Wondering if there are any pre/post op Seattle sleevers out there? I'm pre op but scheduled for surgery in early January. Would love to connect with a local group.

You can certainly switch to a low sodium broth or better yet, make your own!? Too much salt will make you retain fluid anyways. Try drinking some electrolytes as well. That worked for me! And lots and lots of warm herbal tea ( my bff first month post surgery!)

@@Veronica Page - thanks for giving us all a good reminder! I do keep up with the thread but struggle to have time to post things, etc. life does move on. As you stated, I HOPE everyone here has a support system in place. Its so vital to this journey. I started running this week! RUNNING!!!!? It's a whole new world almost 60lbs lighter, lemme tell ya. I feel amazing! Had my 3 month post op with my surgeon on Thursday and he's thrilled with my results so far. One reminder ( if your not tracking already...) is your body fat percentage! It's important to see that number going down. True indicator of fat loss instead of muscle, bone, etc. I'll don't have one single regret for making this change in my life. My weight was my Everest and I'm in control and climbing to the top! It's the most powerful feeling I've ever experienced. I'm still ME but so much more confidant, healthy and happy. Cheers to us all. We are doing the hard yards now, but it's paying off. Anyone interested in posting weekly weigh ins? We could start Monday? More accountability, just remember everyone has their own journey and pace. Encouragement is the best motivator. Enjoy a great weekend everybody!

I like to use Greek yogurt ( clean and have protein.) dressings, lemon juice or basalmic and olive oil.

I am working out daily now. 30-45min of strength one day and moderate cardio the next. I don't think extreme or excessive exercise at this point is necessary. Just being active and moving! I am focusing on toning loose skin though, through yoga and core building. I'm thrilled with my steady weightloss, so far and can't what to hit goal! I've always made myself go to the gym, even on my heaviest days but I actually get excited about it now and really enjoy seeing how well my body performs weighing less. ????

That's some crazy good weightloss! Good for you!! I've tried a little salad, but my restriction doesn't allow much. I avoid lettuce as there really is no nutritional value and your body doesn't digest it anyways. Kale or spinach are better. Veggies don't seem to bother my stomach greatly but I've stuck to small amounts and chew like crazy. I love salad and miss it sometimes.

I'm steady with moderate exercise ( yoga and brisk walking/jogging are my favs right now!) I eat clean ( healthy fats and a bite here and there of healthy carbs.) and as much protein as I can stomach in a day. I still struggle to get 60g. But I'm close! I stop eating as soon as I'm full ( 4-5bites normally.) and I'm losing at a healthy pace. Slow and steady. My tummy fat started losing high and is working down. Hips/ lower abs are my worst area for sure. HW 240 ( nov 2014.) SW 220 ( jan 9, 2015) CW 187 ( today.) 27lbs to surgeons goal - Love my sleeve!

Congrats on amazing success! I'm 7 weeks post op and down 43lbs. Feels awesome! My incisions are completely healed and have momentary itchiness here and there. Yours are oozing??? I would def bring that to the attention of your Surgeon and make sure that's not cause for concern. Keep up the good work!

Post-op stomach swelling

It took me 2-3weeks not to feel bloated. Walking is your best friend! -
Had sleeve 1/29, still have left side and shoulder pain - advice please
mduffield replied to bbsbk221's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second the incentive spirometer! I'm 4 weeks out and still have left side aches. Just takes time. The gas will pass with walking and time for most people. Don't hesitate to contact your dr, if you think something is abnormal. Hang in there! It gets better every day. -
@@Veronica Page - I will start branching out to make my own. I can't keep not getting my required amounts in! I'm opposite from you. Warm is so good and cold? OUCH! Funny how we differ from person to person.

Post-Op Weight Loss - New Around Here...

Stalls are very common. Don't feel alone in that! Stick to your plan, take a break from the scale and it'll at work out. I'll 2nd measurements - they change even when the scale doesn't. Happy losing! -
Yea, two bites of puree anything + chewed 30x and I'm uncomfortable for an hour or two. Protein shakes make me so nauseated! I literally cried through half of one the other day. Feels like extreme morning sickness. ( NOT prego, to clarify.) I'll be happy when this part gets better. Surgery was a breeze compared to this. How are everyone's incisions looking?? Mine are healing nicely!
-
I'm 3 1/2 weeks out. No stall yet but consistent days between loss. Ok by me! Just want to see the scale moving down. I'm struggling more now, stomach is tiny and hates anything non liquid. My protein shakes are gagging the life outta me. This has been a tough week! I'm not giving up - keep trying until something works but I'm nowhere near my protein goals and it's frustrating!! Waiting to hear back from my NUT...

I'm always too optimistic and have high expectations of myself. That's def been a mental battle! @@Veronica Page - great point! We never would have achieved what we have and what we WILL without this journey.

I think it's important to remember the shock our bodies are experiencing. It'll all calm down soon, we will lose and feel good! I've had several moments in the last day or two of feeling frustrated with how difficult it can be to get enough water and protein in. My sleeve is just tiny! Then I look in the mirror and don't miss one OUNCE of the 35lbs I've lost since December. It's worth it. I've gotten off the scale and it's better emotionally to see loss ( even if it's just a lb or 2.) once a week, than the fluctuations constantly. Your all doing great! Keep up the good work

I cook 2-3x a day and it doesn't bother me at all. I cook whole, natural foods, that are healthy. It always smells amazing but I stay away and eat what I'm allowed. Makes me feel more normal to have my regular routine. After surgery you just don't have the same desires as before and the head game isn't as difficult. I enjoy helping my little family learn good habits and nutrition and I'll join them with tiny portions soon!

@ Veronica Page - I feel your pain!!
