nutritionist and the doctor that if that is my only vice these days, then I am using half and half. -
Have to agree with the ladies, the desire for sex now is greater than it has been in years. I am having one problem though, when I go down on the guy, and I hit the gag spot, my acid reflux kicks in. Is this normal, cause its making things more difficult....
-
I spoke with the pharmacist today, and she said I should take the prilosec at night instead. Since I wasn't feeling any reflux or burning this morning, I figured I would try it tonite to see if something changes. I guess if its going to make me dopey, might as well do it when I am trying to go to sleep...lol

Very discouraged! 9 months post op and 50lbs lost.
Chrisann replied to kjhack's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5'8" and had sugery January 2008, I am down 95 pounds. I am plateauing now. You know what? So what! I am still 95 pounds lighter than when I started this journey. It took me 35 years to get fat, I knew it wasn't going to come off overnight, even with the surgery. Whenever I plateau, and this is the third time since surgery, I do a food journal and then meet with the nutritionist at the doctors office and I ask for their help. If you are not happy with that progress, find out if your doctors office will give you access to the nutritionist and journal your food and meet with them. Sometimes what they tell you is eye opening. -
What kind of vitamins do you take?
Chrisann replied to StarsZie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am taking Childrens Chewables, with Iron. Right now the Walmart brand. They taste good, and you only need one. Some of the brands you need two. What is cool is that they are way cheaper than adult chewables. You can compare the labels too, to see the nutritional values yourself.. -
1st fill and gained weight !!!?????
Chrisann replied to LovedinFL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember that your body has to get used to the band, and that you were probably on mushy foods when you got your first fill. Its not until you start eating "regular" foods, and not mushy or liquids that you start to lose the weight. I didn't lose any weight between my surgery date and my first fill. -
I was banded January 2008 and to this day no soda or anything bubbly, but Caffeine? I never drank coffee before the surgery, and now, can't go a day without have 3 shots of espresso. The craving started 2 weeks after surgery.
-
I was banded by Dr. Ren too. I also got my period on the day of surgery. They were very helpful getting me situated with that. I didn't know what my allergies were before surgery, and I found out I was allergic to latex and morphine. The morphine allergy had me dry heaving all day after the surgery and when Ren came in around 6pm, she went ballistic that I had been heaving all day, I never saw people move so fast to get me some peace. They force you to get up and walk around a few hours after the surgery, and with the heaving I was doing, I didn't start the walking until about 2:00am... They also measure how much you are urinating and you have to blow the aspirator. If you pee too little, or the aspirator isn't blowing hard, they say they will keep you. I told them in advance that my veins are hard to find, and after fasting would be worse, so they got me a baby anesthesiologist to use a butterfly IV in my wrist. I was in surgery only 35 minutes, my Dad said he just had gotten settled in the chair when I was coming out of surgery. All in all,the care was good, but I told my parents that I never want to be in a hospital again if I can help it.
