My NSV this week is crazy. I posted a pic in the beginning, of me in a Mets jersey and you can see how tight it was. Well yesterday, went to Opening Day, no photo though, and was able to have a turtleneck sweater on underneath and still button the jersey up and move around in it. Not to mention, not being wedged in the seat this season either.

If we can't take NSAIDS, then what can we take?
Chrisann replied to rakes4321's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Isn't it amazing how much we frequented this place before and right after surgery and as we have settled into band life its not that often? On this topic, I took Execedrin for a ripping headache and crushed the pills to powder and mixed them with Propel. -
Couldn't make it to Gym ended up losing
Chrisann replied to skythelimit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have no clue. Me, I have been fighting the same 2 pounds since my last fill, but have lost inches in my midsection and waist. I walk just about everyday and go to Pilates once a week. So who really knows how the body is working for us these days...... -
I look at my photos and can't tell a damn thing. I had all 4 of them up on my computer last night. My sisters' camera sucks. But when I get home later will post them for what its worth. I have the day before surgery and then one on each month anniversary or close to it, of the surgery. I think too, that next month, I am going to take the picture with my hair done and makeup on because they are down right scary looking.

I found the people on the phone are quite rude, and I have the personality to give it right back. When I go in for my appt, I tell Dr. Ren. I don't know if that gives them the impression I am immature, but I will be damned to be treated like a piece of crap on the phone after the surgery and the cost of it. With that being said, the staff in the office are great. They work with you to get you an appt you can make and they try to get you in on time. I am very happy with the people in the office.

Would It Kill Me....

Every surgeon's follow up is different. I would check with your doctor. If you are hungry, they will tell you if you can proceed with soups or not. -
Knockouts April Workout Minutes? Up it to 630 minutes
Chrisann replied to Chrisann's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey people, 6 days in for April, where are you on the exercise? I am at 100 minutes total. -
Hi Amber, don't ever doubt that the decision was the right one. I resisted the Lap Band talk from my doctor for years, and it was only last year that I decided to do it.

sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't?
Chrisann replied to Banded Bob's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Had 3 fills since surgery, 5.6cc's in a 10cc band. My band is very fickle. Sometimes great restriction, and sometimes nothing. Its weird and makes you stick to a food plan. I sometimes can't eat the same thing two days in a row either. -
Surgery date with no approval??
Chrisann replied to BandedInNY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a surgery date before my papers were processed too. Then, when the hospital moved my surgery up a month, my papers were submitted and I was approved in 24 hours. Weird. I have Oxford Liberty. I think busy doctors do give you the surgery date to block up their time in advance. -
Me thinks we are obsessing too much over the lapband, because I am now afraid to eat the foods that caused my last two PB's, even though I know the band can be very fickle.:bolt:

I'm so tired of the question "Can you eat this?"
Chrisann replied to Skinny_Jill's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You know whats funny? Its not my friends or coworkers making comments, they have been unbelievably supportive. Its my FAMILY. I know they mean well even though they are being snarky. -
I had a hernia found when they opened me up. Never, ever had symptoms before. Had to hold off on an exercise routine and lifting for an extra two weeks and I felt that I was in pain longer because of it.

I have always been attracted to tall large men. Not really large, like 400 pounds, but guys around 325-350 and 6'0-6'4". I have never been attracted to men under 200 pounds. I always dated football, baseball or hockey playing guys. Even dated a shot putter in college. What I can't stand at all, is sloppy dressing guys or guys who don't take care of themselves.

I'm so tired of the question "Can you eat this?"
Chrisann replied to Skinny_Jill's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I spent time with my parents last month while on vacation, they hadn't seen me since the surgery and two weeks after. I had been on solids for over a month when I went with 2 fills under my belt. All I kept getting asked was how come you are eating that? Can you eat that much? The story then made the rounds to all my brothers and sisters. Know what I had that WHOLE day? 1 egg over easy, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 3 wedges cheddar cheese, 5oz piece of grilled tilapia, and 4 oz sirloin steak. No veggies, no carbs, no juice, no soda, no Snacks, no dessert. I walked 5 miles that morning and drank close to a gallon of Water. Next day, wasn't feeling hungry at all, did a 3 mile walk. Ate 1 cup of cottage cheese, with Strawberries, and 3 wedges of cheddar. dinner was turkey breast, mashed potatoes, broccoli, stuffed mushrooms. My sister was over for dinner. This was her: you have a lot of turkey on your dish, you aren't going to lose weight. The only two things on my plate were turkey and broccoli. I got up, put the turkey on the weight watchers scale and it weighed 5oz. That shut her up. But that story made its way around the family, except the fact I weighed the meat in front of everyone. -
Knockouts April Workout Minutes? Up it to 630 minutes

40 minutes down, 590 to go. LOL:lol: -
Maybe try Propel, flavored water with vitamins, but only 25 calories. That might help.

Knockouts April Workout Minutes? Up it to 630 minutes
Chrisann replied to Chrisann's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well, I know that I take an hour of Pilates every week, walk for an hour downtown after that. I walk 20 minutes in the AM and 20 minutes at lunch, and then 30 minutes downtown just about everyday after work. I can't say that I am sweating, although my legs certainly tingle when I finally get on the subway for the trip into Brooklyn. On the weekends, I walk again both days, for an hour. But I don't count the twenty odd trips up and down the cellar stairs for the laundry, or the vacuuming I do every few days because of my dog. -
Is Excedrine OK to take?
Chrisann replied to angelface's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take it. Talk to your doctors office to be sure. -
With my additional .6cc's 10 days ago, bringing me to 5.6cc's in a 10cc band, I am feeling restriction, and I have gained 2 pounds. So I am attributing that to not eating enough, because when I look at my food chart, I am not eating alot, but its hard when you aren't feeling hungry. Hell, never thought I would be saying that.

Donated blood since being banded...Help!
Chrisann replied to betrthnever's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I donated today. Again, fully disclosing the surgery was 3 months ago today and there was no issue. My pulse was good, BP good, and iron good. They found the vein in one attempt, and I was done with the blood donation 20 minutes later. You have to have a snack before you leave, so I had a sugar free apple juice and my first Oreo cookie in 6 months. Its a good thing we are taught to chew slowly now, because that is what I did, savored the taste and chewed really slowly.:crying:
