I've learned so much through BariatricPal and am so grateful to have chanced upon it. My story, similar to many of yours, begins with that infamous "AHA MOMENT". A week before Thanksgiving in 2013, I was at a local rental car place because my car was being serviced at a nearby dealership. I immediately noticed a full length mirror on the wall of the entrance and I thought that to be quite strange. Really? I wouldn't think that when renting a vehicle one would need to view their whole body. As I spoke with the rep about my rental, I found myself continuously glancing at the very unflattering image in the mirror that was staring back at me. Was that an image of me :blink: ? I was horrified when I accepted that truth and so ready to get the keys to my rental so I could get out of there. I decided in that moment that I was going to do something about that out of control woman in the mirror. I attended a weight loss seminar in December 2013 and by June 2014 I'd completed my primary care physician's supervised weight loss program. I will undergo Roux-en-y on November 24, 2014 and I can truly say that I've overprepared myself for this life-changing experience!
