I love it, its great for chopping and blending in smaller quantities. I got one for Christmas, because I was getting the band, and now I use it for all sorts of things. You can get them on sale around $50.

My doctor knows I am going on vacation, she wanted me in two weeks before I left for the fill so that if any problems developed I would still be home. She said she doesn't like giving fills too close to vacations because if something happens and you aren't nearby, there might be no one who knows what they are doing.

I was not given any medical restrictions so I take regular excedrin for the headaches. In fact, had a serious fall less than a week ago and was given 750mg Ibuprofen to take daily. I have severe bruising on my thigh, still swollen, and pain, as the injury is on a muscle.

With the 5cc's I am super tight in the morning and much less restrictive at night. I panicked and called the doc's office. I was called back today, and was told this is normal. So, I am feeling more comfortable knowing that. Its my time of the month now, and that seems to affect the band too. Its been tight all day. That was uncomfortable, but food does go down, just small amounts and chewed very well. I think its the combination of restriction, bloating, and cramps.

I bought one from ebay after reading this thread. I travel quite a bit so it makes more sense to me to have it on. I just have Adjustable Gastric Band, Abdominal Port, No Blind NG. Didn't put anything else. Mine is Sterling Silver and there is no red medical symbol on it. Its all silver so looks like the bracelets I wear. Its still a good thing to have, as it was already said, if you travel alot its better than nothing at all.

I had two fills and have 5cc's in the 10cc AP band, and I am restricted most of the day, except at night.

Ask the pharmacist in the local drugstore about the Benedryl if you can't get your Doctor. Benedryl has always worked for me in these situations.

I am not sure it means a fill is needed because if we are all tight in the morning and open in the evening, how would a fill help. It might over restrict us in the AM. I also drink hot tea in the morning, and by 11:00am get to nibble on half a South Beach High Protein bar. I use chewable kids Vitamins and take two. Now, I am snacking on a very well sectioned and peeled grapefruit, its not protein, but I couldn't finish the Protein Bar earlier, so trying this softer food.

Can they recommoend another VA hospital or civilian hospital in NJ for you to go to? At this point you need the surgery, and if you have to travel and stay in a hotel somewhere else in the state, that might be your best option. Good luck and hang in there, something good will come about.

I am feeling it too, had 1cc put in on Friday for a total of 5cc's in the 10cc band.

I guess every doc is different because I can have NSAIDS, in fact, been on 750mg of Ibuprofen since Friday, and even took them 2 days after surgery on the advice of my surgeon.

you can always visit his and Dr. Ren, and Dr. Kurian's website for info on what they do there. There are support groups too and they don't ask who banded you. NYU Thin For Life is the website address.

Yes, go figure, was walking down to my basement, on old wooden stairs. Our house is 100 years old, and so are the stairs. So, took one step and boom, down I go 10 feet into the basement. I live alone, so it took my dog barking to wake up my sisters dog upstairs for her to come down. Once all the dust cleared, and surveyed the damage to me, decided to go to the hospital. Ironically enough, had a fill scheduled for today, so I decided that since the fill was in the hospital, I would get everything looked at once I got there. My surgeon did the fill, looked at the damage and told me to go to the ER. Thank God nothing was broken, but have gigantic, ugly red, blue, purple bruises on my legs, arms, thighs and abdomen. This was the comment going around my family and friends today...."The stairs were fine when you were heavier, now that you are losing weight, the stairs break, go figure". You just have to laugh it off. I had the fill and feeling that restriction, and with all the pain from the bruises, I am just floating on the drugs. I just had to post the irony of it.

I would have to vote for both Isopure and Designer Whey at GNC. What is cool is that if you don't like it and you keep the receipt, they take it back. They are having a sale now too.

I have finally felt real restriction at my second fill, stopping me from eating too much. But you don't have to mourn food, that is the good thing about the band, you can eat regular food in moderation. Even a piece of chocolate now and then. In fact, had a small piece of ice cream cake from Carvel today and felt the restriction after about 5 bites. Am I upset? Absolutely not. I had some ice cream, and felt satisfied, instead of sitting there watching others enjoy it and wishing for it. I got my small taste of it and the craving is over.

My second fill was on Friday, 2/15 and all of a sudden I feel restriction all the time. I am not Pb'ing, or Sliming, but get that full feeling after eating a small amount of food. Which is exactly what the band is supposed to do.

5cc's in a 10cc band. Taking the pain meds again because I fell through the stairs into my basement. The story is in the Lap Band lounge. Anyway, all weekend the pills go down no problem. This morning, only took the Ibuprofen, and bam, it got stuck. Warm tea not doing it. Went out on a Quest for pineapple juice,( I heard that helps) in Manhattan, hit 6 stores, couldn't find any, and finally bought mixed fruit and threw it in the blender. Don't know if that helped but the feeling isn't as painful anymore. Its still there, and I have a bad headache, but not as powerful.

Yep me too. I am going on vacation next week, and spent yesterday trying on clothes, and most of them are too big. I get to shop when I am away!!!!

A guy in my office goes to a gym on Long Island that the brothers use, and hasn't seen either one of them in Spin Class in two months. Maybe they used some of the $$ to put a gym in their homes.

Thanks everyone. It came across as a joke to the people that know I had the surgery, others just looked at me like "well you are fat". I didn't let it bother me. When the guys came to fix the steps yesterday, they took one look, and were like, "are you sure you didn't break anything?" They were big men themselves and wound up replacing 4 of the 8 steps and jumped up and down on them to prove they were sturdy. So down I go to do the laundry, and for the first time ever, Rocky doesn't follow me, he just stands up there crying. I guess he saw me fall and now is petrified.

Aside from getting mine on the day of surgery 3 days too soon, it was back on the normal track since then. But then again, I was always regular. I would definately talk to the doctor about it. Getting it so frequently can reek havoc on your daily life.
