2/12 Can you say eat all day ? -
Good Morning, Boy did we get enuf snow or what? I'm heading into work late today, our road is solid ice and I'm no way risking that ride into work this morning, hopefully the streets will melt a bit. I did a bit of cooking yesterday, made meatballs & skettie, some tuna salad w/apples, cranberries and raisins and a big pan of roasted veggies so we should be set for the week w/lunch and dinners. We played in the snow for a bit and DD's face got so red I got worried her cheeks were getting wind burn so we came in and had hot chocolate and a brownie :nervous My fill feels like its not there  I got 1 cc in a 4 cc band.... do fills really kick in later on? I was supposed to be on liquids until today but fooie...5 days ?????????????? so I started eating saturday night which made it 4 days of liquids. I ate quite a bit of chicken to my surprise. The doc said I would feel like I did just out of surgery HAAAAA!!! what a schmuck...not even close. Sherry........... Your in my prayers today, good luck and congrats !! Zan, where the heck are they gonna pile 29" of snow in NYC? Emtbaby welcome !! and congratulations on getting the process started. Betty I agree with you, its so petty that people who have nothing better to do come here and start trouble. Be glad you didn't read that thread..it was just a bunch of babbling. Poor John, he meant well. Good gosh girl, I hope you don't have time to read every thread lolol. I'm lucky if I can read 2 threads a day during the week. One thing I have to say about LBT when I started coming here is the Mods and the members made me feel instantly at home. I've never got this kind of reaction so fast from any other site I've ever visited. Your all the best and don't let a few ninnies with to much time on their hands make you feel other wise. Whatch doing today? How goes the job hunting....any bites? Aww sorry about your doggie. My susie loves the snow too, lays in it like its nothing. Pat your car is very very pretty !!! I'm so glad your enjoying it. ohhh and the baby is soooooooooo cute, what a little doll. Anne, I'll trade you the snow for some sun any day lolol. I used to love it but as I age, its starting to piss me off HAAAAAAA!!!!!! I guess I'm just tired of having to drive in it. Driving in ice and snow can really be stressful. Not that I can't drive in it but you have to watch the other cars and pray they don't slide into you. I gotta go check out your gift *giggle* Patty, where are ya hon? hope we haven't scared you away lol. Are you chillin in Disney this weekend? How are the boys? Beanie, hope your first day back at work is a good one...take it easy. I give you so much credit for going back after 1 week..... wowee !!! Cindy love, whats happening? how's school? You know when I see a thread where there's fighting I try like heck to stay away and not even read it. I have enuf problems struggling with feeling depressed so I try to avoid those types of threads. I did put my 2 cents into Johns thread.....just couldn't help myself lol. I'm glad the thread is gone though... there's no need for it here. This is one big happy family here and well I guess with any family we have to deal with the black sheep every once in a while lol. I guess I should get dressed....... blech... I wanna stay home Well ya all, have a wonderful day.

Please Help Me Get a Food List Together
NJChick replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When you start the mushy stage or even regular food... chew the living daylights out of your food, like until it runs down your throat like Water and really concentrate on your eating because getting distracted is no fun lol. When is your surgery Leener? -
Are your children or pets overweight?
NJChick replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My dd is on the chunky side, but mostly its because she's not active. My mom who watches her is 80 so she doesn't get enuf exercise. This year she will be in a day care that has lots of physical activities so I'm hoping she will natually slim down. Her dad is very active and always has her running and playing.... I'm more of the slug b/c of my weight but dang...thats gonna change I do not preach to her about food b/c I don't want her to suffer the same child trama as I did, so behind her back and never making an issue out of it I give her healthier stuff. When we have parties, I have baked chips instead of regular and if she wants a cookie, I give her those 100 calorie packs... she has no clue. She doesn't drink soda except on special occasions so her staple is Water and unsweetened tea. I want her to live a normal life.....as normal as can be. Oh and my dog is not fat, she's very fit. Gets alot of exercise and we watch what we give her to eat. -
Good Morning Boy is it snowing, we got 15" (approx) so far. My dog is about 60 lbs, shepard mix and when she stands outside in the snow all you see is the top of her back and her head ROFL...looks like she is swimming. But that old bag loves the snow and acts like a puppy in it. DD and DH are outside already having fun. We are expecting approx. 4 more inches before it ends OY! There's about 5 feet of snow at the end of my driveway from the snow plow and they only went by once LOLOL !!! How is everyone today. I'm gonna stay in my jamies and do some cooking today. Some chicken and meat balls How about you all ? SHERRY !!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK TOMORROW !!! Please let us know how you are when your feeling up to it... HUGS and KISSES !!!!! :clap2:

I was hungry from the time I got out of surgery. I had to do 3 weeks of liquids and I thought I was going to climb the walls. I remember those wicked pains. The only thing that kept me from not eating was the fact that I didn't want to hurt myself and wind up back in the hospital. If your on clears, drink warm broth, teas, coffee w/skim milk, and ice pops...thats what I did. And remember its not forever...you really need to heal your insides so listen to what ever your doctor says to do. You'll only be hurting yourself if you don't. I know its hard but you can do it drink slow.

Your not kidding...when I first found this place I was all over it like a hurricane lol. I think I actually scared a few folks ROFL !! Learned a hell of a lot and then the next thing I knew POOF! BANDED !!! I'm really greatful to all the folks who took the time to explain things to me, and the folks who just love to laugh and have a good time. Your all like my 2nd family. HUGS !!

I'm at the same point as you...can eat like no tomorrow...don't even have to chew... its very depressing. I got my first fill on Wednesday..... ate my first dinner tonight after being on liquids for 3 days. I ate a decent amount of food 2 weeks I'm gonna go for another fill if this one doesn't kick in.

Same here, my DH will support me in anything I do to lose weight yet he has never made a remark or made me feel ashamed of myself. He just wants a healthy happy wife again. I started out with 95 lbs to lose... I'm at a struggling point b/c I haven't had a fill until this past wednesday but dang gum it... I'm gonna make this work... and so can you. Like Photonut said, the band is not the cure, its only a tool. I too have joined WW so many times, nutra system, every stinkin diet you can think of since I was about 10 years old. Ohhh fireman WHOOHOO good for you... hey I once dated/lived with a fireman and boy did I have good times at the firehouse and going to the wetdowns... ahhh what a blast. BEER BEER BEEEEEEEER lolol...oh but once your banded you might not wanna drink beer....bubbles ya know. Make the first step and see where it brings you......... you can only try. Good luck. Eileen

Did you, or will you ever, feel 'normal'?
NJChick replied to Constance's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I only have a 1 cc fill but so far everything is normal. There's nothing that I can't eat (at this point I do eat alot..still waiting to hit that sweet spot ) -
When I woke up from surgery the pain was pretty bad but they kept pumping me with drugs aaaaaaaah.... I was hurting for about 2 days and then it started to lesson more and more, I didn't need my pain killers after about the 2nd or 3rd day. It was worth it though.

IVAN708 just went thru a bunch of insurance kaka... you might want to ask him what he did. I believe he found a company that would finally give him insurance. He posts on the boards so you can find him in the members directory.
-
My bmi was 37 but I have high bp, arthritis, and some other stuff that the insurance companies felt was acceptable for the approval. I believe I made the right decision getting banded. Usually a bmi of 40 + you qualify (as far as the insurance companies are concerned) Between 35 - 40 you must have comorbidities to qualify.

Beanie I wouldn't recommend you storing anything in your car, wouldn't want to take a chance on something going bad and getting sick. Carry something small in your purse...get a bigger purse The 100 calorie packs are not as tempting as you think....but they do take the edge off if you want something sweet or salty and don't want to go overboard on the calories. I doubt you'll eat more than one (b/c they aren't like the real thing). One thing that works for me is when I go to BJ's wholesale (its like sams club or costco's) is I buy the box of single serving low fat microwave popcorn. Its already portioned out and low calories. Hmmmm Beanie you could put one of them in your car and by the time you go home at night your car will smell like a movie theater lol.

Please Help Me Get a Food List Together
NJChick replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I believe there's a list as a sticky that would help you but here's some stuff I used. Clear liquids (my life story lolol) broth (they do have veggie both in packets if you don't do ckn) Tea coffee w/skim milk Cranberry or Apple juice (no sugar added, get the 100% stuff) Ice pops or Italian Ice (no pieces of fruit inside) Isopure (its a clear Protein drink... just get a few, don't go crazy) Chewable Vitamins (Centrum has one thats good) Water Gatorade (ick) Jello Thicker Liquids whey Protein drinks Cream Soups (I lived on cambells selects butternut squash Soup...it has pieces of potato in it but they are teeny like rice and not alot) And all of the above I sucked on pepridge farm fish crackers...pizza flavor (just a few) but this helped me keep sane, I'm not saying to do this but after doing 3 weeks of liquid I was going nuts. Mushies Veggy refried Beans Mashed taters or sweet taters Frozen mashed turnups or butternut squash Baby food Apple sauce Anything you can stick in your blender works Thru these phases I would just be careful not to eat spicy or gasy foods, keep it bland. -
Kathy ... HUGS !!!! get better soon.

Good luck and Welcome !!
