Thanksgiving..Food Network....Excitment
NJChick replied to Teresita's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Christy, my ex boss brought me in some deep fried turkey one year and let me just say that has got to be the tastiest turkey I ever had. It was not greasy like one would think but the flavor was wonderful. I'm not a big fan of turkey but yummmmy ! I'm glad I'm not getting a fill before the holidays, I really want to enjoy them with a nibble here and there. (Gosh help me LOL). -

I slept in my recliner for about 4 nights, it just felt better sleeping upright than flat plus it was easier getting up. -

?? If you live in Jersey then you would understand what it means. -
Good Morning and Happy Saturday Cindy, boy am I sorry to hear about your G'ma. Yes, it does not sound good, not at all. You have to go with your gut instinct and do whats right for you. I'm so sorry. Beanie you are just a ray of sunshine thru this all, you really are. I'd be pulling my hair out and you my dear are keeping your spirits up. Bet there's something good at the end of this journey. Listen, eat the stuffing and enjoy it for crying out loud. One day, one meal isn't going to make you gain, its the meal after and the next day if we keep it up ya know LOL. Have fun in AZ. I have relatives down there, in Phoenix. My BIL who just passed away lived there and his kids still do... I also have an aunt and a bunch of cousins that moved there from Jersey like 20 years ago. Nothing on the agenda for today, which is nice How about you all ?

Thank You Everyone -
CINDY !! your birthday is today ? Well girl dang !! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, YOU SWEET WONDERFUL WOMAN Patty, nope I don't remember sheriff John...? I was in diapers in the 60's LOL. Actually I do remember some stuff from the 60's. I remember the man walking on the moon, I remember my easy bake oven. Watching I dream of jeanie. My sister fussing over the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Why do you ask? Tomorrow is real food kids.... I get to eat real food, I'm so nervous. I feel almost like a druggie taking a small hit of speed or something like that. Like here alcoholic, you can have 1/2 a beer instead of a case. Does anyone understand how I feel? I've been starving these 4 weeks but I've felt in control, now that I can have "FOOD" I'm almost terrified. Guess I'm afraid of gaining and losing control again. I know I'll be okay, I just had to get that off my chest. Where is everyone this beautiful evening ?

Anne if you cook I'll bring anything you want. I'll even do the dishes Did you all see Rachael Ray's turkey dinner in 60 minutes. She's cute but there's something about her that drives me nuts... I dunno, I think they need to give her some falsies b/c she needs boobies.... anyway back to food.... She made a boneless turkey breast that looked fantastic. Check out the food network.com My favorite cook on that channel is Paula Dean, I'm just surprised she's not 500 lbs. -
Lisa Lisa Bo Bisa, Fe Fi Fo Misa Lisa !!! Its good to see you chickie. I miss you too. When ya gonna come back and play?

Good Morning, Wow, nice to see you all, I would have started writing a 1/2 hr ago but there was so much to read here *GRIN* Pat that mini motorcycle is sooooooo cute, I know he's gonna have a great time with it. Who ever carved that out of wood did a fantastic job. Beanie girl, we are all here for you and I truly believe there is Power In Prayer. I'm glad you DH is helping you with your WL. I know you can do this. 49 lbs is alot of weight and lets face it, the problem for us is not losing weight, its keeping it off. So I know you can do it!! I just pray your insurance will continue your coverage since you did start this in 2005, maybe you'll be grandfathered?? GO BEANIE GO BEANIE !!! Every time you feel like cheating, just remember those asswipes in the insurance company telling you now and you say "TAKE THAT BCBS" yeeeeeeeehaaaaaaw !! Patty, you certainly are carrying a load on your shoulders. Just remember the teenage years are the hardest but once they are past that your kids are going to say to themselves OMG My Mom is a HERO!! They are going to just love you for what you are doing for them. I am the youngest of 7. We never went without but we didn't have extra thats for sure. My dad made peanuts and my mom went to work after I was born scrubbing people's toilets. Our vacations were in the stationwaggon, our christmas's were clothes we needed, not toys and I remember not one of us complaining. We made due. Knowing now how hard my parents struggled for us just makes me love them even more, ya know. They did good. You sound like a really strong person and like I said, God doesn't give you what you can't handle. Zan, good luck today for crying out loud !!!! they had better NOT cancel your appt. Tell them you know some guys from Jersey that will escort you to the office (vinnie, louie and paulie from the sopprano's lol). My nephew is Always! in the city so please, no throwing scales out he window....he doesn't have very good luck LOLOL !!! Betty Boop !!! whats shaking toots, where are you off and running to today? Cindy did your meeting go well yesterday? how's the fill going? I know you said a bar can last 3 hours, thats cool. Ira, your weight loss is going great but it sounds like your not eating much. I hope your watching and getting enough calories. One thing you don't want to do is go to low. Hows your son and wife? Is he excited about the holidays coming? Today I promised my DD I would take her to Friendlys for lunch. I believe they have soup so I'll have that instead of trying to struggle with choosing something thats not good or friendly to the band. TGIF !!!!

Good job Brad !!!

Yeah those nasty crackers and chips go down way to easy, even slow. My problem is I can't stop at 1 portion so I try not to have any at all. Last week I was eating gold fish crackers and said to myself OMG this has got to stop. So far this week I haven't had any. Hey !! if you need to snack how about a cup of Soup or a hot cup of tea, diet coco mix, something like that. Alot of times we're not really hungry but want something. Good luck !! DANG CHIPS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your very welcome

I know exactly how you feel, all I kept thinking about was my daughter and how could I leave her behind if something happened to me, that was my worst fear. What kept me sane was that I knew my doctor did a gazillion of these surgeries and I kept praying to Jesus for strength. I want to be healthy for my family because they deserve it as much as I do. I remember lying on the table right before I got that wonderful cocktail and looking up at the lights and saying "Jesus, I'm in Your hands, Bring me home to my family." He did Your gonna do wonderful, just keep the Faith Hugs and good luck to you. Eileen

Hi Tod, Yes, log your food into Fitday.com and see how many calories you are eating. My guess would be that its to much. Also, are you exercising? this could help you break your stall as well. When you go for your fill, ask your Doctor how many calories you should be at and go from there.

Anne, what time is dinner? LOL I would love to go out to eat but if we did that my DH would cry. One year I had to work the day b/4 thanksgiving so I had no time to cook anything. I ordered a turkey dinner with all the trimmings from our local grocery store (shop rite). We put it on the table and everyone almost died. My DH had tears in his eyes. We wound up throwing the entire meal in the garbage, it was that gross. DH told me that from now on I am to take the day b/4 thanksgiving off even w/out pay LOL. That saturday I made an entire dinner and you'd think he found gold, the man was happier than a pig in you know what. LOL!! Its the usual for us this year. Turkey Stuffing (just bread stuffing this year not potato stuffing...to much work) Mashed potatoes Sweet Potatoes Cauliflower Cranberries (both jelly and whole) Mushroom Gravy pumpkin Pie And some other pie or cake, not sure...but chocolate -

Good Morning Cindy I'm so sorry to hear about your G'ma, shoot !! Are you still going to see her for Thanksgiving? Did you ever look into the eyes of an elderly person? I worked in a nursing home for 4 years and I volunteered right up until my daugher was born, I plan on going back again some day, but I sware, every time I looked into the eyes of an elderly person I would see a beautiful child with all kinds of stories. Some eyes are faded but they still have so much life behind them. Its really beauiful to see deep into them, you'd be surprised at how it can make your heart swell up. I'll be praying for your G'ma. Beanie babe chocolate is the reason I didn't have the bypass LOL !!!! ode to a hershey's kiss by Eileen How's the gym coming along? did you show the eliptical who's boss last night? Pat, Happy Happy Happy Anniversary woweee 37 years. Patty is there any way that your kids can help each other? Meaning the eldest help one or two of the littler ones and you can help the eldest when he/she is all done? It might teach them some responsibility and you can give them some sort of reward? allowance? extra time to watch tv or play video's? something like that. It might make them feel all grown up Just an idea. Or.... how about letting the eldest make dinner, it can be very simple while you help the other kids. Bet you'd be surprised what the kids can do. And it would take some weight off of your shoulders. I give you all the credit in the world lady, I only have one child and i can not even imagine being a single mom. But listen.... God gives special situations to special people. He know's you can handle it because you are special. Well I'm off to do some reading and then get ready to take DD to school.....bye bye for now. TTYL
