If you don't get that feeling and eat the normal portion as indicated on the label, are you then stretching your pouch and not knowing? I feel full after a portion of food but in a few hours feel the hunger again.

Have you hit a plateau but are loosing inches?
Chrisann replied to SB0233's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Guys, really stop worrying, your body is used to the liquids and not eating food by now. Once you start on food, real food, and get that fill, you will start to lose the weight. The 4 weeks after surgery are for healing, we will all lose weight in the next year once we get our sweet spots with the fill. -
Well I only have 2 tickets in my Sunday plan, so I can't really offer for you and your brother to join me and my brother as everyone in my section are plan holders, but if you are in NY and Mets are at home, I would be happy to join you. I go to about 45 games a year here and I go to Philly because those tix are easy to get. I like to visit stadiums too, and will try to make it to Minnesota. Aside from Shea, I have been to Yankee Stadium, Philly, Camden Yards, Wrigley, Jacobs Field, Turner Field, and Devil Rays. How funny is that in the new stadiums, they are putting in wider seats and we all are going to be thinner by the time these stadiums open? Its going to be very pleasant to have the ability to move around in them instead of being wedged into to them.

I am on call for Blood donation and donated just 2 days ago, one month after surgery. I was told that the incisions had to be healed with no oozing.

Its the last year for Shea Stadium, the new one is slated to be opened in 2009 right in the parking lot. There hasn't been a peep from Pedro. Billy Wagner and David Wright have commented though. We are still dealing with obnoxious Yankee fans over this trade and the pesky Philly fans too.

I figure as long as I don't lose my hair, I can deal with a crummy texture. My hair is long, and was to the middle of my back, and I had it cut today, about 2 inches off, now it hits about an inch above my bra line. I think I will shorten it to shoulder length when I am down 45 pounds.

I am a month and couple of days out and feeling 100% better. Had a fill the other day, and I feel some restriction, not what I thought I would be feeling. Can't complain though. So crystal how upset are you that my fav team, the NY Mets got Johan Santana? The Mets pissed me off this year, raising my ticket package price after their collapse, so I guess the signing of Johan justifies their increase now. I am really happy....

Go to the scar stages thread, you will see lots and lots of them:smile:

Feeling No restriciton and FUSTRATED!
Chrisann replied to zippyz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 4cc's in my 10cc band. Got 3 on Wednesday, my first fill. I do and don't feel restriction. Its weird. I start on solid food Sunday, so I will have to really see then. I do have another doc visit in two weeks. -
OMG I cheated on my OPTIFAST. Will I be ok still?
Chrisann replied to Soleilsmmy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would drink alot of water today. -
How many weeks before you had a fill?
Chrisann replied to Kristin1031's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Banded 12/31/07, had my first fill on 1/30/08, have 4cc's in a 10cc band, and go back to see my surgeon on 2/15/08. -
I think I gained weight 7 days post-op! Can this really happen?
Chrisann replied to bubbles098's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember when you went on a conventional diet, lost weight fast, and then plateaued almost immmediately? Well you cut way down on food consumption, and your body goes into starvation mode, and feeds off your muscles. Once you start back on food, you will lose it. I started back on food, controlled amounts, thought I ate way too much and lost a pound when I saw the doctor on Wednesday. Everyone is different, but since my surgery, I am down 4 pounds, my surgery was 4 weeks ago. I am not upset. Hang in there, just because you got the band doesn't mean the pounds will just melt away. I read at least 2 dozen times on this board that the band is TOOL to HELP you lose weight. It will happen, with hard work by you and the band doing its job. -
I am actually feeling a little hungry in the morning since the fill, my doc said that people have difficulties in the morning, so I am probably need a bit more. I am 5'7", I do feel the restriction, like this morning, had a very well peeled and sectioned grapefruit. It took me nearly 45 minutes to eat and I felt that full feeling pretty strongly.

:biggrin:You might as well relax while you can as you might find yourself uncomfortable after the surgery.

Could be the anesthesia is working its way out of your system.. My hair was dry and dull up to about a week ago. I didn't change my shampoos either. I added spray on conditioner after conditioning it in the shower and let it air dry a little longer to avoid the breaks. Its finally starting to get back to the old silky shiny kind of hair.

I was on liquids over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, my nutritionist allowed me 5oz of proteinon Christmas Eve so I had fish, but was liquid on everything else. Superbowl is nothing compared to being on liquid for a holiday, let alone two weeks, so hang in there for your 24 hours, it won't be so hard.

I would ask my doctors office for a guideline to follow. Weight loss after surgery is hit or miss because this time is for healing. You also retain a fair bit of Water from the surgery. I would follow the guidelines given by your doctor because its odd that you are 3 days out from surgery and looking for yogurt already. Mostly everyone is on Clear Liquids and other liquids for the first one or two weeks after surgery.

How much weight have you lost?????
Chrisann replied to Kay_Benavides's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Down 27 pounds, and 24 was on the pre surgical diet. So I am 4 weeks out of surgery and down 3 additional. I can't complain. Had my first fill yesterday, and go to solid foods on Sunday. There is no doubt that I will average a pound a week down once I am into a regimented meal plan. These liquids and mushies are hard to make you feel satisfied. -
Looking for Flouroscopy in Houston, TX...2.5 months out and only 10 lbs lost
Chrisann replied to Gangy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
2.5 months is 10 weeks and you lost 10.5 pounds? My doc said the target loss is 1-2 pounds a week, so you are averaging 1 a week, that is good as you are steady. -
If you go to GNC and keep your receipt, they will take back the whole jug and refund your money if you don't like it. I specifically asked that when I purchased the Isopure. I wasn't sure about the low carb, low fat powder with 45g Protein, thought it would take bad. You can also get Designer whey protein to go packs for about $1.25 to try. Those you mix in with a bottle of Water and get about 10g of protein.

I had my first fill yesterday, 4 cc's total in a 10 cc band, and I am feeling the restriction. I didn't even have anything last night, more than a few mouthfuls of Soup. I had a Protein smoothie in the late afternoon, and didn't feel hungry until around 9:00pm and had the soup, but really it wasn't more than 5oz, and I was full. That is such a nice feeling, and now this morning, I have been nursing my Slimfast for nearly 40 minutes. I have to stay on liquids for the rest of today, and mushy/pureed food Friday and Saturday.

I had the same issues after my banding. I was in almost 2 weeks of hell. Hang in there. Once it was apparent that I didn't dislodge my band from dry heaving, and that I was having all the problems because of muscle damage from the dry heaving and my hernia repair, I was able to relax and work through the hell.

bad test results back today.....
Chrisann replied to bjo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tested positive for HPV back in 1999 and had the colposcopy. The GYN used a solution sort of like lemon juice to burn out the cells. I didn't really feel it, and I bled for a day or so, just wore a pad, and took antibiotics. The cells came back negative and for the first year, had a GYN visit 2x, and since, annually and have been normal. -
I was in the same boat, I found that sipping warm broth or decaf tea was easier than any other liquid for almost 2 weeks for me. Even now I am not getting near the 64oz I am supposed to get. Hang in there, you will wake up one day and want to chug the bottle.:tt1:
