I don't think I am getting enough Protein as my hair loss is getting noticeable in the shower and on the brushes. Even on my clothes sometimes too. I have been trying to add in a Protein shake a day now in addition to eating but sometimes can't get a damn thing down until late afternoon. Its been tough.

Knockouts April Workout Minutes? Up it to 630 minutes
Chrisann posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Should we up the minutes by 30 to 630 minutes, or is that too drastic? -
Does anyone know of a good antihistamine and decongestant for spring allergies? I can't take the pill anymore, its too large, (I tried and it got stuck for hours!!!) and the doctor said to not crush decongestants. She recommended liquid, but I can't be carrying a bottle around all day. The other suggestion was melt in your mouth antihistamines, but that still doesn't solve my decongestant problem. I tried the sinus capsules, opened it up and put the pellets in my smoothie, didn't work. Tried regular cold and sinus gels, didn't work either. If anyone has any ideas that work, please let me know.

I got .6cc's last Friday, bringing me to 6.1cc's in a 10cc band. I couldn't get anything down over the weekend except liquids. I was on liquids until Saturday and then soft until Monday. By Tuesday, still couldn't get solids down, but by Wednesday night, small amounts of solids got down, and by today, eating about 4 oz of food at a meal.

Signs when you are full ..I hiccup
Chrisann replied to readytoloselbs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel a heaviness in my chest. I will stop and then like 5 minutes later the hiccups start. Don't understand that because it doesn't happen all the time and with all different kinds of food and drink. -
I never needed a letter from my PCP doctor. He wrote the first thing on a prescription pad, sending me to see the surgeon, (I didn't need a referal either) and then I faxed over the requirements to his office that the surgeons office required and that was it. I don't get why the doctor gets an attitude when they were working with you through the procedure in the first place. Unbelievable.

Knockouts April Workout Minutes? Up it to 630 minutes
Chrisann replied to Chrisann's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well I was quite lazy until yesterday. With the weather so nice in NYC, I walked from 35th to 14th to get the train, about 30 minutes. Tonite, walked 35th to 19th, took my Pilates class, and then walked 19th to Houston Street. All in all over the two days, 2 hours or 120 minutes, so I am over 630 with 7 days left to the month. -
Hang in there, you guys are all losing, remember, you didn't get fat in a year, so its going to take at least a year to lose it. Don't look at what other people are doing, they aren't you and you don't know what they really are doing to lose the weight. Remember to journal what you are putting in your mouth, be it food or liquid. Remember to exercise, every little bit helps. I am at 6.1cc's now, after 4 fills, and I think I am almost at, if not at, my sweet spot. Suddenly, not able to eat and eat, feel satisfied sometimes after 5 bites, sometimes can't even get liquid down. But you know what? The scale hasn't changed since my fill last week. Its going to happen. Don't be beating yourselves up. After all, how many years has it been that you have seen this lower weight? For me, its about 6 years, 40 lousy pounds and I am back to what I was 6 years ago. If it wasn't for the band, I would not have lost a pound. Remember that food is not your friend and is not your crutch, it is only needed to sustain your body. Make it impersonal.

Getting fills without fluoroscopy...
Chrisann replied to christy071707's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon is great, had a fill today, and as always never had fluoroscopy and never needed one. She has hit the mark on the first try everytime. Hopefully now that I posted this I don't jinx myself....... -
Are you a male or female? I go to Rochelle Rice classes in Pilates and Yoga. I think she might do personal training. Her classes are for women of size. Rochelle Rice Heck if you want to try Yoga, she is having a 2 for 1 sale. I am already signed up but if you are interested, we could split the cost.

Nope, they will still do the surgery. You get the uncomfortable stretchy underwear and the giant pad. The days afterwards? It wasn't as bad as I thought, had to wear the overnight pads, cause I was spending so much time laying around, but I had band complications too, so the drugs did wonders for me....

I can't sit in front of the TV or computer and eat any more, I just have to concentrate on eating, and then I don't feel it. Over the weekend went to a dinner. Avoided the bread on the table, easier than I thought. Had a salad and chopped it all up pretty small myself. Then the entree was chicken marsala with Pasta. I didn't eat the pasta, and had to take half of the chicken home. No stuck food this time, definately no PB's!!!!:smile2:

Orange Roughy has a lot of fat per serving. I was shocked when I found out because its delicious. I have been sticking to Tilapia, Scallops, Mahi Mahi, Flounder and Salmon. The Salmon I have been getting, the farm raised, isn't smelly at all. I never ate salmon before the band, and now I eat it. Go figure.

I have an appt with my surgeon next Friday and want to get another small fill. I have no restriction at night. I have had 3 fills already. Brez when was your surgery?
-
I think the larger you are at the start the process the faster it comes off initially. Every doctor is different, but a pre diet helped me alot get used to the liquids after the surgery. If he isn't giving you one, try to just cut down.

Knockouts April Workout Minutes? Up it to 630 minutes
Chrisann replied to Chrisann's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
As of this morning, I am now at 340 minutes!!!!!!! But my quads are killing me. :wink2: I guess I overdid it the last few days. -
Wild feeling huh? If you really want bread, get thin sliced, I like the thin rye, and then toast it. Its like melba toast and your band can tolerate it because it crunches and breaks down really well when you chew. Hell, this morning got really tight on yogurt. Been watching how I eat the dense foods after my first few PB's, its too uncomfortable to risk those again.

Rochelle Rice: Classes, Workshops and Events I participate in Rochelle Rice's pilates and yoga classes, which she designed for women of size. I love it. She is sponsoring a Free Diabetics Event at the Marriot Marquis in Atlanta, GA. You can register at this site: Divabetic.org I wanted to post this for her because its such a good thing and its a free event.

Congrats, I like your approach too. Me, I don't worry about what other people are losing. As long as I am maintaining a number, or losing I don't care how slow it goes. I didn't get fat in one year, so I can't expect to be skinny in one. Good luck on continued success.

I have been fighting the same two pounds since my last fill. I haven't been eating enough. You should listen to your body. Are you really feeling hungry? Are you really only eating junk food? It doesn't matter too much about exercising, it matters what you are putting in your mouth at this point. I would do a food journal, see what you are eating and when, even include what you are drinking. You may see a pattern. If you are never feeling restriction, then I would get a fill.
