With the ensure, watch the fat and carbs. It sneaks up on you. If you have a Whole Foods store near you, they have No chicken chicken broth. Granted I have never tasted it, I am not a vegetarian, but people had in their baskets. I agree with the smoothies, they go down, even with the Protein in them, over several hours, and you stay full.

My dad said it in a weird way. You are an attractive woman now, so I hope you are doing the surgery for the right reasons. Then after the surgery, he said, Once you lose all the weight, you are going to be a very attractive woman, a knockout. So I couldn't be mad at him for that.

I found out on December 11 that I was getting my date moved to December 31. So it is entirely possible they can get you in if you do all your visits next week. My pre-opt appt at the hospital I got everything done, and I had to get a final paper signed by my PCP. PUSH THEM to get everything done next week and band you by the 31st.

I have found that if I drink or eat (I am on mushies) too fast the gas pain is killing me in the left shoulder. The heating pad works and the gas-x too. Walking the gas off never worked for me. I wind up in all sorts of contorsonist positions on my chair at work when the gas hits. My boss laughs. Protein also causes the gas and since we have to be on high protein its a no win situation. It does get better ever so slowly as time goes by.

Out of the hospital in 3 hours. Wow!! Hope your recovery goes well.

Hang in there. MY original date was January 21st, then the hospital moved it to January 25th, I couldn't do that. Then they told me February. I blew my stack. All of a sudden, December 31st opened up and thats when I had it.

How did you do on Pre-op diet?
Chrisann replied to Joanna240's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was on full liquids, with broth, protein shakes, 2 cups veggies a day, jello and ice pops for 2 weeks prior to surgery. It was tough days 5-7 but after that it got easier for some reason. I lost 24 pounds in the pre surgery phase. -
More Complications, I can't get any good news to you guys

Ok, Finally, some good news. My PCP said I had an allergic reaction to latex, that is why I have that rash all over my midsection. He said since my stitched areas are healing nicely I can put something on the rash. He gave some kind of topical foam and said to use 2x a day. I also didn't lose any weight, but didn't gain any either since the surgery. He said that was great. I am so fine with that too. I am the first of his patients to get lapband surgery, and it was so cool seeing how proud he was that I was in there to see him. He asked so many questions. He said I don't need antibiotics for my cold, and said to take Tylenol Cold. He also gave me an aspirator because I have to practice the deep breathing. He didn't like that I have a problem taking a deep breath. -
Going to the doctor today, so I think I have gained some too. But realize, we have been on liquids for 4 weeks, and now actually putting some food in, you are going to gain. It will all level out once we get used to the band and get a fill.
-
But I think I can because I was an original member here. I was the third person in this forum way back on November 26th in the surgery date thread.
-
I had to go back to the hospital 1 day after my release, 2 days after the surgery and gained too. I was back to my surgery weight by day 7.
-
But like me, who was originally scheduled for Jan 21, and was rescheduled to 12/31/07, I was made an honorary member here. 4jin you should be too. You have been here for awhile.

I don't like them either, but didn't like the fact I spent so much money, so I am just cutting the amount I am supposed to use to half or less, and it makes a difference.

I was primarily the only big person in my immediate group of friends and co workers, (except for my best friend, a guy, who was against it) so I didn't get the meaness or jealousy. I am getting alot of support, and it feels great. I didn't walk around with a sign on my chest announcing the I was getting the band, but I also didn't hide it from people.

My poor dog didn't see me for nearly a week because I recovered at my parents and I had to keep him from jumping on me when I came in the door, I felt bad reprimanding him. Since then, he hasn't left my side when I am in the house and he stands at the door when I leave for work.

Between the pre opt phase and the 2 weeks after surgery liquid, I spent 4 weeks on liquid with it more restrictive after the surgery. It was so nice to go to mushies.

Yes, i absolutely agree. What happened to all the smilies. I really don't like the bananas and haven't seen many of them in posts either. -
Why are Ports located in different areas of the tummy
Chrisann replied to texasbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was wondering that too, because mine seems to have been placed above my belly button to the right. I thought it would be higher, closer to my bra like jfran. -
Anyone turned down due to fen/phen use?
Chrisann replied to PeeJay1031's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was on REDUX and have to get tested for the rest of my life for the mitrial (spelling) valve heart murmur. My PCP put me on it and it was in my history of weight loss attempts that my PCP submitted to get me to the lap band. -
Glad to see you are home and feeling comfortable.:clap2:

I sauteed a piece of really well chopped onion in Pam. Then added a can of tomato sauce. Let that cook a little while and then placed the tilapia in the pan and covered it for 10 minutes, flipped the fish and cooked it covered for 10 more. You can use that for just about any type of white fish. It stayed moist. This recipe is courtesy of my mom. My sister in law uses the onion/tomato sauce for chicken too. Tomato sauce and onion are no fat, using the Pam, no fat, fish no fat. Fish had about 50 calories,( about 4 oz) tomato sauce 20, onion and Pam 0.

I am from Brooklyn NY, born and raised. Banded on 12/31/07 by Dr. Ren at NYU. Go for my first fill on January 30th.

I am 5'8" and agree with you Apple. I love my curves. I don't want to be skinny, I want to get no smaller than a size 10, and have about 145 total pounds to lose. Just banded 15 days ago.

HI all, I finally have a doctors appt on Thursday. With my Primary Care Physician. Yep, not my Lap Band Surgeon. The area around my incisions are pink now. And I have a raging cold. My lap band surgeons office told me to go to the PCP, because the cold, and the cramps are related and its not the band that is causing the cramps. So we will see on Thursday. -
I made tilapia with tomato sauce, and flaked the fish really well and it stayed down.
