The diet is to shrink your organs for a less invasive surgery. I followed my three week plan to the T and had a great surgery and I'm recovering well. If your dr requires something, DO IT! It's for your own good and will help the process so much.

Yes, I get this often and it downright HURTS! Still healing is what my dr said. Those muscles took a beating. A heating pad is my best friend. Really relaxes the muscles.

Crying For Random Reasons During Pre-Op?
mduffield replied to greatestnameever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will have a lot of hormone release when you loose weight quickly. I cried like a baby about everything - perfectly normal! -
When will I actually see a change?
mduffield replied to AJP1243's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm about a month into loss ( including pre op.) exactly 30lbs lost and 50 to go for surgeons goal. Clothes are very loose and people are just starting to notice/comment. Keep up the good work!! -
Who is thrilled to be past surgery!!? IN recovery and starting to see results!!? I still pinch myself some mornings to make sure it's real! I'm 30lbs down from pre op starting. and have had zero complications since surgery ( gas pain and excess fluid was my only struggle.) I feel so blessed to be given this TOOL for a better life! It's not always easy and HOLY COW - full time job getting enough water and protein. We ARE doing this people! And we WILL succeed!! Let's keep things positive and encourage people wherever they are at, in their personal journey. Your all winners... ????

NOOOOOOO.... How frustrating for you!! It would hang on for a day or two and blow up your dr office phone in the meantime for answers. You've done your hard part and I'm sure you'll be a priority as soon as he's well.I'm 11d post op and down 30lbs since pre op started. Trust me! Best gift you could ever give yourself. -

What's with all the "diet" food?
mduffield replied to lgrey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Def want to follow this thread. My surgeon really inspired my hubby and I about whole foods/clean eating. We've been doing it about 60/40 the past two years and def going full scale once I'm off post op restrictions. Asked my surgeon why people who are eating small amounts are gaining? Simple, he said. Chemicals and unclean food. Mess with our hormones and bodies big time. -

Your in great hands with dr Ortiz and OCC! I am very pleased with my care there. One week post op and doing well. -
I haven't had any issue getting fluid in since waking from surgery. Dr Ortiz does a tight sleeve so I think it just varies from body to body. A week out and the fluids go down great! I just have to get into the habit of sipping every 15min! Getting more and more in each day and seeing the weight come off as a result! I'm so thrilled for us all to be PAST surgery, LOSING and learning our new lives!

My daughter kept hitting the "post" button! Had to edit three times! Good morning to you!

Hello fellow losers! ( haha.) I am one week post op today! Just wanted to share stats! HW 240 SW 238 ( starting pre op.) DOS 220 Current 213!! Goal 160 So pleased and happy! Post op has been challenging to stick to since I feel pretty good. I'm ready for some Beans and cottage cheese. Incisions are healing well. No more gas pain! Yay! I'll agree about drinking!! Gotta get those liquids in people, it helps your body so much. "Smooth move tea" tastes fine and is a great natural laxative if any of you are struggling. I didn't take pain meds after surgery and still struggled but the tea works!

@@mkw10 - you should certainly Contact Lucia and let her know what's happening. She is full of experience and will want to be in the loop, so she can help surgery happen when it should. I cut back to 2 shakes and 60oz of water to loose a little faster towards the end. Make SURE your water intake happens. It's vital to your body losing fat. Also make sure your taking all supplements and your lypo solve or lots of green tea ( fat burners!) -

@@mkw10 - are you drinking 60oz of water a day? The weight will come off! I'm a slow loser too but lost 20lbs by the end of my 21day pre op. My weight would stay put for several days and then drop again. What did Lucia give you for a minimum loss? Just focus on that number! -

Pre op is the hardest part! Your gonna be hungry and will have to work hard, to stay focused on your goal, of getting to surgery! You can do this! I am 5 days post op and doing great. I followed my pre op to a T and I think it helped me a lot. I've had minimal pain and zero nausea or vomiting. Dr Ortiz WILL put any fears you have to rest during your pre op visit ( right before surgery.) He and his team are amazing! You won't feel alone. Best of luck and know that your on your way to better health! -
I'm doing pretty well. No nausea or vomiting at all. Have the usual gas I'm working through with much water. And working hard to get liquids in. Sip sip sip!!!! Thanks for checking on me! How are you?

I'm recovering from surgery with Ariel Ortiz n Friday ( jan 9th.) everything has gone so smoothly - I couldn't be happier with the medical attention I received. I woke up with zero nausea and hardly any pain. I'm 2 days post op and not taking any painkillers. I would chose OCC any day all over again. The hotel and staff have been amazing and so hospitable too! -
