NJChick replied to rpaniagua77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations !!! Hope your feeling better soon. -
Pat your beautiful in that picture... just beautiful. Laughing NOT! Have a wonderful meeting today. BTW, what do you all do at these meetings? Beanie good work at the gym, you keep it up girl. As far as the insurance company goes, you got my prayers that everything goes well. I remember that feeling of dissapointment when I left my dr's office too. When he said "you might just skim by" I felt my heart sink. Lisa, hope you get your date ASAP !!!! Its so nerve racking. I'm gonna go clean the computer room, its driving me NUTS !! TTYL

You can puree just about anything for the mushy stage (so my doc tells me). I am starting mushies on Saturday, the only thing I have in mind right now is refried Beans, mashed sweet taters, I'm going to mash up some fish and see how that goes, maybe some chili (after I put it in my chopper/masher), stuff like that. I don't even want to think about bread at this stage... scares me from what everyone says.

This is a loaded question LOL. I have sabotaged myself my entire life, thats why I got the band. Every time I start to lose weight, I feel better and I get cocky thinking oh this won't hurt and that won't hurt... well it did. I set myself up in thinking it was okay. And once that happened, the vicious cycle of gaining the weight back started again. Fixing it is hard, but realizing that you are doing it to begin with is a good start. Get rid of all the crap in the house. Grocery shopping is a challenge. Don't go shopping hungry. These things are easily said than done.... You just have to fight it with all your strength... get MAD !!!! Look how far you've come and just keep trying. I am on the thick liquid stage and I am STARVING !!! I mean I want to snarf down everything I see but for fear of hurting myself I don't. What I try to do is stay out of the kitchen and I'm trying to focus on activities instead. For a long time I liked hiding behind my fat... I was safe, no one would bother me. Could this be what is bothering you? Hugs and Kisses to you.... hope your journey is more successful.

Good Morning I couldn't sleep so here I am. I made some Cinnabon coffee, hopefully it will taste as good as it sounds. Nothing much is going on today, DD has school so thats where I'll be for the morning. I wish the movie theaters were open during the day here, I'd go in the afternoon. They are only open during the day on saturday and sundays and summer when the kids have off. Beanie good going on the 8 lbs WHOOHOO is right. I have to ask, why did you have mixed emotions when you left the doctors office. Was it b/c of th 8 lbs you just lost? I'm glad you had a good visit with the doc. Hey, can you call the insurance company and ask for a 48 hour expided review? This will get you your answer b/4 Monday... (BTW, why do you need it b/4 monday?). Zan GOOD GIRL !!! I'm glad you stayed away from the junk at the meeting. Where I work every stinkin day there is some sort of meeting with food or somebody bring in crap. I can only pray I will be as strong as you are. Whats shakin with you all ?

Question? (suggestions) My doc says I should be on "CLEAR" liquids for two weeks (after being banded). They told me to drink only: Clear broth Clear Juices - No sugar added Jello (ick) Ice Pops Crystal Lite drinks NO SODA coffee w/skim milk Tea Thats it !!!!! I am on day 6 and I am famished, the hunger pains is just horrible. The nurse in the hospital told me about Isopure (she was banded 3 years ago) and two of the folks here at this site suggested the same (Ira and Beanie ) Question is? Since Isopure contains Protein, how much protein should someone at this very early stage be drinking? I'm thinking b/c I'm not getting any Fiber that I might want to be careful and not drink to much of the stuff. Thanks for your suggestions, thoughts, idea's. Eileen

I made it 12 days clear liquids, then I moved on to thick liquids. I am trying my best to stay with the thick liquids like creamy soups and cream of wheat, vanilla yogurt and protein shakes. I will admit, I am sucking on goldfish crackers. It turns into pure mush, almost liquified LOL. Its keeping me sane what ever that is. Makena, be very careful what you are eating, especially being just banded. Kathy is right, its all about healing right now so try your best, I will too. Thanks everyone, these surely are the hardest days. HUGS !!!

I know these DVD/VHS's are old but Richard Simmons FIRST sweating to the oldies is pretty much geared towards people starting out...He also has one for seniors. -
Good Morning I don't have much time b/c I have to get my fat ass ready to take my DD to school Boy I'm gonna miss this. How is everyone today? Yesterday I took DD to chuckie cheese in the afternoon. I swore I wouldn't go there again if I could help it b/c the place is a ZOO!! Well we got there around 2 and there were maybe 5 kids in the entire place......HEAVEN !!!! We had a great time. Today I'll probably take her to a petting zoo after school or we'll go see Disney's chicken Little. Whats shakin with you today?

BBQ pork rinds rock (especially with sour cream...real sour cream lol).
-
Thought you'd like to see my new outfit.... I'm the one w/the red bandana ROFLMFAO !!!! .
-
I know, HAAA can you imagine, and they are my favorite candy (the pnut ones lol). I agree with you Anwyn, I would take liquid when I could and break the pills up or even crush them but check with your pharmacist first b/4 crushing any medication.
-
I never liked egg drop soup but I would think you could have it during muchy stage. Every doctors diet is different (say that 5 times real fast LOL) so if your not sure, ask.
-
I was told I can take anything as long as its smaller than an M&M (plain) lol.
-
Sausage, bacon, ham, PEPPERONI, salami, bologna, taylor ham, virginia ham sliced thin, mmmm mmmmmm I agree, it should be a free food, so should butter and sour cream. Pork Fat Rules.... Emeril L.

ROFLMFAO !!! If she gained, she would have a personal cook and trainer helping her get it off. You don't think she'd be in the grocery stores passing the ding dongs and fritoes now do you?

HAAAAAAAAAA !!! SNAP !

CONGTATULATION !!!

Hey Janet, I would say anything that doesn't have particles in it IS liquid. I'm on thicker liquids now and I am eating butternut squash soup that has little teeny pieces of potato in it. So far so good, I'm also eating cream of mushroom soup that has teeny particles in it. Now my doc said that I could puree anything I want for the mushy stage. I am planning on having pudding, mashed taters, cauliflower mashed up, and maybe some sweet taters. I did sneak in some goldfish crackers for some reason it really helped me go to the bathroom LOL.
-
Could it be that you are eating to fast when you take the first few bites? My doc said my meals should last anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes (don't know how I'm gonna do that).
-
Best Wishes KAT !!! Can't wait to hear from you
-
Good Luck !!
