Paula, yesterday I kept thinking about hershey kisses with peanutbutter... Yep I went out and bought a bag, had 6 and brought the rest to work because they are SOOOOOOOO good, I can snarf down the entire bag w/no problem. So no, your not the only one who thinks like that. I love chocolate and think about it every day.

Oh what a snotty remark. Next time just say "Now Mary, you know jealousy will get you no where, and at least I have boobs, now shut up" Or you could say " ya know Mary, the boob thing is getting boring, can't you think of something else to say, or would that hurt to much." I don't blame you for being upset, she had no right making that remark, some friend. I'm sure it burned her ass that her very own DH made a remark, a nice remark about your WL HAAAAAAAAA good for the DH.

I don't think they should ban commercials but for our kids sakes, I wish they would ban the junk in the vending machines at school, like soda's and yodells. They can stock it with healthy choices like pretzles, apples, nuts, etc.

Allll righty then :guess

Glad your back on track Paula. I agree with the planned meals, it leaves less room for making bad decisions. I do my cooking on Sundays for our dinners during the week. That doesn't mean I won't grab a candy bar out of the vending machine, but it does help me some what stay in line My breakfast's are usually the same, either turkey bacon or oatmeal b/c I'm on the run to work, so its gotta be simple, the turkey bacon I cook the night b/4 in my nuker. lunch is 90% salad from our work cafeteria, once in a while I'll have their Soup. dinner is what ever I make on Sundays. NOW...the tricky part and the hardest to me is the in between snacking...thats what sabotages my wl efforts. But I keep trying.

Hey Hey Paula (okay I'm dating myself here lol) How are you feeling ? I just now am able to catch up on some of these posts and I came across yours... Girl, all I have to say is "I FEEL YOUR PAIN" shoot, who doesn't. Okay, you know what helps me get back on track? I will fast for 1 day or 1 1/2 days. By doing this, its almost like I'm riding the sugar cravings out of my body. When I'm done fasting, I seem to crave Protein, weird eh~ How's it going today ?

new to this web site but have plenty of ?...
NJChick replied to crazysexycool's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Crystal, And Welcome to LBT !!! 15 days to go... well girl, keep reading and do some searches on the questions you have. There's a world of information here along with some caring loving advice. What do you mean when you get sick of the same foods? are you talking when your on liquids or mushies? During those phases you need to stick with what the doctor tells you to eat, but after that when your on regular food, you eat what ever you like as long as you can tollerate it. So if you don't want a taco salad one day, have a cesars salad, or a turkey sandwich. You don't need to eat the same boring stuff, you'll pretty much be eating just like you are now once your doctor gives you the okay. Protein shakes, I drank Isopure while I was on Clear Liquids after surgery, after that I didn't have any Protein Shakes. What does your doc say about that? Tell us what kind of diet your supposed to be on after surgery. For instance, I was on 2 weeks clear liquids, followed by 1 week of thicker liquids, then 1 week of mushies and then regular food. Hugs and good luck !! -
WTG Alexra, I can see why you would be sad, your venturing out of your comfort zone and into foreign lands ....... but ohhhh ohhh how exciting !!!! I can't wait for my turn

"But isn't it easier to just diet without a band?"
NJChick replied to Constance's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
As much as I try, I can not portion control. Oh, I might be good for a week or two but then bang, I gain the weight back and then some. I can not control it as much as I have tried in my 40 years of living and believe me, I have tried and failed more times than one can imagine. The band reminds me to stop. Example, the other day I went to the cheese cake factory for dinner with DH and DD. I had the asian lettuce wraps.. yummy choice btw. Both my DD and DH had cheesecake and I only took one bite of each of theirs and was full. Before banding I would have eating a regular dinner, appetizer and desert all by myself. So you see, even with the teeny restriction I have now, I AM doing better. I've come to realize that I won't be one of those people who will lose weight over night with the band. I'm loving being able to enjoy life, food and still lose weight as slow as it may be. Its a wonderful feeling to be able to take a bite or two of something and not feel guilty. I'm greatful I'm not going in the other direction for once in my life. Tell your DH that just like a person who is ill, or has an addiction to something... you need help. Being overweight will only cause medical problems down the road and thats what your trying to prevent now. Hugs and Good Luck !! -
I agree, its so important to really pay close attention to our tummies when we are eating. When I was first banded I did this and lost at a good rate. As soon as I felt "satisfied" I stopped. Now my old habbits are creeping back up on me and I'm woofing down my food, lots of it. Jachut, your right on the money with this one. I just had my 2nd fill yesterday and Monday I can start eating again. I WILL pay more attention. Hugs !!!

Its funny, the body knows when to behave so don't worry about the sex part :guess I haven't experienced the "so little food" yet and have no problem with energy as far as exercise goes... Don't worry.... you'll be fine

Has anyone lost weight but not pant sizes?
NJChick replied to bandtastic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yep, I carry most of my weight around the belly and thats the last thing to go down, so my pants are still the same 30+ lbs later. Seems I lose every where else first. Hang in there  -
HELP HELP HELP!!!! Feeling like I'm choking
NJChick replied to Jersey Jesse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was told that when ever you have dry meat, make sure you have gravy with it (it can be fat free). If I'm out and the meat is to dry, I will coat my mouth with a teeny weeny sip of Water to help it go down. Your not alone.... hugs !!! -
I was hungry from the time I opened my eyes after surgery, dang I wanted a cheeseburger lol. The burping will continue...its normal, your gasy. What diet did your doctor put you on ? liquids ? Mushies ? and for how long ? Have some juice (clear), broth, Jello, to try to calm the hungers. Its not head hunger, your hungry so have what ever the doc allows.

Arthritis treatment option for use as a topical ointment
NJChick replied to judybellyband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have arthritis also and so does my inlaws as well as my Mom. We use a TOPICAL gel called Bigeloil, its basically a external analgesic used on horses. Yep you heard right. My mom had a hard time sleeping through the night but when she uses the bigeloil she sleeps right through. It was funny because at first her and my brother made fun of me saying that they were going to start craving hay and apples. We like it... good stuff imho. -
I had my first fill 4 months after surgery... don't ask LOL. I had my 2nd fill today. The way I can tell is that I am not losing weight and I am eating just like before banded. I'm not kidding when I say I can eat anything and alot of it. I barely have to chew...yikes. You will know, don't worry.
