Me too!!! I have 4 cc's in the 10cc band. I can have solid foods starting Super Bowl Sunday!! Go back on February 15th!

I was told to have my mushy/pureed diet the morning of the fill and I did. Other than that, I document what I eat, and if I am hungrier than usual, cause that is what the doc asked me.She wanted to know where I was on the hunger scale. I guess that is why she was aggressive giving me 3cc's for the first time fill. Shirley, believe me, I have been struggling all month with complications from all over the place. I have lost 4 pounds since surgery, and you know what, I am damn happy about it. See if you can find my thread on the complications.

NYC Docs? Anyone used Dr. Roslin?
Chrisann replied to hungry4help's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Was in the NYU office for my post opt visit/Fill with Dr. Ren today. I have been so happy with their staff since I was scheduled for the surgery, and when I had some complications after the surgery, they took me right in. I am very happy I had my surgery with Dr. Ren. -
My doc said the oldest they have done surgery on was 77.

New Bander and feeling frustrated
Chrisann replied to nce1025's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wouldn't watch the scale really. I was banded 12/31/07, I have lost 4 pounds since surgery, 4 weeks ago. I am not the least bit upset. The average is 1-2 pounds a week, and losing it slow and steady can help with the skin not going to be flapping all over the place later on. -
What is your current fill in the APL 14cc band?
Chrisann replied to ParaGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have the 10cc band, and had my first fill today, 3 cc's. I have 1 cc in there from the day of the surgery, so total is 4cc's. I feel full now, after about 2 oz of a protein shake in an hour, but I am fine with that. -
The fill was a piece of cake. I have 4cc in my 10cc band now. Lost 1 pound more. Doc made me put my hands behind my head and lift up in a sit up position, and it was over. Didn't even feel the needle. Had to sip a cup of Water, and it went down fine. Have to be on liquids today and tomorrow and mushy pureed food Friday and Saturday. I have been trying to drink a Protein shake since I am back to the office, which was 2:15, and I am full after drinking maybe 2oz. So, I am happy with the restriction, even though its only been a few hours. She told me to really pay attention to what I eat and how big the pieces are, and to eat slow and chew, chew and chew some more. I go back in two weeks.

Sleep in the Early Post-op Period; Getting Stopped Up
Chrisann replied to Fenton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first full week after surgery it was actually more comfortable to sleep on my side, and I always sleep on my back, I think it was my body wanting to comfort itself by putting me in the fetal position. HOWEVER, every time I tried to roll to the other side, my fat went first and then the muscles and boy it hurt like hell. It was the incisions on either side, not the ones in the middle that were hurting. I used a heating pad that first week right over the incisions over my PJ's, and took my meds religiously at night so I could sleep and stay sleeping if I moved. After the first week, things calmed down alot. -
Unjury...Who likes it and who doesn't?
Chrisann replied to tyme4change's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Nope, do not like Unjury. Didn't like the smell one bit, and that just sealed its fate for me. -
You may be healing faster than me, everyone has their own schedule. Me, I am an Office worker, but at home, I do yard work, I love to mow the grass, get up on the ladder and paint, or hammer, take out the garbage, flip my mattresses, move furniture around. I never in a million years thought anything was wrong, as I flipped my mattress the day before surgery, and threw out lots of stuff from the basement. I think the doctor is saying up to three months so I won't do anything stupid. Its really cool getting my friends to carry in the dog food, the laundry detergent and cases of Water.
-
Well lets just say that I was able to do a hell of a lot more before they found it DURING surgery. I never knew I had one until after surgery. Now, I can't stretch, can pick up lighter things. But can't lift the bag of dog food, or the vacuum, alot of laundry, go food shopping alone. If my dog starts to pull me a little bit when we are walking and I have to pull back, I feel it. My regular doctor said its going to be up to three months after surgery for me to completely heal from it and he WARNED me to not do manual labor. Also said no weight training or more strenous workouts than walking.
-
Thanks I had the hietal hernia repaired, and I never knew I had one, but that at least explains the shoulder pain when I am not eating, and just carrying the laundry basket or my work bag.
-
Make them aware what your doctor is saying you have to eat during the 4 weeks post opt and ask whomever you are staying/living with to understand what is on that list.
-
When I eat too fast I immediately get the pain in my chest and left shoulder. I am 4 weeks post opt. I am getting used to it though because sometimes that pain is the trigger for me to stop eating.

Weight loss at 1st Postop Visit ? - Jeni
Chrisann replied to Jeni's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For some us, we have been on a liquid/puree stage for a month now, so your body has adjusted to that. I have no doubt that once "regular" food is reintroduced, the metabolism does a double take and the weight will actually start coming off. I think we are moving into the you have to eat to lose weight phase of our lives. In the past, you would diet and cut things way back and your body fed off the muscle not the fat. -
What is that putting your BMI at? The point of the presurgical diet is to reduce your liver. Its possible that since you put the weight on over a few months time, it may not have affected the liver adversely. Hang in there and go all liquids (protein based) for the next two days before surgery and go in there with all the confidence in the world.

This one maybe?

I am actually the oldest of 6 and I am 5'8" tall. But I should find a photo where it looks like we resemble each other. Now, that could be insulting to you, because it might be I look younger or you look older:rolleyes:

4 days post-op and feel sick
Chrisann replied to illion's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would put a call into the doctors office. -
Start by not even putting a glass in front of you on the table and eat slowly and chew alot, you will realize that you can finish the meal without drinking. Then, the challenge is to stay that way for at least 30 minutes, so I have been taking a walk after dinner to avoid drinking.
-
I went for the lap band because it was non invasive surgery as well as the reasons mentioned by Girly. You can still eat mostly everything in very small amounts, and I liked that I wouldn't have to eliminate things just severely cut back my consumption of them. Getting the lapband didn't really interfere with my life too much, I am 4 weeks post surgery today. I went back to work in a week, am eating Soups and mushy type foods.

Don't worry about it. You were originally thinking January and that is all that counts. Maybe you will be losing before surgery still, and you will see a difference from these you posted.
-
Nikki we have the same sunglasses. LOL:cool: and we might be able to pass as sisters. How tall are you, look at how long your leg looks....
-
Glad to see you came out of it ok. There has been plenty on here more graphic about gas so if the need be, you can print it. I hope you are checking with your doc on the rash and the ulcer and getting the right meds to make them better.

Weight loss at 1st Postop Visit ? - Jeni
Chrisann replied to Jeni's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Didn't your doc tell you the first 4-6 weeks are for healing? Mine told me not to worry about losing weight, as some even gain during this period. Its after the fill I have to make sure that the weight starts coming off. I decided not to stress over the weight issue until after I get my first fill.
