Your innards are still swollen thats why your in pain. The best thing you can do is follow your doctors advice and stay on those liquids no matter how much of a pain in the ass it is. I remember waking up from surgery wanted a burger lol. I was so afraid of hurting myself that I stuck with the 2 weeks clear liquids, 1 week thick liquids and then FINALLY mushies. I'm soooooooo glad I did. Hang in there, its so worth the healing process.

It can't hurt to do liquids for one day if you feel uneasy about starting food so soon. Like Alex said, go slow and you'll be able to tell. Everyone reacts different to fills. My doctor has me on liquids from Friday - Monday, to me, thats to long, but I have a sneaky suspicion that he just doesn't want any emergency calls to ruin his weekend LOLOL. I normally go one day on liquids and by Saturday night I'm having thicker liquids and Sunday I'm eating mushy food. Be careful :eekB:

Good job Kiely. My doctor would not give me a fill until I stopped losing weight and that was 4 months after surgery. I was mad at the time but I realize he was right. The less fills you have, the better off you are (imho). IMHO, and if I were you (knowing what I know now) I would wait until your WL slows down and you and your body will know when its time. Congratulations !!!!!

I have 1.75 cc's in my band. I get golf balls every day so its teaching me to slow down. I was wondering if I had enough restriction because yesterday I ate a burger, like the size of a junior whopper. Thats all I ate though, couldn't eat any more but wondered if that was to much. I think my restriction is good and that its just head issues I'm struggling with (eating crap between meals). I dunno? but I'll give it more time before I rush for another fill.

Exactly Alex, I can eat a ton of lettuce/salad, but give me a bagel, or something hearty like that and its another story. The density of food does make a big difference. Thats why chips and junk food go down easy where as eat some chicken or steak and your humming another tune. May I suggest giving your fills a week or two before go running back to the doctor for more.

Good Morning Sherry, yes, its amazing what goes down nicely. Bending down with that golfball in your chest makes it feel like your heads gonna blow off LOL. I would snatch up those size 16's from your mom because I'm sure you will be there before you know it. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh 16's :eekB: Don'tcha just love a new dishwasher, now that we have one I try to stick everything in there, I mean everything lol. Yesterday I went to a concert with my sister. We were going to stop along the way for dinner but in the area of the concert there wasn't much of a choice. Burger King is my last desperate choice of food (not a fast food fan but anyway)....guess where we went...yup ick. So I had a jr. whopper which is a regular burger with lettuce, tomato, etc (the small one) I ate the entire thing but was full and satisfied with it. I wondered if I was eating to much but at the same time I was happy that I could finish it (mentally) and not eat fries or anything else. Do you think I need a fill? is that to much food? The burgers are no means big but I felt guilty. I'm not losing weight but thats because I'm picking inbetween and not exercising... Food gets stuck and I feel that if I get more restriction its not gonna help the mental struggle if you know what I mean. Anyhhhooooo whats everyone doing today. I'm gonna do a little bit of cooking (chicken casserole dish) and then play with DD.

WTF is wrong with me. Sherry !!!!!!!!!!! I read where your DH stopped that guy in the midst of committing that crime and it never sank in until now as I read Beanie's response... I feel like a schmuck. Your DH is so brave, I mean you really don't know what could have happened. You too are brave, I would have chit in my pants. Mary, I'm glad your kids were excited, it makes it less painful doesn't it, and your right, don't cry, you'll ruin your makeup  Hugs. Beanie girl, have a great time at the fair today and enjoy your day off on Monday. Wish I could help you with ideas for DH but I haven't a clue whats down there. How about taking him to a movie, or a nice early dinner and then after that some hot luvin for dessert naaaah naaaaaah. Betty, sorry your in the stuff yourself silly club. I sware, the stress of a job can really make me eat and it has. Hang in there and gee you sound like me...work work work and maybe sunday you'll have time for yourself. I hope you do. You deserve it.

Having no restriction before getting fills is very normal. I remember telling my doctor at 3 months that I could eat a 6" sub w/no sweat. He wouldn't give me a fill because even though I could eat that, I was still losing weight. Got my first fill at 4 months and my first one didn't do squat either. The second one really made a difference. Just hang in there, eat slow, chew, and yes, still be careful on the amount your eating.... practice eating smaller amounts so when you get your fills, you don't hurt yourself. Hugs and Kisses

Nioxin and Thinning Hair Treatments
NJChick replied to marypetunia's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went to my doctor a few weeks ago and complained that my hair is falling out in clumps. He said this is normal for weight loss patients. I asked when it would stop, he said when I stopped losing weight. I asked if there was anything I could take, you know extra Protein, etc. He said no, there is no medical evidence that any product/supplement works. So folks, I think we just have to deal with it for now and eventually it will grow back. My friend who had gastric had the same problem, she lost a ton of hair but now that she is a few years out from surgery and pretty much maintaining her weight, her hair got nice and thick. She said there's not much you can do, just make sure your taking your Vitamins and do make sure you are getting enough protein...can't hurt. Just my to cents as well. BTW, my hair was so nice and now, its stringy  good thing is, it will grow back Its just so scary when every day clumps fall out  Hang in there band buddies  -
Thats just it, its hard to find Protein drinks that are low calorie. I drink WorldWide Pure Protein shakes (pre made, cans) from Trader Joe's. The vanilla is good, the chocolate doesn't do me lol. The vanilla creme has: 21 gms Protein 2 gms net carbs (4 gms carbs) 100 calories 220 mg potassium 2 gms Fiber And they taste great. Net carbs mean.... you take the total carbs, minus the fiber and thats your net carbs. But remember the body can only absorb so much protein at one time (one meal/sitting). It really depends on the body, meaning a body builder with much more muscle mass can absorb more protein AT ONE SITTING than some one like me who sits at a desk all day. If your like me, 30 gms at one sitting should be the amount you would go for, not more. If you have a Protein Drink thats like Isopure and its 60 gms of protein, just drink it at two meals instead of 1 (divide it up).

Good Morning, Geepers its beautiful outside today *HAPPY GRIN* Anne, when I worked (many many years ago) in a nursing home, there was a woman there named Anna, we used to call her Anna Bananna...so it stuck with me..everyone named Ann, Anne, Annie, Anna is a bananna  rhymes so nicely lol. I'm glad your DH is coming home, or home by now lol. Listen, I'll let you in on a little secret... skip the coffee...jump his bones instead, but not in Home Depot ROFL! Patty, I'm so glad all your medical mumbo jumbo is finally over with. You know you got our prayers for a quick approval, oh yeah babe'. Eeek on the headlice, I think thats one of my biggest fears....ick. I'm a bug fobe and just hate the critters. Darcy, have fun at the cabin and I agree on woodsy smells lolol, but its fun anyway. I'd have to say, smoking is definitly worse..... I watched my dad die of cancer of the lungs, I saw him take his last breath, so smoking gets my vote. Gee, I don't mean to preach...I just get scared for folks who smoke...so I'm sorry, please know that this comes from my heart and I only say it with love and concern. Hang in there.... Hey, have you talked to your doctor about possibly trying Zyban to help you with the smoking? My DH used it to help him quit and so far its been 4 1/2 years for him w/no weight gain. Where is everyone today? hope your all having so much fun you can't post today lol Today I'll be cleaning, and tonight is the 4Him/Mark Schultz concert yipppeeee. But thats about it. Whats everyone doing this weekend?

Geeze louise..........yes, switch doctors if you can. I'm so sorry Trish
-
Trish, go with your instincts. How about trying another doctor in your area first and if you don't like him, stick with the original guy. How are you feeling btw?
-
Welcome home and to bandland :brick: I had a lot of pain too, so your not alone. It will get better, you'll see.
